Part of the reason that Behemoth was founded was because the creators did not like the idea of expansions and milking and such. They wanted to create original content. So to sum it up, don't expect expansions for any of their games.

So, I have a minor question. Recently, I read a book about AS3. This book was great for learning basic elements such as proper syntax and what not. However, for trying to do what I am learning here, (IE, make basic games in Flash), it sucked miserably.

So my question is, for those that make games, do you write the entire game outside of flash in actionscript text files, and then compile it under flash, or do you make scenes and everything in flash and just apply actionscript to them and the various symbols you would create when say, making an animation.

Yes, now entering 12th time is a factor so I aint in anything now but it was especially choir that helped me to gain a sense or harmony. Thanks to choir, I can now freely compose harmonious songs and have creative melodies and harmonies in my head at all times or the ability to harmonize pre-existing songs as easy as a warm knife through butter. Just hear some of my classical music, especially Almany to see what I have achieved through what I've just said.
I hope I helped.

Hard to do when you are 22 years old and about to start graduate school, :) But I was in a band when I was younger, played the clarinet. It was thanks to this experience that picking back up the music theory was quick and painless.

Alright, so, I've read 3 books now on very basic music composition.

-The Everything Music Composition Book
-Idiots Guide to Music Composition
-Music Composition for Dummies

Now, obviously these aren't the greatest resources in the world. The first half of each book is usually a quick summary of music theory, and the second half is a rush job of trying to explain everything there is about writing music. I have no problems with notation, and I understand basic music theory fine. I know how to write chord progressions, find keys, scales, chords, etc.

Regardless, I am still kind of stuck on where to go and how to "actually compose" music. The books provided examples about how to make basic melodies, and how to tie melodies to chord progressions and such, but any music I listen to sounds drastically different. Even looking at midi files from old games and such confuses me. Some parts there is harmony, some parts there is only a melody, some songs have a percussion background throughout, etc. And of course, the books don't explain much about when to use each.

So, what this long blob of text is really asking, is what should I read/where should I go from here?

Hmm, I recently discovered Street Fighter IV for the PC. This game is a load of fun. However, it sucks without a joypad. So, I think I'm gonna make one.

I'm debating on what I should use as the material for the base. Cardboard is too cheap for me. I'd probably like to use polished wood or some sort of metal that can easily be painted on. Anyone have any good ideas?

Another OS? The OS market is spread around enough as it is IMO. Can't they just build a new *nix variant or something?

There is also the issue that cin can not take space characters in the base form. You have to use other commands for that.

On a completely random tangent here, I have a frame from a Datsun 240Z. Nice, rusted, et al. Does anyone know if a machine shop can build an AutoCAD file using the frame as a template, so a brand new one can be made?

What do you think of Windows 7? Personally I love it compared to Vista (and I really liked Vista), it feels so much more finished, and I've seen it use less resources than XP :o

I actually really like Windows 7 compared to Vista and XP. I didn't think I would, but I tried it out and it is really nice. They have included a lot more in terms of controlling some of the "annoyances" (dialogues and such) from Vista, and have added a lot more in terms of controlling performance for lower end PCs . Also, I love how fast it boots up. Takes about 4-5 seconds to reach the login screen for this PC, where XP takes 11-12 seconds.

So, I just got back from DC. Interestingly enough, all of the public parking garages now require federal ids.

Also, some of the taxi cabs now have "Call 911" signs on top of them. Anyone know what that is all about?

A lot of functional programming languages have GOTO commands. Even C++ does, though you rarely hear about it, and for good reason. Like you said, it should not be used ever if possible, but I'm guessing they had some reason to add it in.

You have never used C# have you? I am guessing the OP is using Visual Studios and even if he is not, Mono comes with a GUI builder as well.

I have used C# maybe once or twice in a windows form application, but other than that, no. You are right, I have not used it.

And the GUI tools you are referring to, are they similar to standard windows GUI tools available in windows forms and MFC?

You should try the manual way of slipstreaming. http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp /view/web/36/SESSID=702acabda3a36db181f9 4fd49a2dd841/
