All of those ideas sound fantastic. The soldiers through time idea sounds amazing and hard, but if you decide to animate that one I think it would turn out fantastic. I wish you the best of luck on that.
However, don't rush your ideas. Good luck deciding on an idea and good luck animating it. I can't wait to see it.

That would be awesome if it did that. I'm just happy that I was able to get involved with many talented animators. I can't wait until this is finished and I really do hope it sets collab standards higher for everyone here on Newgrounds. Shortmonkey has really done a good job setting a good example on how a collab should be run. I'm not trying to suck up either, I truly believe that.

Badass....simply badass....
I sat here at work watching it over a dozen times until my eyes went blurry. I watched every frame and each one is its own quality piece of art. It is just an amazing piece of work. Very nice job.

Okay, part 36 is sent. I think we should do a Michael Jackson Song collab next. :D
Not only do I love how your part turned out, I love this idea! There are so many songs to choose from (Thriller alone has so many hits) we would have no shortage of ideas.
Arhg...must not lose focus on this collab.... >_X

Wow. It's turning out more violent than I thought. It's pretty sweet though. Nice work. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I love the artwork and the effects. The overall spooky feel to it is awesome and I would change a thing about that. What you have now is a nice spooky tone which works amazingly with the song. The only gripe I have with it, and it is small, is the animation of him raising his head. Right now it looks like the hood raises to reveal his face. If you were going to go back and tweak it I would make it look more like he is raising his head.
However, what you have right now is awesome! Great work!!!

after i'm done with some details... i'm still debating upon whether he should just throw the demon out of the mirror or pull him out and knife him in the head.
I wouldn't have him simply pull him out of the mirror and throw him but the knife-in-head idea also doesn't sound good for me for some reason.
Maybe throw him into something sharp, like an oddly sharpened coat-rack or something. Or throw him out the window and have him land on a fence. That would be pretty brutal but also awesome! The could just draw him on the fence post and use some tweens for some fancy camera work. You could make a breeze flow on him as well for an added creepy look.
And don't forget the glass breaking when he throws his hand in there.
Otherwise your part is coming along awesome!
Man I can't wait until this is done!!! It is going to be amazing to see all these great pieces together in one movie!!! =D

Wow...I'm not sure how to respond to that. So I'm just going to go back to work and forget I ever saw it.
lol
I have a question. I've had this on my mind a while and I think now is an appropriate time to ask. How will co-author's be decided? Or are you keeping that secret until the movie comes out? heh heh...
Just wondering. I can't wait until this is out!!! WOOO
I like Yoink's part so far. Can't wait to see the final product.
And Coldreaver's artwork just looks badass so far!
I really can't wait until this is finished and see everyone's part in action. It will be sweet!!!
I was able to put the finishing touches on Part 31 tonight. I think it turned out great. Since I couldn't figure out the ending I took it as a sign to leave it how it was. I think it turned out alright.
Please tell me what you'd think.
Good luck to everyone else still working on their parts!!!

Sorry to hear that. At least the whole thing wasn't completely ruined. Good luck fixing it. I hope everything works out.

My part is coming along well. I've added some backgrounds and shading and FINALLY figured out how to end it. I should be done by the end of the week.
I'm so glad this is almost done! It's almost been a year!!!
Hey everyone. Just got back from vacation, and holy hell did I miss a lot!!!
My part will be done soon. I just got a job so while I've been able to sketch some of my other projects out I've been unable to get animating time in. However I will not bail on you guys. I'll finish my part and I WILL NOT be the clutch on this project.
I love the menu and bios and everyone already! I like the band pics in the bios section, and I think we should keep them in somehow, but what about if each artists submitted their own pic? Maybe we could have the band pics in the corner or something as long as the filesize doesn't get too big. I don't know, just a though. Whatever happens everything looks sweet!!!
I would hope I remain active on the site. I'll be 23 by then, hopefully working on my master's degree in something, somewhere. I'll probably be the same person by then regarding what my interests are, since I'm planning on getting a degree in computer science to pursue a career in video game development. That's a career path right up Newground's alley.
I hope I'm more active on the site than I am now. Since I discovered the site I have become increasingly more active on the site. I started out simply watching movies and playing games, got an account sometime later, submitted a flash, made a new account, and recently attended a Newgrounds meet. So hopefully with that track record I'll be a more active community member somehow in five or even ten years.

I'd actually take his advice. Reading can be an enjoyable experience and the perfect way to pass the time. If you're reading something interesting the time flies by like nothing. I'm currently reading a book called Uranium and it is very good. I recommend giving that a read. Or get a good fiction book.
If you really don't want to read a book than learn something new. Summer is the perfect time to actually learn something that you WANT to learn. I see you have some flash in the portal. Its a perfect time to improve those skills or work on another movie.

