Well, this seems to be getting a lot of attention, and I think i'm going to use all your current anti-anti story sentement against your oh so impressionable minds. For you see, I am a writer...but before you start hissing...I am a writer who is the exact opposite of this fellow. You see, my idea is a series....a serious, very plot-driven drama/action/sci-fi series. Anyshways, if you may have a bit o interest at all, click right here to check out the basic scoop. Thanks a bunch...and as for the maker of this plot idea thingie.....some advice: If you want to be a Flash writer, crumple this thing up, burn it, and make something that's funny and has a plot....I believe in you :P
You can't rush genius. Give Firth the time he needs/wants or the end-product isn't going to be good. Besides, you whining doesn't make animating a Flash take shorter.

No, I believe Pong was also released in '76, but it was earlier, it was first, and it always will be :P. Besides, the system on the first post seems to be more complex (as it plays multiple games) so I think the Pong system was still first.
Okay, first of all, Ian McKellan is the coolest old gay guy ever, so he can wiggle a chesspiece for hours and keep me occupied :P As for the purpose of this thread, I didn't see the movie Thank You For Smoking but I did read the book, which was great. And the movie has a great cast so I'm guessing it's good :P. Oh yeah, and Frasier kicks ass...but only when he's in blue :P.

Amen brutha. SSBM is the best game ever in my opinion, but not the funniest. Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga is one of the funniest (mostly due to the relentless Luigi abuse and all of Fawful's dialogue), but I think nothing else comes very close to Psychonauts. It's got better writing than most sitcoms on TV today.

Newgrounds is in the top 1,000 I think :P Yay, go us!
Once one gets said .swf onto thy harddrive, how doth one put thy .swf unto thine iPod? Just wondering, cuz I'm havin' trouble doin' that. And the Biblical talk is just for fun :P Oh, and eBaums steals the Flashes through his Elite Tactical Squad that breaks into your house and makes you give him the .swf......the team is headed by Jack Bauer.....

Alright, I've started a bit of scriptwork so I'll post a small sampling of lines from the "man: age early 30's ancient times voice" guy: (Note: where it says "Line", that means the character is talking, if it says "other", thats what different characters are saying and I'm just using it to create context for you if you make a sample)
Line (stopping a fight between two men): Hey, HEY! You two right there! (Sorta grunty sounds from him as he breaks the two apart) Stop this, right now. Names?
Other (sarcastic): Why? So you can call our parents?
Line: I have a job to do. Get everyone on the right train and take my passengers where they need to go. Names, now.
(Others have lines that don't affect character...)
Line: Good. You two are with me. Come on.
Other: Wait just a second, there. Why don't you tell me where the hell we are before I go anywhere with you.
Line: Apparently you don't listen very much, do you?.....Welcome to Purgatory. Follow me.
(Note: say "Welcome to Purgatory" casually epic, if you understand what I mean.....sort of like Christopher Lee in LOTR ordering a pizza :P)
Also, Moose, according to your resume there's a couple other characters I think your voice may or may not be good for (a "cocky male character", a "shy guy", and an "evil man")
Haha. That'd be one ugly lookin' kid (jk....maybe :P) Um...if anyone's a good, sorta realistic animator who may wanna check out a serious-themed series I'm writin' (two other guys under consideration at the moment), just click hya to see the general scoop: "Ghost Town"
The same information and some info on another series I'm writing that still may need an animator (again, other guy in consideration), this one a more cartoonish comedy, is on p. 166 of this thread. Thaaaaaaaaaaaanks!

Well, not really, no they can't. Writing is a talent, and like all talents, you have to either spend time learning it, or be born with it :P. I don't really see why the idea of writers and animators being separate in one movie is so ridiculous. If a screenplay writer doesn't direct, produce, and star in the movie he wrote, are you saying the entire crew and cast is just doing his work for him? (True, in this example money is involved, but still......)
I may have an animator now but I would still like to see if anyone else is possibly interested, I've got room to take everyone into consideration :P So post away!
Hmm....I dunno it's alright, not perfect. I'm writing a flash series and almost have an animator set for it, I'll keep you in mind if I need additional background work.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll hold off on that, though, until my animator is set in stone.

