Hi All, to begin, we have a budget.

We'd like to have a music video created for the newest single for the band Dreams from Gin. A single, Post Senses, has been picked out. The song is still being overdubbed, and mixed/mastered but the scratch tracks have been uploaded for reference, so we can get the ball rolling.

The first position I need filled is a concept writer. Essentially the song is tongue in cheek, and a bit abstract so the concept should loosely follow that idea. Once we have accepted your idea/concept, your job will be to work with the animator through the process, providing scenes and assuring quality. Animator/Writers are accepted as well. Compensation is 50$ (half upon acceptance of idea and half after implementation).

Once position of Concept writer is fulfilled, we'll need an animator (assuming the writer isn't also the animator). This position will be compensated in reflection of ability/time once the concept has been agreed upon.

The scratch tracks have been posted above. The song length, drum tracks, vocals, bass line, will remain unchanged other than compression/levels/effects etc of the mixing process, and a few guitar overdubs and layers. We decided not to wait until the track was finished because we'd like to get the ball rolling as quickly as possible. Essentially for the concept process, it's good to go.

We expect to get quite a few concepts, payment will not occur unless we accept your concept and you agree to working with the animator. We are also willing to work out agreements for shared profit, if that is to occur. Our Rough Deadline for the whole project is December.

This is our first time creating an animation process like this, so any advice/words of caution are welcome and appreciated from the community. We look forward to working with you!

Making Real Time Music Cut Videos Posted July 4th, 2010 in Audio

Fairly popular on youtube now is making music videos where you play all the instruments in a song, and have video cuts of yourself playing the instrument. Anyways, I've been playing around with this, trying to do one of my original songs on newgrounds in this style. I did it but it took way too long, I had to pre-record the song and act out the scenes separately because I cound't find a feature to snap in video while retaining and overlapping audio on the original video. I'm using Imovie but I am open to newbie friendly software that will make this process easier. Suggestions? Thanks!

Here's the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1jRdQZ_W Pg

(the orginal song is on my newgrounds account)

Playlist Posted February 4th, 2010 in Audio

What they oughtta have is a play through feature, where after playing the song, it goes on to the next highest rated song in the Genre. So you can just set it and let it play. After playing five/ten songs, it would have a 10 second audio ad before going on to the next five/ten songs.

Response to: I'll pay for a custom song Posted January 30th, 2010 in Audio

I'm a singer/guitarist in a rock band currently, while I wound't record a song with the band for your site, not for $26 atleast, as getting into a recording studio with real instruments would be too expensive. However, I would be interested in working for a collaboration if they need a vocalist. I'm a baritone, on the lower side, and have use an SM58. You can hear two examples. Anyone can contact me if interested. Thanks

Not to de-rail this thread...but how does the All-Time list work? A song I submitted, OnOff, managed to get #6 this week, but I don't seem to have crazy high rating/listens or downloads. Meh?

Response to: Demonoid and Waffles.fm Invites Posted January 27th, 2010 in Audio

Demonoid is a great community for music that isn't illegal. I know my band posted our first Ep and our Full album to help distribute and we got great feedback. To say torrenting is just about downloading illegal music/applications. Even NIN albums are distributed for free by the record label, by torrent.

Wow, looks really neat. All the material I'm posting is from my indie/alternative band, dreams from gin, they all have a unique sound and tend to be interesting and different, so I think it'll work perfect -

If your looking for more of rock oriented, These chorus's would work well to sudden fight/explosion scene. Verse's not so much. Listen to the 2:45 Mark to get an idea.

Response to: Anyone play in a performing band? Posted January 13th, 2010 in Audio

Thanks for all the replies, I mostly hear techno/trance on Newgrounds, which is cool, but It's always good to hear about live performance art. I checked out all the links. -

-Ha! Darkness Spawned cover of "get on my horse" is hilarious. I'm not particularly into death metal, thou it is fairly popular in the local scene, where I'm from, Upstate NY.

-Arterial Hemmorage would be more popular as well upstate, I didn't even know the genre existed in Australia.

-Chi-Mo's song was pretty badass as well.

-Vultyrex that's nuts about your Singer dying, drunk driving? what was the name of the band, any recorded music?

-Bjra, in my experience band equipment comes last, and always, ALWAYS buy used off craigslist, resell value on music gear is ridiculously low. Still it's good you had fun, as that's what musics all about, I know some guys in bands who fucking hate it, some of them big bands.

Anyone play in a performing band? Posted January 13th, 2010 in Audio

Just wondering if any of the musicians on newgrounds played in performing bands and if so, what are their names, and give out a myspace link. Thanks!

Response to: Scales Posted January 12th, 2010 in Audio

As a guitarist I usually write songs in C Major, E major, D Minor or D# major. Occasionally I'll slip into a Chromatic scale. However to be honest, I don't think about the scale when I'm writing, or in review or If I'm stuck. Don't be afraid to jump outside of the scales, or switch keys, it will make your music more dynamic or interesting to the listener. Here a song where i went from D Minor for the Verse to D Major for the Chorus, it really makes a punch.

Response to: Networking Music With Flash Artists Posted January 4th, 2010 in Audio

Thanks, I posted in the Flash Forums as well. Still, advice from fellow musicians would be helpful as well. :)

Fairly new to Newgrounds but I really dig the site. I'm a singer/guitarist who performs in a successful local rock band and I have posted a few of our songs. I'd really love to collaborate with a flash artist who wants/needs original real instrument music, background tunes, a clip, whatever! Question is, How do you effectively network with a flash artist? The site seems so big and I don't really know anyone! Thanks for any advice or success stories!
