I hope that this really makes you think. I wrote it myself, with various inspiration from the movies I’ve seen, and the books I’ve read. I hope you enjoy it. While you read it, keep your mind open.
A man is walking down a street in what used to be New York. To people of this time it would seem as if he was running, but he wasn’t. People is his time walked like we run, they always seemed to be in a hurry. They had good reason, too.
People of this time were afraid. Everywhere they went they were scared to death. It didn’t matter who they were with or what the were doing, they were always afraid.
Afraid of the eyes that were watching them. Always. The eyes of their so called “government”, watching there every move. If they did anything wrong, they had no where to hide and would be caught immediately. No exceptions.
None.
All these thoughts went through this mans head as he walked faster and faster. He didn’t even notice when a bullet fit him, silently, in the back of the head.
PRESENT DAY
A knock came on the door, and the man woke up to go get it. He swung the door open, do to the fact that it was early and some unknown ass hole woke him up. But then he saw that it wasn’t just an ordinary person who had knocked. The person now standing at his doorway was dressed in a huge armor suit with the letters “World Police Squad”.
The conversation was long and contain a lot of cursing. In short, he was told that in future he died due to a missed snipe attempt. The police officer said that they don’t normally contact people from the past like this, but since it was an act of crime against the law, they made an exception.
Just before he shut the door left, he asked “What year did this happen in?”.
The policeman chuckled and said, “Year? It’s next week”.
Any thoughts on my writing or on the story?