Part 11
It does look a bit better, but truthfully, I don't think that many people would notice it. But whatever, I'll resend this.
Very nice! I love the amount of action going on in the background. It gives the piece many more elements to enjoy. And even if most people don't notice the little things, it is the people that do that counts. Look at it this way. If people watch your work a lot because they like it, eventually they will start to see little things that urk them. If you give them less and less little things to pick at, than you have happier fans.
Again, awsome part. Now I just have to finish mine.
At 5/27/09 06:44 PM, ShortMonkey wrote: Where those parts you resent to me just yesterday newly animated? I did not download them because I already have the parts (don't worry, I'll add your signature on your part you forgot to put it on).
No. Except for my signature (sorry..forgot to break it up) everything is the same. I was talking about Part 31. I put in a few hours of work on it today. I re-animated a few parts that looked sloppy and fleshed out pre-existing still shots.
At 5/25/09 09:47 PM, YoinK wrote:
and we're about 71% finished now. :D
Sweet. Now that school is finished for me I can put more time into my remaining part and increase that percentage a little. I was looking at some parts today and decided to re-draw and re-animate some parts. I must have been in a sloppy mindset or something because they do not look good anymore.
I'm confirming my attendance to the meet.
I'm also bringing my friend pijju and girlfriend islandchick as well.
At 5/11/09 08:19 AM, ShortMonkey wrote: Megamouse24, looking good but that background is still ugly and the part could do with some animation.
I have an idea for you part to give it some animation. That still shot of the character is brilliant. I would have that be the final frame of some sort of turning motion. Maybe have him face away from the audience and have him turn towards us. An additional zoom effect would make this even better.
Then have the wind blowing on him before the camera zooms in on his face. It would give it some depth while maintaining it's simplicity.
Hope I'm not intruding on your part. Just a tip. Good luck with it. The artwork is nice.
Sorry for the recent inactivity on my part. End of the school year projects and exams have taken their tole on me. AP exams are next week and then I'm pretty much done with school. I have to finish up a few other projects, and then I'll have more time to finish my part.
Despite these setbacks I've been able to get some work done on Part 31. I thought I'd post it here to show that I'm not dead. No backgrounds or major animation has been added, so right now it's really just a colorful storyboard.
I agree with Coldreaver on the bios. It would be nice for views to get some more information on the people who made the collab, especially the lesser known members.
A Michigan meet up? In Ann Arbor? Pinball Pete's? Necto? The Diag? These words make me a happy man.
If I'm around I'll try to stop by. I only live an hour away in the boring capital city so I don't need to worry much about staying the night. Hopefully I'll be in town for this.
Nice to know a lot of Newgrounders live around Ann Arbor since I'll be living there next year for school.

AWESOME!!! The menu looks amazing. And nice on getting a backup for the collab.
Did you get the Part 18 I sent you or do you need me to send it again?
I'll resend you Part 18 as well.
Also, I'll take Part 31. I've got some sketches done for it already.
World War II is definitely my favorite war to study.
The war was the most destructive war in all of human history, meaning there are hundreds of battles to study. Each battle has it's own interesting facts and something can be learned from almost every one. The new advancements in weaponry, tactics, and sheer destructive force(the nuke) can give one chills as to how powerful human destruction was back in the 1930's and 1940's, but also how much we have evolved since then.
The politics of the war was also amazing. The politics after World War I and the decisions leading up to the war can give governments today a lot of lessons in diplomacy and strategy. Socially, one can study each country involved in the war and see why their people supported or opposed war. Why did the German people follow Hitler so blindly? Why was Japan so imperialistic and powerful? Why did American REALLY join the war(besides Pearl Harbor). Hundreds of studies can be conducted during these years.
The economic impact on the world, especially America, is also amazing to study. The war pulled America out of the Great Depression and started a whole new industrial age in the country. The factories built in Europe and Japan after the war were more advanced than American factories. How did that affect global markets?
And finally, my personal favorite, the effects World War II still have on society today. I studied this during my AP US History class last year and it's quite amazing how many problems we have today stemmed from decisions or research gained post-WWII. Nuclear weapons, Israel, and the United Nations being the major three that I studied.
As you can see, I love World War II for so much more than bloody battles. I love studying the full effects the war had on this planet and human race in general. It was truly the most destructive and greatest war in human history.
At 2/25/09 10:45 AM, Feuse wrote: why do i have a feeling that this collab wont work ?
Because it has taken a bad turn and it taking a long time to finish. However, do not let that discourage you. I still think this collab will make it. A lot of parts are already taken and most people involved are dedicated to this collab.
I'm sure ShortMonkey will give an update as soon as he has something nice to say.
Though to be honest, an update very soon would be nice. Just to see where the collab stands now.
At 2/13/09 09:18 PM, YoinK wrote: Great going with your part dirtshake. I really like it!!! :)
Thanks. And here is the finished product.
I am going to start working on Part 31. Hopefully I can get this one done faster than I got Part 18 done since I don't have a huge paper to write.
Awesome screen shot Coldreaver!!! Can't wait to see it in motion.
You didn't put in any size specifications or anything like that.
But other than that I think it is a great idea for a collab. Maybe I'll make something for it if I get the time.
Hope it turns out well.
Also, might be a good idea(and a big help) to post a link to a Youtube video or something showing the type of cliche scenes you're talking about. Most are pretty known, but still.
