I like the newest one where they go to the bar in hopes of getting laid. Although, I have no idea what number that is... 8 right?

Response to: High Voltage Posted February 11th, 2004 in General

Yeah, unfortunitly he's right. Alot of people on this site are fake ass punk rockers who shop at stores like "Hot Topic" and buy mass produced punk rock T-Shirts that express their individuality while making it their soul purpose in life to hate anything mainstream totally oblivious to their own hypocracy. Since DragonBall Z in mainstream, obvoulsy it sucks.

I personally don't watch it, but I don't automatically hate anything dealing with or in the style of it either. But for your own sake, don't sress the DBZ as much as the other aspects of the movie or you might get a bunch of jackasses with their heads so far up their ass they can lick their own intestines voting zero on an excelent flash flim based souly on the fact that your main character has yellow hair and can shoot energy blasts from his hands. On top of that, you'll have to deal with shitty reviews that say little more then 'DBZ is gay'. Just check this forum if you don't belive me... some people on this site really suck.

They showed it before Futurama.

Response to: True crime vs. GTAVC Posted February 2nd, 2004 in General

True Crime got old, really fast. Fight people, shoot people, drive somewhere fast... over and over and over again until the game was done.

I didn't mind the demons or dragon thing because I saw TC as more of an Action Movie instead of a real life police game. And let's face it, demons and dragons are not uncommon in your typical "Cop that knows Kung-Fu" action flick.

Although, the dragon fight was really boring.

Response to: PS2 vs. GC vs. Xbox Posted February 2nd, 2004 in General

I'm going to have to go with PS2.

Game Cube is too childish for my taste and to be honest, I'm really sick of playing the same 3 characters over and over and over again. Really, how many (mario, zelda, metroid, mario party, mario kart) games can they make? And who keeps buying this shit? Maybe if I played games with my friends this would be entertaining, but since I only game at night by myself, I think it's all complete shit.

XBox is a great system, and my only real reason for saying PS2 is the best is A) Final Fantasy, and B) I've owned my PS2 longer so I have more games for it.

Yes you can. If I remember correctly, the EJ Programs allow you to use their samples for whatever projects you would like free of charge as long as you use them to build a new song. You just can't sell the samples themselves.

Besides, I think by "Original" NG means that you can't upload an Eminem song and claim it as your own or try to pass off a Nas beat as something you created. Although no-talent hacks do it all of the time... but don't be that guy. I hate THAT guy.

Although, it's really not that bad. When I left for lunch the roads where all clear, well the main ones at least (VB Blvd, Rosemont, Holland...). Now I just pray it goes away.

Newgrounds - Why not?

Newgrounds - Because work sucks

I like the old slogan too. It kind of makes you wonder what you're going to find on this site. But if you really want to change it, I vote for "The Talents of Tomorrow, Today" or whatever the hell that one was.

Response to: No More Free Speech in NG Posted November 24th, 2003 in General

Fucking server errors....

I don't know, I always enjoyed reading the hateful reviews. They where usually pretty amusing. But then again I understand that NG is a widly popular site with thousands of Flash Artists trying to get their 5 minutes of fame or develop a portfolio in hopes of landing a good job. Knowing this, I would expect that only the best of the best deserve credit and if the majority of the people don't like my movie they are more then likely going to tell me. The way I see it, if you're not prepared to have people tell you how much you suck then you should move on to a more user friendly site that fits nicely into your "everybody wins" attitude. ToonDisney.com might not be a bad place to start.

My art skills are far below shitty so I don't even waist my time trying to develope a flash film. And if I did, I won't expect everybody here to say "good job but..." when we all know damn well that my shitty flash film of a stick figure doing a jumping jack is the worst thing to come across the portal in years. But then again I like honest reviews, even if I don't like what I read. At least that way I know that when I do get a good review it's not just somebody trying to be nice in order to gain a few extra points.

But hey, this isn't my site so I'll abide by whatever rules Tom and Wade see fit. If I don't like it, I'm more then welcome to leave.

