Erm I got hit with a pitchfork in my head. Actually it didn't hurt much but it bled like a bastard. Also sliced the tip of my finger off once whilst cheffing and that did bloody hurt (apparently humans have more nerve-endings in their fingertips than anywhere else in their bodies, including genitalia). And that beld like a bastard, too.

He’s late, you wait alone
He’s not coming, now you’re running home…
he said he had so many dreams to share with you…
you fell right in, hook, line & sin, he’s overdue.

You’re blind, waste time here
Warm heart disappear
you thought you knew the pathway through, but now it’s closed

Too Late

So many people these days have no imagination
everybody’s used to being told just what to do.
It seems that TV has become the global occupation,
millions sit and waste their lives in pursuit of nothing new…
And Mr Spokesman says, “It’s worth you staying there”
He’s just an alibi, but no-one seems to care.

The time has come to change the world but everyone’s asleep,
although they claim they’re wide awake.
Now it’s time to speak your mind, but you’re always in retreat
and soon you’ll be too late
oh soon you’ll be too late.

So many bright ideas are crushed on the way to liberation.
The System always has a way to put you in your place.
Don’t seem there’s anyone to stand against this tide of desolation,
when the ones you want to fight are the ones you’ll never face…
God is gone, so we’ll pray to gold instead.
Hear us this day as we demand our daily bread.

Hmmm... hope you don't mind this, I write songs as opposed to poems, but I suppose it should count as poetry.

So Empty

You’ve got no time to understand what I say
You always close your eyes and look the other way
Is it because I frighten you? You should know I’m not trying to
why won’t you open your mind to the brand new day?

You seem so senseless to all that you see
You’ve lost all hope of ever being free
It’s not as pointless as it may seem, perhaps you should get back to chasing your dreams,
cos somehow you’ve lost everything that you used to be.

And I, I yearn to separate you,
teach you about your joy,
give you back your self-possession,
prevent you from being destroyed.

Oh how did you get to be so empty,
how did you come to burn so cold?
Can you remember when the laughter faded,
how did it feel when you lost control?

You left your heart somewhere in the past.
You don’t realise you’re living way too fast.
Hour by hour, you count the days, week by week your life is sliding away.
Year by year you slip further behind the mask.

And I, I long to wake your passion,
show you life outside these walls.
Can’t you see a new horizon,
can’t you hear the future call?

Oh how did you get to be so empty,

Macromedia is the best for webdesign. I run 5 sites and use Flash & Dreamweaver (and Paint Shop Pro for graphic editing).
