It had to do with the deletion of the "Affiliate System", allowing all users to become affiliates. All of these threads were locked, and it's all over now.

Because there is no way that you can prove that you originally owned the account, you will not be able to get you're account back. You might be able to get the account deleted, however.

For the time being, they're going to post "New Design" threads, simply because it's new and they've been waiting on it for so long. These threads will eventually stop, once everybody understands that the redesign if fairly easy to notice and most people no about it.

Great Idea, there's a LOT of things going wrong.

1. You can't post special characters in blog entires.

2. The forum stops working sometimes.

3. We're all running slow.

Topic: A Guide To Making Better Threads

FROM THE NEWGROUND'S BBS RULES:

* Give your topic a relevant and descriptive title.
* No story threads, 'Rate me' threads, limited choice topics.
* No topic that only a limited number of people can respond too.
* If a thread looks like spam, don’t bother posting in it.

I can’t help but notice that the BBS has been going through some problems with topic making as of late. Now, I know that I’m not the most experienced of users, nor do I carry any actual authority, but I hope nonetheless that you read this guide. With your help, we can reduce the amount of crappy threads that plague the front page, while at the same time preserving the quality ones.

The redesign is coming, and a whole new ere of Newgrounds will arrive with it. We’re going to see a change in not only the look of the site, but the feel as well. There’s going to be new users coming to the site, as well as old users returning, and the BBS is part of this change as well. Mods are going to delete topics that don’t obey the rules, and ban the users that create them.

REMEMBER: In order to keep the quality threads alive, try not to respond to the crappy ones, it really irritates me when I spend a long time on a thread, just to watch it get 5 replies.

1. Always use proper grammar. This is the number one most important thing to go over before submitting your new topic. No one is going to want to read your topic if it’s written like you’re a 5-year-old. If your not sure if you’re using a word correctly, or spelling it right, try writing your topics in a word processing program before putting them on Newgrounds. That way, you can make any changes you need to make, and give it a good read-through. This also includes making different paragraphs for different points, no one wants to read a giant paragraph that’s 20+ lines.

2. Always have a point. Your topic should always have at least some level of intelligence involved in it, even if you’re just trying to be funny. If you want to be funny, then that’s enough of a point to post, but if you want to post random gibberish just to go up in post count, then your thread will most likely be deleted. Old news, copy and pasting articles from a website that aren’t interesting, or following an old trend (RickRoll, Splash Attack, etc.) are all pointless topics. Keep these types of posts to a minimum, but occasionally they’re considered OK.

3. Keep a clear mind when posting. Posting under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or being in a severe state of anger/depression when posting is a recipe for disaster. Write yourself a sticky note and stick it on your computer if you have to.

4. Be funny, for the love of god. I’m not saying that every posts that you make needs to be covered in sarcasm sause, but if your going for the funny thread, than make sure that your being funny. There’s some things that are funny, but there’s some things that will get you banned, and you need to be smart enough to tell the difference between the two. If you’re not sure if you’re being funny, make sure to lurk around funny threads as much as possible before making yours. Good luck to you, because being funny is hard.

If you're going to post something, but aren't sure if it'd be considered a valid/good thread, you're best bet is to ask a mod. They've all seen plenty of good threads and plenty of bad ones, so they know what's best.

If not, I'll just roam the convention and see what there is to see.

Cool, can you help me update this thread with coverage? I'm looking for as many NGers as possible to go.

This isn't actually that long of a post. And I'm really used to people not responding to my posts. I just thought this would be different, but whatever.

1. If you're near the San Deigo area, tickets are really cheap, so if I were you, I'd jump onto the website. If you're not near SD, than you're out of luck.

2. The booth has gotten significantly bigger every year. Here's some information about last year's booth. It's going to be just a little bit bigger, with a whole other booth just for Newgounds,

At 7/2/07 10:33 PM, Suppose wrote: Tom will post all that happens.

No, he posts some limited pictures from his booth about a month later. This is coverage for the whole event, including panels that I go to.

At 7/2/07 10:40 PM, aplufantdotcom wrote: I won't support TheBehemoth anymore, ever sense Tom made a choice to keep CastleCrashers limited to the XBLA.

No one would fund The Behemoth for any system, so they resorted to making a low-budget XBLA version of AH. Things worked well on the system, so they used it for CC.

[ComiCon Homepage]

As most of you know, Tom Fulp and the rest of the team over at The Behemoth (The makers of Alien Hominid, the best XBLA game ever) are heading to ComiCon for the fifth year in a row. Now, this is a huge milestone for the company, so as you can imagine they're very excited about the whole thing. So exited, in fact, that they're going to celebrate by not only getting the biggest booth that they've ever gotten at ComiCon, but by having a Newgrounds.com booth as well, complete with NG legends showing up and more!

Some of you may know that I've gone to ComiCon all 5 years that Tom and Co. have, and I even appeared on Newgrounds once. (check the ComiCon 06 page)

I had this cool idea for this year though, seeing as it's a big deal for not only Newground's staff, but for the Newground's community too. I'm going to begin covering news related to ComiCon, as well as give updates once the event starts. (Thu, July 26 -Sun, July 29) Not only do I appreciate other Newgrounds users that will be there to update. But I would like to see people who don't normally go to ComiCon to read what it's all about, and maybe think about flying out for next year.

ComiCon is from Thu, July 26 -Sun, July 29. I'll see you guys there!