Why would you want to hit back 3 times when you could click "NEEDS VOTES" once? Especially since you figure that having this list on the top of every page would attract viewers. Right now, if you want to help out NG, you have to open your profile, open your secrets, and then open the list. But why would you want to go to all of the trouble to do that when you know all you have to do is click "Flash Portal" to see the new films?

Of course, once your in the "Needs Votes" list, you still have to open the film, open the movie, vote, and then hit back a few times to get the original list. Once again, why do that when you can just click "Flash Portal"?

He was, but he had his own magazine with like 100 customers or something and a website where he posted his flash films. Slowly people started submiting theres and the rest is history, the point is... don't judge by age.

"Just type in the templist address once in the address bar, and keep selecting it from the recent visited pages in said address bar, that's what I do."

Well, I keep the list open in one window and right click the portal entries and choose "Open in new window" so I don't have to do any of that. But a menu button would make life alot easier. Besides, more people will check it out if it was at the top of every page and isn't that what you want?

Of course I also think it would be a good idea to have 2 or 3 judgements per film. Say, after 50 votes if you dont have at least a 2 it's blamed. After 100 if you don't have a 2 it's blamed and so on. That would get the complete shit off of the site alot quicker...

But what do I know

Response to: Help vote! Posted November 21st, 2003 in NG News

You should make a menu button for this page. That way we can always access the movies that need votes. I try to check it out as much as I can, but it's really annoying to have to access my profile, click secrets, click the link to that page, click a movie, click to watch the movie, click to vote, and then find that I'm at the "Thank you" screen with no way back to the other movies that need votes without starting all over again.

Very time consuming...

Response to: Audio Portal Posted November 20th, 2003 in General

I don't have a problem with that, it just seems nobody ever visits the Audio Portal. I have a pick of the week and 4 days later it still only has 8 downloads, that seems incredibly low after being on the site for a week doesn't it?

Even looped beats should have a judgement though. I could submit random snare hits to the site and it stays, seems like a waist of space to me. And if I do something like that, don't you think I (the author) should have the option to remove it?

The file size is plenty big, I just wish there was a way to filter out the crap and more secure way of getting rid of stolen tracks. Right now the only thing you can do is blow the whistle and even then there is no gaurntee that ABot or NG will do anything about it. Things like that would be blamed automatically if there was a judgement.

I like to think my shit is pretty good, my latest track "Mean Be - Vocals" is a pick of the week (a little shameless self promotion) but I have some other good hip hop beats up there.

Don't know much Sci-Fi, but BeatSpitta always has some really good beats in the Hip-Hop Portal and Kefkos Mario remix is decent.

Response to: DBZ: Gay or just retarded? Posted November 20th, 2003 in General

First of all, I couldn't give two shits about DB, DBZ, or DBGT. But it does annoy the hell out of me when people go home, watch something they know they hate, and then bitch because it sucks. What's even worse then that is when they decide to get online and express their opinion like anybody gives a fuck. In short...

If you don't like it, don't watch it. But either way, shut the fuck up.

People like the creator of this post need to be shot in the face and hung from a tree by their lower intestines for being stupid. There are a million and one posts on this very forum about the exact same thing yet for somereason assholes like you just can't help but talk about it.

To me, it sounds like you have secret homo-erotic tendancies and can't watch anything without fantasising about the two male leads in a passionate night of anal sex. Maybe it's just me, but I've never once turned on any cartoon and said "I wonder how they fuck?". But then again, this could be because I'm smart enough to understand that IT'S NOT REAL!

Next, I've never seen the DBZ characters fighting naked. Shirtless, yes. But naked, never.

