Woah! What Happened? Posted August 1st, 2007 in General

I haven't been on Newground in about a year but a google search brought me here today and I was rather shocked by the changes. I can see the forums have been seriously updated including the long awaited new levels, and there's a new layout. What else is new?

Shouldn't that be "$inputthree!=$three"? That would stuff up what you want it to do.

Response to: Visual Basic for C++ Posted September 25th, 2006 in Programming

C++ is hard, but worth it. I really hate Visual Basic but mostly due to syntax preference and seeing lots of n00bs use VB to draw rectangles in programming class, idiots like that don't choose C++.

Also, more importantly, C++ is what most professional applications is written in, so its a good language to understand.

To be honest, I just wrote the first language that came to my head as another example.

I've seen that happen to a friend of mine, started with Visual Basic 6 and now spends most of his time adding copyright notices to calculator programs that nobody else will ever use.

I bought a DS, then sold it to buy a PSP when I realised how much it sucks ass. Also, people who say that the DS has sold more are dipshits, tons of people watch Big Brother but that doesn't make it any less the worst piece of shit to ever be shown on TV.

My TV is making a loud clicking noise that sounds like an african language. I think there is something wrong with the set-top bawks. Anyone know what the hell is going on?

What was the point in posting that? Everyone has seen that thread, its no longer funny and posting it in this thread is just pointless.

1) Shitty actionscript is ALWAYS funny
2) Obviously the n00b who started this thread is a n00b, and probably hasnt seen it yet.
3) I am so very, very bored

I forgot portal even did that lol, I just thought the "Click outside the pop-up to close" in that other code sounded like a pain in the ass for the viewer and was offering an alternative. Also "only works in IE" is never a good thing since IE doesn't comply to any standards except Bill Gate's payroll lol.

How could you have already of written a browser in VB if you just started with it like a hour ago? heh, copy/paste? Wrong choice young grass hoppa! :p Nah seriously though i'd start at the beginning.

Simple web browser is the first tutorial that comes with VB.NET.

Personally I think C# is a much better choice to start with than VB.NET coz it does the same functions but uses a syntax more like more advanced languages (eg php, c++). Also, VB6 is shitxor.

14 started with Visual Basic in class, and Casio Basic on my calculator. By the time I turned 15 I had started with some C# which I found cool. Since then I have also learnt php and MySQL to make my website, and even managed to get a job designing the website for my Dad's school. Just a few days ago I decided to start learning x86 assembly, and are really enjoying the challenge.
