just send it as-is if you don't get it. i just wanted to avoid spending hours converting everyones shit to movieclips. a lot of people don't bother doing the movieclip either way so it's expected to clear a few at least

Ah ok thank you very much, I didnt want to fuck it up so I was putting off putting it in the clip til I figured it out

Now I can use the time to polish the animation a bit

Response to: Merging Layers in Flash Posted January 7th, 2009 in Game Development

no wait if you merge two frames at a time this works out I guess

srry and thx

Response to: Merging Layers in Flash Posted January 7th, 2009 in Game Development

actually nvm this process merges the layers and frames into one single frame

...

no offense, but this is pretty useless.

I have no idea why i'm bothering to do this, but I know a lot of people have had problems with merging layers, so I may as well help those who may have a 1 in a billion chance of stumbling upon this topic and actually finding the information useful. Anyway, to those who - however little the chance - who might need it, heres an easy way of combining layers... or practically combining layers.

First of all:
Click on the timeline and select all of the frames.

Second of all
Press F8.

Third of all:
Select the behaviour to "graphic"

Fifth of all
Give it what ever name you want.

This will merge all of the objects of all of the layers and combine them into one layer and one frame.

WABAM!

Hope this helps. Otherwise you're all free to hate me for wasting your time.

This is actually really helpful, and you gotta realize that finding this topic is as easy as googling "merging layers in flash" so it's not a 1 in a billion chance lol. Tyvm for this.
