Considering I'm an NG audio artist who has contributed to this forum numerous times in the past, I don't think too many tears will be shed by me posting a little "who made this" thread. And thank you guys so much for the help.

It's an audio stream so you don't need to download anything. I recorded it with my iPod headphones/mic from the radio so quality is shit, but you can still tell what it is. Who made this song guys?

Topic: Cat ran away..

Posted: 05/10/09 05:47 PM

Forum: General

You never realize what you have until its gone. I had the best fucking cat in the world.. Every night before I went to bed, my cat would do that rub-your-face-on-you thing and when I'd pet him, his ass and tail would shoot in the air. Then he'd curl up and fall asleep with me. The door was left open today and he slipped out. Being scared as fuck, he ran off. No idea where he's at now and it's extremely depressing. What is it with pets that cause such a strong emotional bond?

I didn't realize the legal repercussions this could cause.. I mean.. Why would the artists send their remix pack with WAVs and MIDIs into the web if they didn't want it remixed? And if it comes to it, should I perhaps remove the prizes, and leave only bragging rights as the prize? I don't want any issues here.

It's all good man. Like.. I really don't mean to advertise here, but I need everyone to know what I mean.

Hear how the vocals are sped up to 170ish BPM? And how the vocals seem echoy? And how the melody is nothing like the original?

Trying to help some of you out ;)

I've been hearing a lot of dry vocals so far. No reverb, no delay, nothing. It really takes away from the song. You guys can do anything to the vocals. Change the pitch if you want! Cut it, slice it, this is your track!

Length requirement? Good thinking Envy, didn't think of that. I mean, I'm not too strict. Try to keep it over 2, maybe 3 min. As for Darren's question, go ahead and do whatever you want to the vocals. This is your song; do with it what you will.

No. I think Nate got mixed up when he made the contest. It IS a remix pack, but it doesn't have the acapella.

Yeah, I fucked up. Scratch that off the list.

That wasn't... by chance referring to my song is it? I mean, considering it's the only one up.

No, not at all. IMO maybe some more time into the song may have been a better option, as we have a month until the competition is over.. But as for quality, it's good man.

See if I can figure anything out with it.

I disagree. I recommend Deep Spirit - No Cover Song. It's about 144 BPM and rather hands-upish.

Yes, you must choose one of the remix packs. And as for judging, I don't see a problem with it. PM me if you would like to judge and I'll be sure your vote counts when we review all the submissions.

Hey everyone. Natedog here with a new contestorama. Before you press the back button, there will be prizes!

Here's the general idea for this contest: I will provide several remix packs from various artists. Some acapellas are DIY and most are direct studio acapellas. Most contain a MIDI file, but this is mainly for tempo information. You have a better chance of winning if the song is original.

I want to hear who can take one of these remix packs and turn it into something orgasmic. There will be three grand judges: Maestro, Rig, and myself. I encourage any genres, not limited to electronica.

The Remix Packs:
1. Breeze & Lost Witness - Rise Again
2. Dan-J - A Lonley World
3. Darren Styles & Francis Hill - Come Running
4. Deep Spirit - No Cover Song
5. Dj Rad Feat Zoe - Come Home
6. DJ Carpi - Power of Pleasure
7. Groove Coverage - 21st Century Digital Girl
8. Guru Josh Project - Infinity
9. Manian - Hold Me Tonight
10. Rakshan - Electronic Bitch
11. Styles & Breeze - You're My Angel

Prizes:
Tom has generously donated 100 store credits to the contest.

First: 75 credits + happyness
Second: 25 credits + kinda happyness
Third: Nothing + crying.

Only two submissions per artist. Deadline to submit is one month from today: May 5th by 11:59:59 PM Newgrounds time. Anything beyond that will not be accepted.

Thanks and happy music mixing!

Kind of ironic.. On the list of coolest people out there, (the one with Daniel Craig at the top, lol) animator was at the bottom. I wonder what the flash animator of that movie was trying to say, haha.

Wanted to make a fun, unique electronic song with a happy bassline and child-like vocals (obviously to insinuate the childlike qualities of this competition's goal).

Will change the title to something more appropriate if necessary.

That's an acid lead and I believe Z3ta+ has some of those presets. It's best to make your own in TS404. Google Acid tutorial TS404.

Topic: Musician Of The Year

Posted: 01/28/09 12:57 AM

Forum: Audio

Artist of the year would be difficult to say. PianoForte is an amazing pianist, Envy can make sidechaining his bitch, and DaGrahamCraka has some amazing progressive trance. Cornandbeans can make any genre squeal like a piggy, F-777 can make a kickass megamix (and have a sweet ass fucking name.. Jesse Valentine is fucking 1337), and Sp1r1t knows how to express himself through his music. Karco is great, Kr1z give me wet EDM dreams, and the long forgotten tf-ownedyou gave me some nostalgia. Maestrorage gives me raging hard ons with his classical capabilities and DavidOrr for the same reason.

I have no idea, as there are SO many great artists. If I HAD to choose an artist based on overall performance for the year of 2008, i think it would go to Envy. He just popped out of nowhere with his sexy ass sidechaining and his unique melodies.

Just IMO, no one kill me now ;)
