well If you have an image, and want to blur that. Convert it to a MC and use the filters option in the properties panel. If you want to motion blur just fills here is a good example from Chris Georgenes.

Welcome to the concept of Flash Plugin's. There are a good amount of plugins for us flash animators and are very specific to certain mundane functions. I do believe there is a plugin for auto save too, but to my knowledge, it does not work with flash CS3.. so if it works for you or not, do let the author of that code know about it and may be he will make one for that version specifically

for other awesome plugins try this http://bbs.coldhardflash.com/viewtopic.p hp?f=19&t=214

Response to: converting problem Posted June 12th, 2009 in Game Development

I know this comes in late, But there are a few reasons that this error could have come up.

1. If you are working with Flash 8 and above, The line tool had a new option to create sharp edges when two lines meet acute angles. In the previous versions this option didn't exist...

2. if you are using the new extended version of gradients which can be dound in the color popup menu ..

3. if you are using the new and easy edit auto groups that comes with versions 8 and above ..

there is a good chance that you will get such errors whiile trying to publish a movie in flash player 5 and below as that version of the player does not support the 3 above mentioned features.

Exporting a quicktime from flash is probably the crappiest bug in flash. using a mac and trying to work with flash is even worse. There are quiet a few methods of doing this, but since Im not aware of what hardware you are using here are some posts on coldhardflash.com that have quiet lenghty discussion on exporting to quicktime http://bbs.coldhardflash.com/viewtopic.p hp?f=2&t=2723

Response to: Cell shading in flash? Posted May 14th, 2009 in Game Development

Yes its just a technique that one must follow to create cell shading art in flash and is very much possible.
here is an example art work for a game that I'm currently working on. http://devilsgarage.com/blog/2009/04/bea t-bot-bops-boss.html

the radios are rendered in the cell shading technique, but I did not employ the traditional soft cell shading method, instead went with the hard shade method.

If you are proficient with flash, then creating a soft shading technique is possible by following this example http://getty.deviantart.com/art/Tutorial -for-soft-cell-shading-27544088.
