Ouch.. I've heard of that, but it's not very common here in Australia due to our warm weather. Good thing you told someone about it.

You're an idiot.

DO NOT BUY DELL

Firstly you want a motherboard that will support a Core 2 Extreme Processor. I suggest an Asus motherboard. I would recommend a Core 2 Duo E6600 at least, but by all means, go extreme if your motherboard supports it. At least a 500w power supply, buying a new tower normally comes with a power supply built in. Try looking for a gaming tower, normally built with large rear fans and other various coolant methods. At least 2Gb DDR2 RAM for gaming. A sound card will generally give a performance boost, doesn't have to be too flashy, but if your really serious about your gaming, get a good one. 16x DVD drive would make a good drive for all current game. Your hard drive should be about 120Gb+ as games nowadays are begining to take up more and more memory.

I think that's about everything. I may have forgotten something though.. But I'm sure that's everything.

I'll probably realise something I've missed out after posting this then be all "DAMNIT!". I'm too forgetful.

Now seeing as you have gone and said that, I shall assume you have horrible taste in music. Metallica does get kind of mediocre in their later works, but there earlier stuff contains some sheer brilliance. So if you want help, don't go throwing a stupid opinion on the end of your preferred types of music.

Idiot.

So my friend thinks the Wii is 1k+ Posted February 6th, 2007 in General

The Wii recently came on sale here in Australia and can be bought for about $400. I was talking to one of my friends about it the other day and told him I might get one, and he says "Why would you spend so much on a console! Wait for the price to go down man." He then tells me $1600 is just to steep.

WHHHAAAAATTT?

I was looking in a magazine some hours earlier for Harvey Norman (big chain of shops here) at the Wii. He wont beleive me that it's only $400ish. I mean come on, he's claiming it's more expensive the the PS3, which quite frankly, even though I don't like the holow feel of a Playstation, is crap.

I personally don't even think the Wii should be $400. I saw an add for it, and the graphics look horrible.

Okay, so wait a fucking second.
A junior to you is grade ____.
A senior to you is grade _____.
Is there 12 or 13 grades?
And...yeah.
I'm American.

Kindergarten through to grade 6 is primary school. I was 5 when I started Primary school. 7 through to 12 is high school. 7, 8, 9 and 10 are the junior years and 11 and 12, the senior years. (Primary school and high school here are two different schools. Though there are some that combine both in the one school. Which I think would suck.)

I don't really understand how it works in America, but that's how it is here in Australia. At least NSW anyways. So once I've finished grade 12, I'm of to university.

Hope that made sense :P

So at our school we elect students to be in the SRC. Not sure what it stands for, but they organize all the school events etc. So one of the little year 7 junior kids came around to our English class period 4 with the voting papers. They consist of a bunch of names with boxes to label them in order of least favored to most favored.

To my horror, there's my name. Right there listed on the damn slip. I hear a murmur of giggles and laughs build up across the room amongst the 'morons' as most would refer to this bunch as. I look out the window across the walkway to see my friends in the next room laughing and pointing maniacally.

Naturally I vote myself last as I don't wont to win this horrible privilege. It includes changing role-call room, making announcements in assembly, attending meetings and befriending teachers.

Some time later I get a slip sent out to me to go see the Principal. Turns out I won, with the majority of the votes. I fail to see the humor in voting that loser guy who never talks to go and suddenly be a member of the SRC.

Naturally, I rejected this offer, and returned to my daily life of breezing through school.

Never have I been so embarrassed, but thats life!

So I uh.. Deleted the whole 'CLSID' from the registry on my gaming PC (it was an attempt to remove some stuff left by some unwanted programs) and now the damned thing wont even boot up.

So I can't get in to do a System Restore or anything. It wont even let me get into settings fom the boot up. It just freezes.

I tried putting in the WIndows disc to see if I could repair it but it wont read it. It's completely fucked.

I've got so much stuff on that PC I would die if I lost it to a format D:

There HAS to be a fix to this, anyone out there have any ideas?

The video thread pisses me off. If you think about it, some guy makes a thread 'Post all videos here', so people go about finding videos they like, then posting them in that thread.

This then destroys any chance of a cool video finds being recognised by the general public. Some guy might find the coolest video ever, but have to post it in the video thread, where it will be buried amongst mountains and mountains of crap.

We miss out on so many great finds by people, because they're forced to put in that silly thread. People don't even post links to videos that much any more anyway.

MODERATORS: Lock the video thread, and give those great videos a chance! Sure there'll be some crap, but you guys put up with parody threads for Christs sake!

As a previous poster said, people think Australia is all 'outback'. Fucking stupid. The whole east coast nearly is populated, civilized area. NOT A DESERT ON THIS SIDE. We have rainforests and all sorts down the East Coast. If you came here, it would destroy what you previously thought about Australia.

You could walk down a street in Sydney or Melbourne and hardly notice the difference to any of your American cities.

Same goes for the towns, suberbs, whatever!

Australia is where it's at >:(

East side atleast. I dislike the rest of Australia where there's Kangaroo's, desert and funny accents.

Australia. Posted January 27th, 2007 in General

It's sad that,

1.) There's this idea of Australian's being built on incest and convicts.

If you knew what you were talking about, you would know that during the time the British were shipping out many convicts, was due to over population in the cities. This led to being arrested and deported for the slightest crimes.

Our nation is built on good, hard working, honest people. We have the least amount of incest out of all the major nations, and some of the finest produce and products are made here.

2.) I'm not even really Australian anyway.

My parent's moved here from Europe in the 60's or 70's (Not sure exactly when or where [Don't really care]). I've got Australian citizenship and am proud to say I live here, but I'm not really anything like the people here.

People think, "Well there from England so there British!". Well you see, people have this ability to adapt. Most Australian people you will find are nothing like the British. We are a whole different type of people on our own. Just like Americans are Americans, British are British, Africans are Africans and so on and so forth.

3.) Yes our education sucks in some areas.

It's true, there are allot of run down places here with poor education. Especially some urban places that really span out vastly here. I'm lucky to say I live away from all that, still amongst a community (not out in 'the bush'), but away from the general population of soon to be construction workers.

In areas like where I am, the Public schools are wealthy and provide excellent education, and the Private schools are for vandals, druggies and criminals. The education may be good there, but the extra restrictions really bring out the worst in people.

The good places to be for education here are cities mainly (Sydney especially, there are some great schools there). I live about two hours drive from Sydney, past the urban sprawl. It was a farming community some years ago, but now it's more developed, with towns, housing etc.

There's a lot of stereo types for the Australian people, but I live here, and for not really being Australian, I can tell you, it's not a bad place to live.

Cheese out.
