Before you all accuse me of being a racist because I'm not let me say a few things first. I'm not calling all white people stupid, I'm just telling the stupid white people to shut up. Now let me get to the point.
I'm tired of the idiotic threads that people sometimes make. I'm talking about threads like "Why do black people get offended because of the N-word?" or "Slavery was just work why do black people bitch about it?"
Now before I start I just want to say that I'm not a professer in all of these topics. And most of the things I'm about to say are my own veiws and opinions and my facts might be wrong. Now let me start.
The word Ni**er.
Sometimes on these forums and in real life I hear the question "Why do black people get offended because of that word when it's just a word, and why can't white people say it?"
I hate that question. Yes it's just a word but words have meaning behind them. They can bring out emotions in people. When someone hears a poem or a speech that can bring people to tears, I don't hear people say "it's just words." but I hear that all the time with the Ni**er. Ni**er is the most hateful word in the english language, and it has 400 plus years of hate behind it. I don't know exactly how it makes other black people feel, but I'm guessing other black people fell somewhat like I do about it. When I hear that word come out of a white person I know how that white person feels about me and my race.
I know when he says that word to me he views me and my entire race as peices of garbage who are below his race in every way. That is why we get offended when we hear that word.
And nobody better say to me "but if you look in the dictionary it just means an ignorant person." I hate it so much when people try and use that as an excuse to use the word. I dosen't matter if thats what it says in the dictionary because thats not what people mean when they say it. And yes I know I have the word nigga in my sig and the words Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished underneath that. I know that my sig is kind of hypocritical to what I just said above. But I heard N.I.G.G.A in a song and I wanted to put that in there.
I hope all of that cleard up some issues about the word.
Black Entertainment Telivision (BET)
I don't have as much to say about this as the other topic but whatever. Sometimes people say "Why is there a BET but we don't get a WET?" There is a WET but it's called Television. So stop bitching about BET when white culture is all over the media.
Slavery
I remember a few weeks ago when I was banned I was lurking and saw a thread and the message in it was pretty much "Why did black people complain so much about slavery when all it was only some work?" Slavery was not just some work. And like I said at the top of this page I don't know every single fact about all of these topics so some of what I say might be a little wrong.
So an Africans enslavement might begin in africa, other times a slave could be born and die into slavery. But over in Africa white people would capture the slaves and bring them to boats. And I know that africans would go into their enemies land and bring their enemys to the white man. But people act like it was the africans who started slavery.
White men would also go in and look for slaves and white men would screw over Africans who brought the white men slaves. Horrible things were done to the slaves. Sometimes they would be brought into churches built by white men and they would try to convince the African that slavery was good for his or her soul.
The middle passage was the boat trip from africa to parts of Europe and the Americas. On this boat trip the captured Africans were chained up pretty much the whole time. They were in a dark bottom section of the ship and they were chained up so they couldn't move. If they had to go to the bathroom they would go on themselves. If an african died on the trip the body was thrown overboard to the sharks that learned to follow the slave ships. The slaves had to endure around 3 months of that.
Then the slaves got to where ever their destination was. They were then sold to rich white men at an auction. Most of the time slaves from different tribes were sold the the same white man so that the slaves couldn't communicate.
The slaves would be forced to work all day in the hot sun and then at night go back to a little shack at the back of the feilds and eat the shitty food that their so called master gave them. Many slaves would spend the rest of their lives enslaved by some rich white man.
There are so many more horrors about slavery that I didn't talk about in this post. Now a few more things.
Suffering Today
Many white people say "What are black people angry about, it's the 21st century and black people don't suffer anymore." Thats not true. I will admit that conditions have improved for many people of color, not just black people. But almost all races of dark skin still suffer in ways that white people will never have to experience.
Many people think that racism in this country is gone forever, and thats completley untrue. Malcolm X said "Many klansmen have traded in their white sheets for a police uniform and billy club." And thats true. People of color still have to deal with problems nowadays that people of color dealt with in the 50's and 60's. Things like drug, racism, and violence. You can go into any ghetto in america and see that conditions are still bad. I've experienced these problems firsthand. I spent most of my life in the roxbury section of boston, massachusetts.
The streets there weren't as bad as places like South Central but the problems were still there. So any white person who says black people don't have to suffer today shut the fuck up and go take a walk through the hood.
The United Negro College Fund
I can see why a white person would be angry about this. I don't know any statistics but I'm guessing that more white people get an oppurtunity than black people to get into a good school. So I don't think you should flip out when young black men and women who do good get a chance to succseed. (don't know if I spelled succseed right)
Well I don't have that many charaters remaining and I can't think of anything more to say. If I do maybe I'll make another topic about it.
