Micro reviews #1 Posted June 6th, 2010 in General

I decided to make lots of small reviews instead of a few very large ones but you can check my blog for more in depth reviews

#1 Legion: the beggining of this movie was ok the rest sucked the special effects sucked and the acting was sub par at best. And sombody please explain why the zombie angel shark people want to kill an unborn fetis! I looked and I don't see zombie sharks in the bible maybye it in the king James version.
3/10

#2 twilight: I didn't see the movie or read the book but I want to punch everybody who likes them in the face
-4/10

#3 The Road: finally something good. I can't really tell you about the plot but I can tell you that's it's fantastic there are barely any special effects at all and when you see them they are so good it's almost real. Like the destroyed city. Viggo is very convincing and you really believe they are father and son
9/10

#4 the wolfman: honestly there is nothing to special about this movie it's not bad but it doesn't really blow you away at any point in the movie and you don't really care what happens to the characters
6/10

This is the first one of my reviews and before you read it and start trying to correct me THIS IS THE RIGHT FORUM PAGE I intend to review one franchise on multiple mediums at a time this first episode includes an Xbox 360 game, a movie, a movie soundtrack, and an ipod/ipad app

#1 Put on your turban grab your racing ostrich keep a close eye on your donkey because first up is Prince of Persia

I am going to review Prince of Persia for the xbox360 instead of forgotten sands because it is my favorite of the two. let me start by saying this is a fantastic game, the critiques i give are just small problems that i have found with the game. Now when you pick up a prince of persia game you expect hordes of enemies climbing controls sometimes bordering on the complex and a heavy dose of all around awsomeness that we have come to know and love on the original xbox release of the sands of time. When you pick up Prince of Persia the first think you see are graphics that look like the lovechild of prince of persia and borderlands. This first impression does not even hint at the beautiful art of this game wich is a shame because of how well it fits with the gameplay and story.
the story sums up as this, you are a tomb robber who is returning home with your donkey farah, you run into a girl being chased by two guys with huge blades and turbans who have nothing to do with the rest of the story and end up walking into a dying city being corrupted by the god of evil arhamin.
now you have to take the princess Elika to go to the ruins of her city repelling the god and using the fertile grounds to restore beauty. it follows the old games by making the prince an ass hole and makes the player care about what happens to elika.
Now heres where the gameplay comes in. After ubisofts release of assasins creed they built this game from a modified version of its climbing and acrobatic controls meaning very simple controls doing very complex action. almost anyone can pick up this game within minutes of starting. the one problem i have found in the gameplay however is the dificulty. its too easy, enemies are always one v one, but if you count elika that means that every singly fight is in your favor. theres no punishment for dying exept for two things. one if your in a fight it restores half of there health and two if you die more than 100 times than you cant get the 100 point acheivment on the 360. another problem is that there are only 6 different enemies that you fight in the game, meaning you are fighting the same boss a total of 6 times each. after you restore a fertile ground you need to collect glowing orbs called light seeds wich you use to get access to diferent areas wich is an interesting idea eccept that you need to collect a total of almost 600 of them to get to the end of the game! this slowed down hte game for me and kept it from reaching its full potential. but all around its a well balanced game and i would check it out

Prince of Persia 8.4/10

Next up the prince hits the big screen in one of the most suprisingly good movies i have ever seen. Now i had my doubts for this movie because movie remakes of video games dont have a very good record, street fighter, mario brother, and doom just to name a few. so when my whole family sat down to the movie i was surprised to find out how much tuban wearing ass it kicked. It follows the story from sands of time pretty well and all of the actors are very good in the roles that they play, with the exeption of the princess. she had an extremely obnoxious voice and it took a little bit away from the movie. but that was made up when i saw the awsomeness of the hassansins i shit my pants. There are parts where you see the prince jumping and climbing and you find yourself pushing buttons in your head. the special effects where fantastic and it all around brought the movie to an impressive result.

Prince of Persia: The sands of time 8.8/10

The prince of persia soundtrack gave the movie an awsome feel and you found yourself humming it over and over again which is why when i saw the sound track on the itunes store i decided to check it out. Harry Gregson Williams did an exellent job and now has his on spot on the block of memory he take up on my ipod. the only downsid is that the cd has a song by alanis morissete wich kind of takes away from the instrumental charm. its not bad by any means but it just seems out of place.

Prince of Persia movie soundtrack 7.7/10

The last review is of the ipod game prince of persia, but unfortunatly there is not much to say for this entry. i mean, its just an exact copy of the nes game but without the charm of playing on the nes. its only 99 cents but you get what you pay for...

ipod/ipad app 4/10

please post any feedback and if you would like to see a game reviewed post it in the comments for me. please tell me if i had made any errors in my facts so that i may correct them

If you would like to purchase the Prince of Persia sountrack for $9.99 you can at the itunes store.

See you next time.