2nd. Samura Jack has many episodes where his shirt is removed yet I don't see you bitching about that. Of course, if you want to get off of cartoons we could bring up Bruce Lee. I don't think he ever wore a shirt and he's one of the worlds best Martial Artists to this day.... and far from both gay and/or retarded. In fact he was very intelligent and happliy married (to a woman). He eventually created JKD

3rd. It's not gay for a man to walk around with his shirt off. Those of you who automatically assume that one not wearing a shirt is homosexual is either very insecure in their manhood or has homoerotic sexual tendancies of their own and subconsciously puts the idea of a shirtless man together with the idea of sex. I never thought about the fact that Gokus nipples where showing but then again, I don't waist my spare time thinking about the chests of other males.

4th. Rip your shirt in half and wear it for a few minutes. How annoying is it? Wouldn't you rather just take it off?

5th. I doubt you do any type of Martial Arts so I don't expect you to understand how a real fight between two people of skill would go. Not that I'm saying DBZ is real... but, having strands of cloth dangling off of your body would only hender your movements and may very well cause you to trip, or get tangled up in what use to be your shirt. This could result in a very painful punch to the face. I often prefer to fight with my shirt off as to make sure that I don't have anything in the way. Although, if you also do JiuJitsu, you get the added bonus of not having anything for your opponent to grab, throw you, or choke you out with.

In a DBZ related issue, I believe Goku would remove his shirt durring a feirce battle because his shirt was weighted. Removing his shirt also removed something like 100lbs of dead weight from his body allowing him to move quicker. This is the same reason why he removed his wrist bands and boots as well. Weight training like this is no secret, and it's not uncommon to see many Martial Artists practicing their forms, katas, or techniques with weights on their legs to help them build strength and speed. But that's another topic all together.

A suggestion forum for just this type of situation.

Add Judgement to the audio portal

Response to: Audio Portal Posted November 19th, 2003 in General

Glad I'm not the only one that wants to talk about the audio portal...

When I said two categories I was thinking like the flash portal. You would visit the audio protal and everything would be the same. Then you click you're style of music say "Hip Hop" for this example. When the hip hop page loads though, there should be diffrent rateing columns based off of diffrent categories.

Like column one would be the last 20 Hip Hop entries. The next column would be the songs sorted by score, and so on...

I've noticed that you can upload a hip hop beat and come back the next day to find out that 12 techno songs, 5 metal songs, and 3 jazz tracks where uploaded removing your beat from the front page in less then 12 hours. When you visit hip hop, you're beat is dead last because nobody listened to it, and if they did, nobody voted for it. Since it was on the front page for such a short time it didn't even stand a chance and now that it's dead last, everybody will assume it sucks and never check it out let alone give it a score. But if the hiphop section had a column of the last 20 hip hop tracks uploaded, then even tough my beat isnt on the front page it's still at the top of the first column giving it a chance to get some votes before it takes its rightful space in the charts... see what I'm saying?

Being able to remove and add a longer description would be real nice. I wouldn't mind haveing the option to reply to the comments either, although I would prefer a judgement of some kind first.

Response to: Audio Portal Posted November 17th, 2003 in General

It would be nice if there was a "Judgement" for music, or at least a set up similar to the flash portal. I mean, if you submit something new it is automatically placed dead last in that category because all the songs are sorted by score, instead of when they where submitied. You have to hope somebody comes by and checks out your track while it's still on the front page and votes or nobody will ever download your song.

I think each section should have two columns, one for the last 20 submissions of that category, and another sorted by score. That way new entries arn't ignored immediatly.

It would be nice if NG actually cared that the music was stolen as well. I know I've marked at least 10 people as stealing music and NG has yet to do anything about it. Not to mention, one of ABots favorites 2 weeks ago was a kid who recorded himself playing a Metallica song. Sure it was good, but the fact is it was stolen and therefor should have been deleted. I can play guitar too and I don't think playing Jimi Hendrix should count as "The best of the audio portal". In fact I don't think it should count as all. If you can't create your own music, get out of the audio portal.

How would the flash artists like it if I stole their flash film and recorded new vocal tracks to it and submitted it as my own? They would be pissed, it would get blammed, and chances are I would be bannded for a few days. I wish the audio portal had the same restrictions.
