In our ActionScript 2.0 situation, DisplayObjects are MovieClips.

Switch over to ActionScript 3.0! You can use a free tool to develop AS3 applications, called FlashDevelop. Coding on AS3 properly will gradually teach the basics of programming. It is possible to code on AS2 properly, but there is not a single tutorial on Internet that will teach you that. And I am not going to. Switch over to AS3.

why is this tool better for me then coding in flash?
and could i get some as3 tutorials? im convinced, im switching, but its not that simple for me cause im used to as2

i love the fact that you have a character from wizards as your message board icon, one of my favorites.

moving with arrows, with easing, Posted September 24th, 2013 in Game Development

well ive managed to program my movie clip to follow the mouse with easing like so:

i was thinking about making a movieclip totally invisible, making it movable with arrows, then have my character follow it with easing, witht he same code on top.
but i cant seem to switch the mouse with the invisible movie clip that simply.
any tips preforming this simple task?
-thanks
