This is the most pretentious thread. You fuckers need better books? Not everyone is the same. Many people don't like to read, don't hate on them. 90percent of the books you put up everyone was forced to read in school anyways. Everyone has read those books bro. They are great but come on I thought you were going to have some good obscure books posted here not classics that everyone has read like hitchhikers guide and clockwork orange and 1984. Everyone has read those douchebag. So if your gonna put a list of books up make them ones that people actually haven't read yet you pretentious fuck.

My roommate has a friend who has habitually talked shit to me. I have made many attempts to befriend this asshole but he always runs his mouth. So one day I had enough and I kicked the shit out of him very badly. I feel like him talking shit though falls on my roommate, since he is his friend. He should respect the fact that I live there he doesnt have to like me. I feel like my roommates friends are his responsibility and I have told him this. So after I kicked this dudes ass, weeks later he apologized. And we have gotten along again, for a lil bit. All the sudden he is starting to fuck with me again and I can either fuck him up and risk going to jail or getting arrested, or try to keep my cool. I just cannot handle people shittalking me in my own home. I had a talk with my roommate like, your friends are your responsibility you need to tell them to shut the fuck up if they have a problem with me. He reluctantly told me he would do that but I know my roommates enjoyed seeing me fight this mother fucker and they want to see it again for thier own bullshit enjoyment. What advice do you guys have?

See, this is like a 90 dollar guitar that I've abused a bit. It's made out of somewhat solid wood I guess, but it feels fairly lightweight for what it is, and the strings have been on it for...ever. 2 years+ now. I honestly think if I bought a guitar case, it'd exceed the value of the guitar.

On the other hand, if I get decent at it, I can get my dad to give me one of his guitars probably, which are all very nice. Really nice Yamaha that's pretty old, plus tons of electric guitars. Good inheritance coming to me if I pick up the guitar and play, which seems to be hard for me. Self conscious about how I sound.

My fingers would get blisters all the time from drumming way too much!! keep playing and maybe the blisters will go away. and man abusing your guitar is what music is all about. Rock and roll was all about smashing your electrics back in the 60s. I watched a big rock and roll video on what Jimmy hendrix would do with his electrics and also other bands like the rolling stones. See if you can youtube those guys.

When it comes to finger picking, any classical player will tell you, let your picking hands finger nails grow just a little. With this little finger nail you get the attack of a pick and no delay from plucking. If you are using the flesh of your finger to pick it is a pluck, not a pick. So let your fingernails grow a little on that hand and practice your scale exercises or whatever you practice and you will develop much more facility and dexterity.

If you are serious about learning guitar, you need to find a teacher. You could go to a guitar shop but If you are serious and don't want to waste your time, find a local Guitar professor at your local community college or university(preferrably). It may be a little pricey(30bucks or more for a half an hour) but If you really want to learn guitar you need to learn from the best. Don't waste your time.
