Love song - Romeo and Juliet by the Dire Straits
Rock song - Purple Haze or Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix
Creepy song - Death of a Martian or Otherside By Red Hot Chili Peppers

Death of a martian has really odd, kind of dark themes and a really long chant toward the end that makes no sense at all but is still kind of dark and creepy - kind of sounds like an incantation. Otherside is just full of creepy, dark themes.

Here's the death of a martian chant:

She's got a sword in case though this is not her lord in case the one who can't afford to face her image is restored to grace. Disappeared. No trace. Musky tears. Suitcase. The down turn brave little burncub bearcareless turnip snare rampages pitch color pages... down and out but not in Vegas. Disembarks and disengages. No loft. Sweet pink canary cages plummet pop dewskin fortitude for the sniffing black noses that snort and allude to the dangling trinkets that mimic the dirt cough go drink its. It's for you. Blue battered naval town slip kisses delivered by duck muscles and bottlenosed grifters arrive in time to catch the late show. It's a beehive barrel race. A shehive stare and chase wasted feature who tried and failed to reach her. Embossed beneath a box in the closet that's lost. The kind that you find when you mind your own business. Shiv sister to the quickness before it blisters into the newmorning milk blanket. Your ilk is funny to the turnstyle touch bunny whose bouqet set a course for bloom without decay. Get your broom and sweep up echoes of yesternight's fallen freckles... away...

I definitely agree with you, but sadly humour is often a natural human reaction to tragedy. This is probably evolution's way of minimizing things like PTSD and depression.

Agh I hate that gutteral accent in singing, it really cheeses me off.

But yeah, you're right, she'll probably go far - the accent worked for Lily Allen after all.

Say me and another NG user both contributed to an audio submission, would there be any way to show both users on the submission page, as is possible on flash submissions?

If it can be done, how?

I uploaded a video of me doing a blues improvisation to youtube, and I was wondering what you, the NG audio community, thought of it (bearing in mind that I only did one trial run before recording it).

I'm planning on recording a multi-layer blues track for the audio portal, most likely a shuffle riff similar to the one in the video on one layer, some basic chords on another and a lead line on another.

Also tell me what you think of this track:

I think I did a few too many bends in it, but tell me what you think other than that.

He died on thursday due to complications of pneumonia at age 94. Not a bad age to be honest.

Just think how different the world of music would have been without him; the sound made my many kinds of popular music genres wouldn't have been possible without him.

Join the Facebook group here in remembrance of him, invite your friends too.

Ok, so when you ask for people to scout you, people just say "ohh don't ask people to scout you, it doesn't work, you can't ask you've got to wait for them to find your work". But why should you have to wait for someone who happens to be in the art portal to stumble upon your work when you can just show everyone in the art forum? If you wait for someone to find you, it will probably take absolutely ages because there's no reason why they should find you any time, it's complete luck, but posting a thread in the art portal with your work and asking people to scout you based on the drawing you've done there seems a sensible idea to me.

Anyone want to enlighten me as to why you can't ask people to?

Oh and here's one of my works:

I don't really see the point...

I've got a fender lite ash tele, maple neck. I always fit it with 9 guage strings and it has quite a low action. It is absolute bliss to play it, and the ash body really makes up for the sustain lost by the bolt-on neck. I've got a Marshall Valvestate 8040 to play it through, which has a really good sound, a good balance between warm and sharp.

My favourite bands are probably the RHCPs and the Eagles, and I've been playing for almost 4 years.

Oh and I've also got a squier affinity strat and a gear4music 12 string acoustic (was only £50, but it is AMAZING for the price)