Sigh.....that's just the thing. I haven't yet written most of the series' scripts, this is just to see if anyone's interested so I can keep you in mind when I do. If you read the basics post for the series (I made a link to it, right?) you'd see each episode has "Lost"-like flashbacks of one character. The thing that makes the character you are speaking of a somewhat tricky part to play is that...well....he lived in Roman times, so right now I'm considering doing his flashbacks in Latin with English subtitles, which would make voicing him quite a challenge. I dunno yet, just ideas floating around, but for the most part in the series he would be speaking English anyway, just maybe not in the flashbacks :P
Hey DrWurm......I'm gonna guess that your name is based on the same thing as mine right?
At 6/13/06 10:56 PM, Aenima_09 wrote: here ya go
Wow, thanks very much. I don't really know what that has to do with my name but it sure does look cool :P
Hallo! I am a writer who is just close to the end of my hunt for animators for a Drama/Sci-Fi/Action series, and now the hunt for good voice actors begins! I'm not asking for a huge, full-on commitment to the project, just speak up on this thread if you think you would be good for a role, and I'll keep you in mind and contact you once this thing actually gets made. Here's how I'm gonna do this: Voice type, and in parantheses an example. For now I'm just gonna put a couple voices:
-Old man, but not like senile old, sorta like someone who's in his 60's and is articulate and intelligent (think like Terry O'Quinn aka Locke on Lost but a little bit deeper voice)
-Man, age probably about early to mid-30's. His accent is somewhat hard to describe, think of how actors always sound when they're playing people in ancient times (like Gladiator or Troy or something)
-Man, age about mid-30's, African-American, deep voice, articulate (think Dennis Haysbert aka David Palmer/Allstate Guy)
-Woman, angry, piercing voice, sounds almost like she's hissing (bad guy obviously :P)
There's a bunch more but I'm gonna start simple. If you want to see what the show is sort of about, then go right hya: "Ghost Town"
Hey yall? You think anyone can make a good sig for me? Just use your imagination, my only request is that it has somethin' to do with my name (literally, not the TMBG song)
At 6/8/06 06:20 PM, JimmyDreak wrote: *shrugs* i have yet to see it in ANY medium. and the bible don't count.
Sigh....now where should I start. First of all, the Bible DOES count because technically it's literature, second of all heaven vs. hell wars has been done a thousand times. I saw your other series idea though so if you inflect it with a little originality I think it can turn out good. Ooh, but if there's any animators interested in a possible series project of mine (I'm a writer, and the series is a Sci-Fi/Drama, not Sci-Fi in the traditional sense....just read it) then go hya: "Ghost Town"
(Sorry about the plug :P, keep up the good work :D)
I have a couple other ideas, too, special. If by "not my kind of plot", you mean you like comedy, I have a series for that too. I posted a basics post similar to this one and 2 whole episode scripts on the Writer's Guild thread. If you want I'll make links to that here. And superlunk, can I just send you mssgs on NG private messaging?

That's what this website is supposed to be about: art, publicity, and FUN. Not money, you damn sellouts. Money is a very nice thing, yes, but making a Flash and getting it onto Newgrounds should be about emotional rewards, not monetary ones. Otherwise, (hippie time!) you're just part of the corporations' war machine.......maaaaan.
Sigh. We don't know for sure that it was Tom Cruise is the one who got the episode taken off the air, but it is definitely possible. I think Comedy Central took it off as a desperate final attempt to get Isaac Hayes back. Anyways, I'm sure the episode isn't banned for good, it's still going to be released on DVD and iTunes once they get to that season.
Mua ha ha. There's nothing better than a vengeful scheme coming together. It really warms the heart. Newgrounds is like the U.S. and other Flash sites are like the rest of the world, we are superior, and thus, we choose to protect or destroy them :P Again, Mua ha ha!!!
Oh, one more thing. Don't bring aliens into it, then it'll just be like Crysis :P
Not bad...not bad at all. I'm not an artist btw, just another writer with constructive criticism and a plug for the post with my own cool sci-fi/drama series idea :P "Ghost Town"
Ehem...but uh...anyways, I like the idea, and I sort of agree and disagree with the guy who said not to say anything about the events that caused the apoclypse. I think it would add a ton intrigue-wise if you did your little flashback thing later on in the series, so as to leave viewers in mystery as to WTF happened to the world and why is almost everyone dead :P. Like maybe right from the start go to your main character in (every time you said this I expected a long, dramatic pause and a quick-zoom beforehand) THE CHAMBER and then later do some 'splainin. Phew, alrightey then peace out yo and please check out the link if you wanna leave some criticism or if you're an interested animator.

Lol, yeah, Nintendo rocks, but Mario is the most racially offensive character I have ever laid eyes upon. The accent, the occupation, it's actually pretty hilarious I must admit...but still! Anyways, my favorite characters: hmmm.....it's a tie between probly Fawful from Mario and Luigi (his dialogue was probably all written during drug-induced hallucinations), almost anyone from Psychonauts (that game has the best writing out of any game ever) and Kratos from God of War, because he can rip people in half with his bare hands :P
At 6/12/06 02:22 PM, Otakuclock wrote:space wars or pong
the oldest has to space invaders? no?
The oldest game ever is Spacewar, which was on computers I think. The oldest console game was Pong. And if you want an even more obscure piece of trivia, Did You Know?: that Texas Instruments (best known for your school graphing calculators) actually made a game system way back when....and it sucked.
I still play Super Mario World (originally SNES launch game but I have the GBA remake), And Ocarana of Time (but the Gamecube remake :P)
