"I check out the AP sometimes, most of the stuff is bogus though. It is either stolen, or the beat with someone else putting the words in. I heard several songs copied straight from a CD, I mean how gay is that? The problem is that there isn't as much originality or creativity you could project with sound and audio as you can with an animation that has a visual effect."

That's my problem, alot of it is stolen, especially in the Hip-Hop section. Maybe if more people would vote or mark them as stolen people wouldn't be so egar to do that anymore. But nobody ever visits the Audio Portal and people who record shitty freestyles on top of NAS beats get away with clogging up the top spots in the portal and takeing credit for work they didn't do.

As far as creativity goes you might be surprised. True it's not as funny as watching a flash film but if you like music it wouldn't hurt to stop by and check out the local talent. Even if it means giving zeros to people ripping off Birdman, at least you're doing your part to unclog the portal and make room for people with real talent so the next time you need a song for a film, you won't have to listen to 30 bullshit beats before you get to something half way decent.

It counts how many times your beats have been downloaded so technically I guess there is a small counter. I just noticed that I'll go days without getting any more downloads and my score will stay the same meaning that nobody is voteing, which is odd since most of my beats are in the top 10.

Actually there is no "Judgement" in the audio portal. Everything you submit stays so don't be so proud that you're beat "survived". I could record myself masterbating and it would "Survive Judgement" due simply to the fact that there is no way to remove it.

Although FruityLoops may make things eaiser it's obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. It's jackasses like you that flood the audio portal with complete shit giving off the impression that everybody there sucks. Chances are, you downloaded the trail version, used the default drum set, and randomly clicked spaces in the piano roll and let fruitly loops make the pattern for you. It may be easy to make a sound loop, but making one that sounds good is something completely diffrent.

I could download a trial of flash and place a stick figure doing jumping jacks with ease, but that doesn't mean it's good does it?

Why is it that barley anybody checks out the audio portal? Do you just not care or do most people forget that it exists?

Response to: Why do yall hate DBZ? Posted September 9th, 2003 in General

It's not even so much that I don't like DBZ but that I don't like the Flash films DBZ fans post. They usually have very little to do with DBZ except bad hair and energy blasts. They lack decent art skills (usually stick figures with blond hair), have a terriable plot, the author usually knows nothing of Martial Arts and the proper forms of each move executed, there is usually little or no hand to hand combat because the autohers think energy blasts are "Cool", they spend way too much time powering up, the power up scene looks like shit (just a bunch of lines around a stick figure), and the movement involved is either way to choppy, way too slow, or so fast you cant tell what's going on.

Not to mention they usually have little or no voice actors and the sound effects are usually badly ripped samples of a WWF show with no filters to block out the annoying fuzz that microphones pick up naturally. That is, if they even take the time to add sound effects.

Then, other people rip off the DBZ idea and make their own movie claiming it's their idea. Just because your character doesn't have long hair doesn't mean the idea of flying, powering up, and energy blast shooting isn't a DBZ rip off.

I would love to see a decent DBZ flash film, but I don't think anybody with that type of talent would waist their skills recreating sombody elses idea/design/story/characters.

Response to: Why God is an excuse Posted August 12th, 2003 in General

That really is a pretty stupid excuse. I'm not relgious in any way, but saying that God is nothing more then an excuse because somebody is heartbroken that their husband/brother/mother... just died is moronic. They're not saying it's Gods fault those people are dead, they're asking why would he take that person from them? I see no blame passing.

I've never yet seen anybody fail a math test and say "It's Gods fault I failed." I've never once see somebody break their foot, lose their dog, or drink to much and say "God made me do it". People ask God for help, forgivness, or even the abilty to understand why certain things happen. If you don't believe in God then that's fine, express your disbeliefe all you want. But at least think out your claims of relegion being stupid before you make an ass out of yourself. Out of the problems in todays world of Christianity, the best thing you can come up with is "Why God Why?" Pull your head out of your ass and try again when you're not so close minded and stupid

I hate people like you.

I've yet to figure out the connection between watching and enjoying a flash animation and programming one. I mean, just because I haven't made a flash movie doesn't mean I don't know what a good 2 minute short film is?

Have you ever gone to the movies before dipshit? And have you ever left the theater talking about what you did and didn't like about that movie? Of course you have, but have you ever made a movie (home movies don't count)? Didn't think so. So does that mean you're not in the position to judge whether or not that was a good flick? It's the same principal, so instead of passing the blame just admit that your flash sucked and it got blamed. Try harder next time.

Besides, I programm in C++ C# VB and VB.net. Compared to those, Flash is for children. Oh wow, you have diffrent layers that you insert diffrent pictures in, lay them out on a timeline and hit play. Must take a fucking genius to figure that out. The hardest part about flash is the codeing, but if I remember correctly, it's all script based. <sarcasm>Boy, I sure feel sorry for you.</sarcasm>

Response to: No more KaZaA? Posted June 27th, 2003 in General

I won't lie, I haven't been in a music store since Napster started...they've lost alot of money on me alone. But law suits are not the way to handle this situation.

Suing a college student who is trying to better himself and the world over $200 worth of music that didn't cost $50 to make is outragouse. Do they really think that the world is going to "feel" for these assholes after they do this? Do they think that the people are going to love the music industry more because they locked up our best friends and children? Not to mention, there is always going to be a 19 year old kid out there that knows alot more about computers, file sharing, and the internet then any paid professional. They can't win.

The only solution is to work with file sharing, except it as a form of publication, and figure out how to get paid for it.

How long does it take? Posted June 26th, 2003 in General

Don't mind me, I'm just bitching because I tried to add a song to the audio portal but since it's my first entry I have to get "approved" before they post it on the site. It's been like 2 weeks and it's still not up. What's the deal? Does it always take this long? Oh well, you can ignore me I guess, just another stupid newbie being pissed because he suffers from A.D.D., has no adderall, and is an impatient basterd.

Response to: No more KaZaA? Posted June 26th, 2003 in General

Actually, Kazaa was sued and the US government did say the record companies could press charges even though the main servers sat in Austrailia (I believe) because over 4 million American citizens use it, thus makeing it an American business held to American laws.

What the record companies want to do is track down the users that have a substancial amount of songs up for DL and press charges against them in hopes to scare off other file shares. Or, you could be like the guy in Ohio I believe, who wants to destroy the hard drives of those who DL music. But that's guy is just a fucking dick and knows nothing about computers, the internet, kazaa, file shareing or anything that doesn't involve fucking your sister. I pray at night that that guy chokes to death. Maybe if we all clap our hands and truley believe...

Personally I don't think anything can stop this File Shareing. CDs are way to expensive and the conveince of not leaving your home to get what you want is all too rewarding. The only way the music industry will win this, is if they join up with Kazaa or somebody and make a cheap affordable file sharing server that we can all agree on. Then in 2 years they can jack up the price and rape us analy once more.
