Would you guys please check out my newest melody in the portal: Drums & Guitar in D major. I worked on it for about a week or two. So if you guys could possibly review...thanks!

For me it was Yngwie Malmsteen. Before I heard him I had never heard anybody play guitar like that and was in awe. This was years ago when I was just starting to get into guitar seriously so he really made an impact on the music I listen to and how I want to play guitar.

So who was it for you guys?

Greenday.

Before anyone gets on my case about how much they can't play. Let me explain myself.

They have catchy riffs. They only use about 3-4 chords per song, yet the way he incoporates the chords is genuis (sp?). He knows how to make up music and keep it interesting with the vocals matching. I like that. BUT I also listen to hard rock, such as Metallica, Guns & Roses, Led Zepplin, ACDC, and punk like Third Eye Blind, Sum 41, and such stuff like that. So when I make up music I try to use catchy tunes but use it in a hard rock way, so it ends up taking "punk with a metal edge". It usually turns out nice at band practice.

We just got done recording some stuff at practice last time, so I'll submit it soon. We recording the full version of "My Demise" & "Never" for those who ever visited the audio portal and looked up EckHart you'll know what it is. And I gotta tell you, it sounds a hell of a lot better. Maybe you'll even feel the need to listen to it some day.

Cheers!

Boss MT-2 Metalzone, Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, Dod Icebox Stereo Chorus, Axxeman rackmount preamp/compressor, Alesis rackmount Midiverb

Hey man, you ever check out Korgg? Awesome stuff. Line 6 aint so bad either, but nice setup nonetheless...

Response to: Guitars Posted August 16th, 2005 in Audio

I don't really have a quality amp but I have a Digitech GNX2.

It's the shit ain't it man? Lol. I love that thing. But I think the Line 6 delay has better potential delay wise.

I'll start. I have a Samick Malibu. It is not even worth talking about. It sucks so bad, in every aspect. My other (better) guitar is an Ibanez g10. It has some nice sounding humbucker pickups, and plays fairly well. The stupid floyd rose bridge sucks, so I had another spring installed to keep it in tune. So you get the idea.

DON'T YOU EVER PUT DOWN A FLOYD ROSE! THEY ARE GODLY!

Anyway:

I have been playing for about 7 years now. I have a couple guitars...which I am lazy so I'll only name the good ones...I have a Black Yamaha Double Locking Tremolo with a FLOYD ROSE FLOATING BRIDGE. Then a LTD ESP gothic black with glow in the dark knobs, and a 12th fret inlay of an Eagle. I have a GNX2 Digitech pedal, 120 watt Crate Amp, a Hush 2, Metal Zone, and a Line 6 delay pedal (which is also godly).

By the way, you might get bashed because it belongs in the CLUBS/CREWS Forum...ya jackass. lmao.

Response to: Music downloads and reviews. Posted August 16th, 2005 in Audio

I am after mainly reviews, and downloads. Because votes don't really do anything for me now. Zero votes sort of unbalance the voting system. You don't really now if the track sucks for sure, or if people are just voting zero for the hell of it.

NOW, downloading. THAT'S different. People must like your music if they take their time to download it. But I think reviews should be a must as well. I realize that the chance of that happening are slim to none. So if no one reviews MY stuff why should I vote on theirs. People will download it, and NOT EVEN VOTE! What the hell man. I could care less what the vote, just vote to make me think it's worth your time?

I only really want, downloads, and reviews. That's it....

But such is life...

Please Review! Posted August 12th, 2005 in Audio

I am really tryin hard on this next project of mine, it could days possibly week, maybe even a month. Before I was just submitting shit because I liked it, and I had my amp with me. But now I'm going to start practicing AND bring my amp home from band practice. But there is this one tune that I want you guys to hear and see what you think. See if it has potential. The TEST IS very repeatitive, but that is ONLY because I wanted to get the point across.

It will be about 3 minutes of 3 guitars soloing, and backing each other up for a heavier feel to it. I am using the drum machine on my GNX2 so that's why it's alitle repeatitive drums wise. But the guitar part will change, and will be faster in some parts, and I'll try and throw in some heavier solo's instead of just melodic riffs. It will have some bassy notes from the second guitar, and the first one will just palm mute (with accents of course) the background with the drums for the heavier feel. Then the third guitar part will be lead. All together I personally enjoy making this. I just need some feedback.

