My jabs were directed towards you, and not your argument. You make some good points, and I won't shy from admitting it. All I want to get through to you is that in a civilized debate, those who take agressive stances do well only in attracting negative response towards them.. and no valuable one to the opinion they put forth. If you honestly want to get your views through.. relax, and put your cards down on the table. Each and every criticism is to be valued, because it brings forth only an opportunity for self-betterment.
I really don't see why you're so flustered Slizor. Because I have a high level of confidence in my own opinion? Feeling threatened by my minor display of self-esteem is a show of a lack-there-of on your part. When presenting someone with your opinion, you shouldn't totally flush their own. If you can't make out the fact that the situations are parallel, I don't even know why I bother with replying.
It is well known that a decent amount of Afghans hate the Taliban, also the people are starving. They have nothing, they don't want war, they aren't hell bent. They want a decent living standard. I would also like to point out that your main arguement against the Taliban is that they keep there people ignorant, which has pretty uch no basis as a fact. What you are saying is that the Taliban pose a threat by causing the Afghans to attack you, which is not true. If you want them to stop attacking you, you should stop fucking them about.

The Taliban is an opressive regime, bent on keeping it's subjects in a state of utter ignorance. If you recall the history behind the rise of the Nazi party, and the Holocaust, you can surely grasp the concept of such a threat. Adolf Hitler took a nation empoverished and turned its people against a minority, having Jews scapegoats of the German people's misery. ( Which of course was totally false.. economic sanctions resuting of WW1 were crippling the nation economically.) All this just to say that an angry and ignorant mass of people is indeed a nateable threat. The situation may not be as severe at the moment, but given more time, it could surely escalate.

I can grasp the concept of eliminating a threat at the source.. but terminating the life of children is something that boldly crosses a moral line. In the past, where the taking of life was not so impersonal.. it was strictly frowned upon, or even forbidden to take the life of a child, woman, elderly person or even an unarmed soldier. If wars go without rules of conduct.. potential arrises for regression into lawlessness, ultimately darkness.
I won't go on a righteous rave against your theory.. because it is tactically sound, allthough coldly. I urge you though to reconsider, that is if you already haven't, your view on the subject.
