I understand that the Phillies are just trying to screw with the Yankees by giving them a little hope, and then ripping it out from underneath of them, but this is getting a little out of control.

Topic: Any movies that make you cry?

Posted: 10/25/09 01:51 AM

Forum: General

Yeah...

So movies that make me cry are as listed:

1. The Notebook - I've only seen the movie all the way through once - I've seen it a couple times after the initial watching, but I stop it 20 minutes before the ending when my eyes start to tear up, because I know I will cry for hours after wards.
2. Beaches - Give me a fucking break. It was one of my favourite movies growing up, and without fail... I cry. I've even tried to watch it to prove to myself that I wouldn't cry, but I do.
3. Titanic - I wasn't really affected by all of the dying people like everyone told me I would be, but when Jack and Rose were floating on that piece of driftwood... it was all downhill from there.
4. Steel Magnolias - Even though I hate Julia Roberts - this movie gets me everytime.
5. Driving Miss Daisy - Has anyone else cried at this movie... or even seen this movie? I feel like I am the only one.

Posted: 10/24/09 11:06 PM

Forum: General

For most people they just don't want to apply themselves. My two best friends in high school (and grade school) didn't even graduate with me. They're not stupid people, either. They've just never had the motivation to do their work (and still don't, really). People eventually get so far behind that instead of catching up they'd just rather quit school.

They did eventually graduate, btw.

What's really funny is while you're beating up an inflatable doll in front of his house in hopes that he'll notice you - he probably won't even be home. Will he be sitting at home by himself on the night of show's premiere?

Twilight has lots of fans.
I love the Beatles but populatiy does not equal quality.

Well, sure, but... I highly doubt in 50 years we're all going to still be talking about Twilight. The Beatles are still talked about for a reason.

And to FUNK's original post - even if the main reason The Beatles became popular was because of "raving fans" they've obviously proven that there was more too them than that. Granted, I am a little biased since I grew up listening to them - and was named after one of their songs by a complete Beatles fanatic, one of your aforementioned "raving fans", my mother - but I think the people who judge them are the ones that haven't actually sat down and taken the time to really listen to their music. Sure, I get tired of hearing "Can't Buy Me Love" and "She Loves You" on the radio all the time, but you need to really listen to them as a band that really matured (musically..) as they went on.
