What I think would be cool if it was that little advert space where NG frequently advertises events right under the 'To-Do List' module on the homepage. It could like show one ad for about ten seconds, then fade into another like a slideshow.

Yeah, it just started doing that, this is a fourth one. I'll try disabling my AVS and see if that works.

Problem Uploading Images Posted October 18th, 2010 in Where is / How to?

I have this picture, and I'm trying to upload it in the Art portal.

It won't upload! I can fill out the form, but when I hit "Submit" it just says "Please wait while form is submitted..." forever. It never uploads. I tried refreshing multiple times, turned the computer on and off, cleared my cookies and cache, used Firefox and IE, but nothing worked.

Any ideas?

I'd say addiction, but I can see why some classify it as a disease.

These Problems Matter.

Have you ever been on Facebook (or MySpace if you're still stuck in 2006) and you see those teenage girls who engage in internet fights? You know what I'm talking about? Have you ever read those and just lol'd? If there's a site about dumb FML's and GMH's, why isn't there a site where you can screen-cap these teenage girl fights, or write about IRL ones, so people can comment about how hilariously dumb they are?

I feel this would be a lulz-worthy effort.

Discuss.

While they encourage 5 or above at my school, they also say it relates around a specific thought. So, in my classes your paragraphs could be one or 1212342849123885 sentences if they're still on topic.

Politics is a dirty, dirty game of lies, deciet, and trickery. They're all crooks, from the friendly neighborhood representative to Obama. It's a dirty game, and I would never pursue partaking in it.

Response to: Todays Youth More Sensitive? Posted October 7th, 2010 in General

Yes, I am a youth today, and, from what I have gathered, we are by far the most sensitive generation of children.

I think it stems from multiple causes. The first is rapid growth of technology, allowing kids to be in contact with one another 24/7. If anyone here was a kid before cell phones, I would assume there was no other form of non-face-to-face communication except actually talking on your home phone. Nowadays, kids might as well have a tracking chip installed in them; you can be reached almost any time of the day, anywhere. While on its surface this is a good thing, letting kids be social and active in communication at all times of the day, teenagers often struggle socially, I know this from firsthand experience. Plus, this means you can be "cyber-bullied" pretty much anywhere. Another thing is how you see teenage angst and drama a lot more because of platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Formspring, Myspace, YouTube, Tumblr, etc., where teenagers can, and as I've seen, often do, post about their minute problems.

Coupled with that is the fact that the previous generation, the Baby-Boomers, are overall much worse parents than their parents. While I see the values and lessons of older generations worn off, I see now a lot of people around me's parents are in fact very loose about rules, punishment, and talking to their children. I don't understand. A LOT of people I know, at high school, drink, smoke, and do recreational drugs, which disgusts me. While that is a whole other discussion, it just surprises me that their parents never educated them about the consequences of their actions at such a young age. Drinking's fine when you're 21, but not 15. It seems these parents are lazy and depend on public education Health class to teach them, which, I have found, taught me very little about the consequences of my actions, and instead it was my parents.

Now, I could and probably am very wrong and I bet some people are reading this thinking that I'm a retard. But these are my thoughts on the matter.

Response to: Fuck Now Said More Than Hell? Posted October 7th, 2010 in General

I usually say these said "curse words" frequently and without much thought. When 99.99% of the time you socialize with people who are indifferent about the words, the "naughtiness" and and vulgarity of the word just seems to disappear. Curse words will come in and out of favor over the course of time in society. I personally think it would be better if everyone just disregarded the vulgarity of "foul language" and let them be socially acceptable.

Response to: Anime and what you feel about it Posted October 6th, 2010 in General

When iw atch the show, I feel indifferent, like it's any other cartoon.

People at my school who are anime junkies are really, really weird. They like to hang out in the Japanese classroom after school where they do their "After school Anime club." I'm not gonna say I'm any less nerdy than these kids, but their behavior in other matters is very weird as well.

I think everyone should choose. People say "OMG POT'S BAD FOR YOU." So are cigarettes, so is a lot of alcohol. But you have the choice on those. I personally will never smoke weed, because I don't want to. But now the government can tax the shit out of it!

So go and get high, stoners.
