So you interested?

Response to: Looking for artist/animator Posted October 3rd, 2009 in Game Development

I'd like to help. Here's an example of my work: http://dimeck.deviantart.com/?loggedin=1 &loggedin=1
Just as a point I can do alot better, if I spend time on it. With a commision I will. If you give me an idea of what you want, I'll show you a rough concept. If you like that I'll finish it fully.

Response to: sprites credit Posted October 3rd, 2009 in Game Development

You should, it's just polite. Not like you have to co-author them. But some mention is only fair.

Response to: I can Actionscript... Posted October 3rd, 2009 in Game Development

If you need an artist/animator I'll help? Pm me if your interested.

Response to: Anyone wanna help? Posted October 3rd, 2009 in Game Development

Anyone can write, and with flash you don't even need to write well. But if you love your idea that much...Draw me all the characters and objects and Ill animate it for you. (Characters would have be have each body part seprate for easy animation.) So if your interested I'll help. But theres no real call for a script on Ng, pretty much everone here has idea's. But if you want to have a bigger part, like the artist, I'll help.

Interested. But how much is the pay?

Response to: Illustrations Posted July 7th, 2009 in Art

Protip: Stop drawing awful manga. Your good at drawing, but it's hard to judge you when you copy some one else's style and characters.

Response to: Looking for decent Flash Author Posted July 6th, 2009 in Game Development

Idea's are worthless, everyone here has idea's. It's a site based on creativity after all. Instead of asking for a good animator. It should be the animator asking for a good script writer. Show you show us your work. Even if it is good I doubt people will want to share credit for a talent most people have. Writing a script is nothing. It's just idea's on a page.

If you grab the ball and just hold it then 'grav' is going to build up and when you release it it will shoot down. Set it to 0 when you press it and only increment if not dragging (where you have the movement script).

sorry what do you mean?

still isn't working, any other suggestions?

AS2 Script help Posted July 4th, 2009 in Game Development

I'm trying to make it so you can pick up an object with your mouse. But the object also obays gravity.
I've put in this:

on (press) {
startDrag("");
}
on (release) {
stopDrag();
}
onClipEvent (load) {
var grav:Number = 0;
}
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
grav++;
_y += grav;
while (_root.ground.hitTest(_x, _y, true)) {
_y--;
grav = 0;
}
}

I can pick the object up, and it obays gravity, however, when I pick it up it still falls to the ground. How do I make it so when I've picked it up, it won't fall to the ground?

Rename the first bitmaps. Copy in the new frames. Rename the new bitmaps. etc.

and they are activated when you get the zip with the flash ad files in them

But do I have to upload it to Newgrounds? I've done it, but uploaded it to a different site. The ad so far is only a link to NG, and the page witch shows the flash's settings is blank.

When you add your movie, does it have to be on newgrounds? Or can you just type in a name and put the animation on other sites with the ad?

Also, how long does it tke usually, for the ad to be activated?

this has been done. It's just like a reverse tower defense. No real fun. You just spawn enemies as fast as you can.

See how to do it here
I don't think I would be the best at figuring out how to use medals... but I do not how AS works so... i could always ask and try

May as well try, it'd make it alot more popular, I often find otu abotu games 'cos others have the achives on their profile, so it'd boost the collab's "advertising" also, I've watched the street fighter collab so many times, just to get the crappy medals. If we put ads on we'd definatly get more clicks since more will watch, more times, just to get medals.

It'd be better to wait an extra day, than to submit early and get less attention.

but very soon after. Tomorrow will be the day. i don't think it can go further than that unless I get major technical problems lol

Oh, and RedHarvest is working on an Easter Egg because his other part had some difficulties.

check it out, he submitted it as a stand alone submission

I have 3 easter eggs and i'm not sure where to put them all yet lol

Put them in the title, Or if you still doing the Comic page (with all our super hero's on) have the ones in the easter eggs as links. Other wise, people'll hold down tab throughout the animation and pay mroe attention to finding the eggs than the animations there watching.

Response to: dont ask me collab... again Posted June 28th, 2009 in Game Development

I don't really know what you want as an example, as I draw a different style for different feels. I've never done somthing "Random" before, so naturally, I can't show you how I'd do it. However, here's what I've done before.

http://dimeck.deviantart.com/?loggedin=1 &loggedin=1 (three of my flash on the front page)

and this one stopped due to the collab failing :- http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/13060 9/54115_warcoll.php

Is this to a good enough standard?

Response to: blammed! Posted June 28th, 2009 in Game Development

At 6/28/09 08:59 AM, wzaaa wrote: i have an issue I think a lot of people have on Newgrounds..

If u aren't a good animator, you're submissions are blammed 2 mins after u uploaded it.
It doesn't give any chance to people who are learning, for tips and any information..
I think it has to be possible

Even when your flash is blammed you cans still see the reviews.
And if your flash is so bad it dosn't get reviews, you should be able to tell whats wrong with it. It won't be anything minor.
If you can't draw learn, if you still can't learnt AS or learn how to create music. You can get good flashes without drawing anything.

Tips for improving in general. Do ONE stick animation to pratice body movement and getting animations fluid. Don't waste too much time on this. Only a few Stick anim's are enjoyable. Next Learn to draw. Manga is good for a BASIC idea. However, you need to introduce your own style into it. Or stay away from manga altogether. But it's an easy style to learn and make look semi presentable (Just look at all the generic naruto fan drawings). But you will need a uinique style to be recongnised.

Why not save discussion on Co Author's 'till the end? Otherwise, people are gonna be put off and take less pride in their work if they realise they're not getting it.

At the deadline we should have a vote for the authors we want a co athors. Based on amount, quality and importance of work.