It is D major, and I have some feedback from my friends, saying it is alitle redundant, but like I said earlier I am only doing that to the clear cut point across of a melodic like riff. I JUST now and starting to learn how to record my own stuff while having 2 of my other riffs in the background. So instead of hearing one of my guitar riffs you'll hear 3!

Please check it out and give me an honest review about the potential it may or may not have. Thanks alot guys!

It is called "TEST Guitar Melody" I would really like some reviews from some experienced artists.

Thanks again! : )

Could you review TEST Guitar Melody.

I know it's repeatitive, but it's only that way because I couldn't record the rest, because I had to go work. So if you could put THAT part aside and review whether its a good idea. I have THREE guitars in there, drums but no bass. I will work on the recording quality, this was just to get some responses while I was at work. But the only one who left a review was some kid who had NO audio submission himself, and felt the need to criticize my work. So if you wouldn't mind telling me you're opinions. Thanks man!

I had a lot of comments saying for my guitar submissions I should add another guitar and some drums, so I made a TEST Submission that I would really really really like you guys to check out if you could. I want to work on it more, I just need to know if I'm off to a good start...So please I know it's repeatitive, it's only that way, to see how you guys would respond. Please let me know what you think, and vote fairly. Thanks..

My band and I play in tons of crowds almost 6 times a month, and we rock on stage. This is more of a sit at home kind of thing that I do in my spare time. I put work, girlfriend, band practice, and friends first. Then comes the sit at home music work.

I'm going to college for Mass Comm. and music tech. So either read what I actually said, and shut up. I play in shows, I play on stage. I ONLY do this for fun, but it doesn't hurt to a little bit of recognition from it.

Guitarist - Must be creative when it comes to making solos, riffs, chord progressions, etc. Must know how to read music and understand musical theory.

I can play guitar pretty well, but can't read music worth shit, I play by ear, and make up my own stuff. Check out my stuff in the portal. All the riffs I made up myself. I'm really good at making up catchy tunes. So yea, I'll be in, if you let me...

It’s okay to go off topic; the one I created is clearly dead, lol. But I will state this one more time. I don’t wish to be more important than the flash artist merely better known among the site. I want to submit an audio submission and people want to view it, because it is from me. I don’t care about the awards as much as I do entertaining people. I just want reviews so I can improve my music.

See, I have been playing guitar now for about 7 years, and I play with my heart and soul on stage. Even though I make a wide variety of music, Punk/Hard Rock is my passion, and for me it’s not about awards, (although that would be pretty freaking sweet) I just want people to like to view my submissions. I realize that this will take time to be better known, and I am willing to wait. I just figured that if I made a big deal about it, maybe it would encourage people to view, vote and review my audio submissions.

I have been given A LOT of advice from some really good audio artists, so hopefully you guys will hear that I have been getting a lot better since my first submission, “Eckhart’s Project One”. So I hope that some day you guys will see a submission that says something with “Eckhart” in the title and view it right away. I’m not looking for a Platinum Track (as I’ve stated before, it WOULD be cool), I just want more viewers, and downloads and reviewers, because to me. It means that you guys have taken time out of YOUR life, to view my shit. It may sound dumb, but to me…music is my passion. Without music, I just Erik Eckhart. Some dumb kid, with nothing to do…So I leave you guys with the hopes that you will view my music, vote fairly, and review!

Cheers!

Green Day had two fucking CD's out before they "sold out" and made Dookie, SIXTEEN FUCKING YEARS AGO, and to be honest one of them sucked. Unless you where fans of thier LP's, or you used to watch them play at Gilman Street, you have no clue what you are saying.

And even if they did "sell out", who cares? What you guys need to get through your head is that THIS IS THIER FUCKING LIVES. To you, it's just some music; this is thier income. Do you understand this? They do what they do so they can continue to live in a house. Tre', BJ, and Mike have wives. BJ and Jason White have children to feed.

Sell outs or not, they are STILL my favorite band. I can probably play guitar better than BJ, but I love his music. I am actually seeing them play live at the MerrieWeather Post Pavillion on August 30th with my girlfriend. It's going be fucking sweet!

Yea, good point. I never even thought about that. But still, there's gotta be some way, to get some incentive for people to view and REview. I just wish I got more downloads, and reviews, so I could get better, and see what people think of the stuff I come up with. That's all. All my songs only have 0-2 reviews.
