Harbinger Posted November 28th, 2011 in General

Hello world.
My name is DonCarrera. I fear I'm functioning as a harbinger of sadness in this situation.

River is dead.

Yes, my best friend in life and only person I've ever truly trusted outside of my own family ~ is dead.

Rivergrey died on 11 / 28 / 2011. She was struck fatally by a drunk driver on the way home from a night out on the town. She hadn't drank anything herself, but it all happened too quick. It was a merciless hit and run incident, the driver not even stopping once to see what had happened according to the few eyewitnesses to be found.

The lady responsible has now been apprehended and faces heavy charges, as well as a potential lawsuit from her parents.

I still can not believe her life ended so soon.

Sometimes...

Sometimes these sort of things make you think about how fragile human life, and existence as a whole, can be.

Now is one of those times.

< / 3

~

I may not believe in the afterlife on a personal level, but... if there were to be something else in life after life itself, then I wish the absolute best for her. Truly.

~

In the process of commenting on derails I've indirectly cause a derail. Fuck my life.

Anyways, the above stuff still stands. That's all I can think of, and I hope whatever facets are left unanswered can be solved for you by more experienced individuals.

Oh god this. Most sneaky derail in BBS history.

Aside from that, everything that could have been said seriously already has been said. If you wish to risk getting caught, go ahead. If you change your mind, I'm fine with that too.

Your choice... just don't drive under the influence and help give minors a bad name. Joyrides don't turn out joyful if you end up dead.

"The think about common se-" yada yada quoting shit to make me seem smarter.

Point is, very few people are sensible with firearms. More often than not people just shoot themselves than deter any actual crime, as numerous studies have shown.

Mutually assured destruction worked and still does work, but transferring that example to an entirely different situation could just be disastrous in the long run.

Unlike you lot, I look back at my earlier posts and wish I was as eloquent as I once was. Newgrounds officially screwed over whatever initial sense of effusive verbosity I may have originally harbored.

Dammit. >:(

I've tried out a bootleg TB-303 bought entirely legitimately once.

Needless to say, filter envelopes are a royal pain in the ass to manipulate when you've got thick wool gloves on. Never again, and most certainly not if it just happens to still be snowing outside,, as that would just be doubly stupid.

Response to: Damit we have no culture Posted November 18th, 2011 in General

The statement has already been debunked rather eloquently and forcefully, so I'll take another aspect of it.

I live Europe. Berlin, or the capital of Germany to be more precise. This is a big city. As a big city, we have so much less culture and style than places like New York, Boston, Chicago, or even the wonderful city of Seattle. There are no interesting or redeeming values to be found in this place and I absolutely loathe living in such a bland, closes society.

To all those who claim the US has no culture - shut the fuck up. That's not even an Ad Hominem attack, but rather a thought out demand. You've likely never even visited both and can't draw a valid comparison like that on a personal, educated level. Quit speaking out of your asses and get out of your everyday living quarters for once, go places, and learn about the world around you.

Speaking of bass in funk, have a dusty, somewhat badly mastered mixtape that exemplifies the use and brings those funky lines to the foreground enough for the average listener.

excuse some of the shitty songs though, there's no accounting for taste

Caring aboot the life and experiences of others in the world obviously comes much further down the line for many. +1 posts abound and people repeat opinions due to not reading threads - guilty and hypocritical myself if you think aboot it.

I'm not in all this for the stats though. The forums are where it's at and there are plenty of interesting people on here, spanning many backgrounds and cultures, all having one interest in common yada yada big speech yada bluh. Point is that everybody here is a bloody character, monotone or deep, likable or not. You're interesting and exciting to converse with.

If you're referring to those highly-developed synthetic babies, then stop right there.

Fact is plenty of schools are forcing entire classes to take care of these things and prove a certain sense of responsibility. This test can be started anywhere from early high- to early middle school according the US system, and the students are graded based on their attentiveness, as these things often have sensors to detect environmental abnormalities, abuse, or an overload of theoretical shit in their diapers.

I find these to be good idea. They assist individuals into becoming more responsible and foster good parental habits and schedules, not necessarily just making them better parents but also making normal school seem like a breeze after these maddening hardships.

If those are not what you're talking about... fuck.
