When you look at your timeline, go to the audio layer. then go over to your properties tag, go to sync and select "Stream". This way the sounds will play when you select them in the timeline. If this doesn't solve your problem lemme know via inbox
also please ignore my hundreds of layers. organization is an option, not a privelage. hope it helps

anybody know why the icon in my newest project is the default NG one? the uploaded one does not seem to show up. plus i think im in the wrong forum, but if anyone can help, please!

Okay. So I have a project due today, and my Swivel is not working. I need to submit an mov :(. could anybody climb on skype and help me out REAL quick? I will love you forever! my skype is Chris Durg or Chrisdurg
I think it all depends on your styles and how they blend (animation and writing). If your animation is not great and you are trying daunting work such as explosions and car crashes, then perhaps you can play off of the lack of reality in the animation, like South Park for example.
As for myself, even though i'm just starting out, I try to keep little movement and if a character has to move, I will make him do it swiftly, more like jumping than actually cycling a walk. I would try to make your first script less than 3 pages, and for dialogue, try to be natural, maybe not following word for word but improving a little (too much is dangerous!) I think one of the hardest things is coming up with a 1 minute long story with the perfect amount of actual animation. Maybe start out with like a convo and end up with some quick action at the end. Also I would look at artists like SpeedoSausage or KawaiiPirhanna because they don't have too much complicated movements, but just enough to get their points across. If you have any more questions feel free in inbox me! :)
I would LOVE to do this! I have 5.5, is that cool?
I'd love to be part of this, if i can think of something to animate in one second!
don't know too much about motion tweening, and that's (i think) because classic tweening is meant for almos all 2d animation in between needs. I think you should double check your keyframes and your timeline. let me know if you are still having problems after looking at that and i will help you via skype or somethin!
siked to have a runner up posish! thanks P!
So I realize that maybe this should go in to "Collab" forum, but I feel like more people (atleast animators), check this one. Anyways, I had the idea of starting a series of very short videos (:15-:30), about a well known character, right now i'm thinking Charmander, but if we come up with a better one I am very open minded. Thinking of calling it like "Charmander Learns" and just having Charmander in different social situations like in a classroom, on a date, stuff that we do everyday, because i want to make a lot of these, and maybe even one a week (they are supposed to be funny/stupid, like PsychicPebbles style humor for example). I know my animation skills are not great but I am getting better with each Flash I make, and I also am doing this for the fact that I want to work with somebody who is dedicated and creative, so please, if you are not interested in making something awesome and fun, don't bother contacting me. Like I said before, we can work out the details and brainstorm and I do want creative control to be equal, but I do want somebody who can help me with either backgrounds or design. If you can't do those things you can PM me anyway and if things work out we'll take it from there! So let me know if you are interested or have any ideas! Thanks bros!

I would love to help you if you still need people. I recenlty got a good microphone so PM me or let me know!

there are a lot of good ones on Netflix, but as far as animation, some are much better than others.
The Simpsons has in my opinion the best directors of animation, meaning the camera angles use of space and time.
Family Guy has really no real animation in the sense of movement to it.
SpongeBob has some of the best audio and facial expressions and is truly a great cartoon in every sense of the word.
One you omitted was Hey Arnold. The animation is awesome when it comes to almost everything (music, character design, backgrounds, movement).
Ren and Stimpy is also one that a lot of animators are inspired by as far as animation and audio and even humor. Hope this helped!
PS. These are all on Netflix!
spent all day at my workspace today

Yea he's kinda supposed to be designed simply, as a metaphor for his shallowness and simplistic nature.
just kidding I'm just not a great artist, but I 'm obviously gonna spend more time on a bunch of things, thanks

Someone post animations you enjoy, have made, or are working on.
Answer some questions! Ask interesting ones..
Make tutorials, ask for some critique.. SOMETHING.. I hate coming to this thread and seeing nothing I want to comment on :(
POST SOME ANIMATIONS YOU ENJOY ON THIS ON NG OR OUTSIDE NG :)
I agree with what you're saying Jom, but at the same time, this site is designed for things to be looked at critically, and those who contribute to most of the sites traffic, are doing to in places like the portal, and new submissions. But it's true, kinda sad there isn't more of an active community on here. But with that being said I started a new thread asking for critique on a character design/idea, since we can't go on this one forever. Check it out!
So I've been writing a story for an animation, and I want to try something dark (comedy) and different, and weird sort of, with erie music. I was wondering what you guys felt about my character "Haze" design (too simple?), and the idea of the animation over all. It's basically going to be like him running away from home, and it is very inspired by Yotam's Nameless 6. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

I don't think you're going to get anything free, besides pencil and paper. but as far as software goes, Anime Studio has programs as low as 30 dollars. not sure how great they are though.

I really want to do this and and advice would be appreciated
Maybe sketch and do your contour lines, then make a new layer, and draw over it using onion skin. but that would take forever. practice practice practice.

DUDE I DRAGGED OT EVERYWHERE. don't know why that came out in caps
okay so i was on a roll with a new flash movie and i slipped up on my tablet and somehow my stage ended up in a new window, and i really can't edit or do ANYTHING with it like this. I am new so if somebody could help me out, i'm sure there is a simple solution. thanks bros!

okay so i have a problem that i'm hoping is easily solved.
Whevener I am editing my audio and doing mouth animations I click the sounds later, before the actual keyframe and wave, and it plays the whole mp3 continually, but only if i click before the keframe starts. also this makes it extremely difficult to lypsinc, as i can't pause the scene every 2-3 frames and sway mouth symbols. has anyone else ever had this problem? please help if you can! thanks!
as someone who is also very new to animating, i think the most important thing is to do what comes natural. draw shapes you enjoy and wouldn't mind doing frame by frame. eventually it will evolve and fit better.
Thanks Bud!

thanks man.
and for the sweet and sour bwac stuff, are there going to be tags to decipher submissions?
i have been using flash for about 6 months now and just started recently adding audio and dialougue. I use Adobe Audition and the quality sounds great, i use the mic on my MacBook Pro. But when I convert it to mp3 and import it to my library in Flash CS5.5 it sounds very muffed and flat. My NG submissions sound quality sucks, so I am forced to export it as a mov, then lace the sound files over again in Premiere, and they sound great on mov files and on youtube. Can anybody help me? thanks!
why not just have people help and spend their own money/time?
can somebody help me and tell me how to link my youtube adress at the end of my swf movie?
