Why care?

Live your life and designate your own meaning to it.

Paradox solved. You exist.

Sounds like people with all that music genre snobbishness. Get over being raving fanboys already and savor things, enjoy the creativity and effort you're dealing with every day.

Appreciation is not a strong suit for many North Americans or Europeans, it seems.

Response to: Why'd you choose that aura? Posted November 9th, 2011 in General

Old thread is overdone, but what the hell, I suppose.

I choose light 'cause I view myself as a good person, primarily utilitarian and ready to assist in most morally sound endeavors I can help out with in some form or another.

I'm also a major fan of the color blue and the serenity and peace it usually symbolizes in modern society, the calming splash of something soft and gentle in the otherwise urban, unyielding world that surrounds me...

Response to: dream about redesign Posted November 9th, 2011 in General

It's your secret inner desire to worship the egotistical and blatantly rude, or "alphas". Sevvy basically already formed a mindless fan-club for herself that genuinely praise her antics to get into her good graces... all fairly subconsciously, of course, as they mostly just find the humor of bad trolling amazing.

Psychology is the shit, bro.

Yeah, Adblock helps, but I don't use it and haven't seen a pop-up in ages. A proper antivirus system or a multitude thereof is so much better and still let's there be legit, mostly unobtrusive ads on the side.

This could be a country specific deal though - seeing as the OP claims to live in Scotland.

Buy or sex. Can't forget the appeal of pleasure versus morals.

Anyways, I would prefer the first reason. Ego is not a necessity, but drive should exist in everyone's life and should propel them towards a mastery of something. Specialization is good, but the choice of what you can specialize in, preferably something you enjoy, is infinitely better than being forced to do something all your life.

I don't envy the stereotypical brilliant Asian kid. Not at all.

This used to be a much bigger problem than it is now around three to four decades ago, but Tokecat is right when he talks about biological makeup.

Disclaimer - I don't promote either. Actually, I hope to never even try cigarettes myself, and have decided alcohol based drinks are no better a beverage than any quality non-alcoholic swill. Plus I'm a lightweight in terms of tolerance based on my experience with some German beer, so no more for me.

bluh.

What bugs me is the ability to ignore the crystalline-clear health risks in these people. They don't think ahead for themselves and continue relentlessly to consume both, without any visible pangs of guilt or conscience, and often may ruin their entire life that way. If I had my say people would be bitch-slapped for defending their habits so venomously, but I don't so boo-hoo.

The ideal solution is to convince people that you may not purchase alcohol without an I.D. . Period. That and tell parents to hide the drugs in a secure, secret location. The parents aren't completely at fault, I mean, party-goers can always score some stuff if they look around just a little bit. The ultimate fault lies in the individual's choice and it would be nice if they were punished accordingly for once instead of allowed to continue by a shy, sue-happy society.

Slap bitches, people - don't fear the lawsuit.

Ow, wall of text. >_<

Response to: How do you deal with anger? Posted October 27th, 2011 in General

Don't even get angry. It's not so much a matter of holding it in as the perception of rage at any given moment and how you react. Owning a small ego certainly helps out in that department.

People enjoy talking before going out on a date nowadays if they have any brains to them whatsoever.

Response to: Classical versus Jazz Posted October 27th, 2011 in General

I like both, but jazz more so.

Not because I'm pretentious myself, no, despite my stupid username. I enjoy them because they are musically interesting and entertaining, able to throw some cool gags at you out of the blue and be intensely emotional if well-written.

I'm a huge ass fan of electronic and jazz fusions - especially of the Amon Tobin, Squarepusher, or The Flashbulb varieties. They're truly interesting and different from most other generic, non-creative music.

Classical can't usually be distorted as nicely as jazz, but the most moving and sad of classical will always stick in my mind and leave me feeling, well, emotionally moved. It's a shame that such a huge amount of modern classical is devoid of emotions and feels barren, like an algorithm was used to compose it and no more.

Response to: No redesign?! Posted October 25th, 2011 in General

ITT - at the moment - hypocritical critics and haters.

I don't see how you can vote Cyanide and Happiness shorts into the top fifty and then hate on something more intricate, compelling, longer, and most importantly more original in terms of plot than the vast majority of stories. This crashed the site for a reason, after all. Bono had better be trolling or learn to use Flash properly himself and appreciate these things.

Have a hearty "BLUH" from me to you.
