Thanks a lot for posting your work! There were some really increadible pieces among them! =)
Thanks a lot for your interest, guys!!
One or two things I guess I should have mentioned in addtition above. I want it to be orchestra-like, not too much synthizer-elements + it shouldn't be a remix of a song since, as I said, I want to use it for this intro and be able to post it on DA which only goes with non-remixed music.
I will listen through your samples and consider what matches the best for what I have in mind. Thanks a lot!! I will let you know once I made up my mind!
Well, I am a Manga/Anime-Artist and that is my prefered style. I did however draw realism for school or anatomy-lessons at university before... but as I said, my main-style is anime/manga and I am sticking with that ^^;
Hello everyone!
I'm an artist specialized in Manga-Art and after working on my story for far over 3 years now I decided to test out my skills and want to give my story an animated intro. However, I'm only a digital artist, I can't create music. As such I need your help.
I'm looking for a song between 1.30-4.00 minutes lenght that matches a fantasy setting and gives a feeling of battle (starting of rather quite or maybe 1 or 2 more quite passages within the song but then rising in intensity. Mainly I'm looking for something that makes you want to stand up and take a sword ;D)
A couple of links so you get an idea of the feeling I'm looking for:
Heart of Courage
Europa
2012
Sacred Icon Suite 2
Sons of War
The video is for private use only, however I want to be able to say 'Hey guys, this is the theme of Essence of Time created by ****!' I'm not gaining any money with my work, but it is my personal passion and my story is like my child. I guess those really into creating art -no matter if drawing or music- understand what I mean ;)
I have 4000 watchers on my DA-account, so you can be assured a lot of people will see and listen to your music. But this isn't the only thing I can offer you of course!
I am willing to pay between 60-100$ for the track. (Paypal)
60$ as a minimum, and I will add depending on how much the song blows me away. This might sound weird, but I think that if someone creates something really unique, they deserve that people worship it. As such, I am truly willing to add more money, but I'm also hoping this gives you additional motivation to put effort into the track ;)
An additional offer I can give are art-commissions of course, so if you are looking for a picture for something, we can talk about that as addition to the payment as well.
I added a sample of my works so you can see what it will be used for later. I guarantee you that I'm doing my BEST for this animation, so your efforts won't be wasted!

Critique and Advice is always most welcome on all of my works! ;) If there is anything you think that should be improved please feel free to tell me~
I agree with you. However there is another thing that often gets mixed. People sometimes are unable to give critique without making it sound like a flame... It is too bad that many people believe that critique is stating what is bad only instead of giving a balanced opinino about what is good and what they can improve. Saying that something is 'bad' is wrong from the very beginning. If a beginner draws something and puts a lot of effort in it, it doesn't matter if he/she can't get the anatomy right so far or if they are unable to place correct shades. It doesn't make their work bad but it is important to tell them where they can improve. Maybe giving 'advice' instead of critique would be more stuitable though it is a shame that most people don't think of it as one and the same thing.
Giving a good critic implies various factors. First of all it is as you said: You need to get aware of what is personal taste and where there really IS something that should be improved. But also the way you are talking with someone determines if the artist will see the crit as advice or as flame. If you keep on telling 'this leg is too short, that arm is too long, the fingers look as if they are sausages,...' it might all be the truth, but i bet the artist will stop reading after the first couple of words, taking it as a flame and not listening to the person who gave the critique at all. A good technique to write a critique is the 'sandwich'-technique. State someting you like, then tell the artist where to improve and then give a positive feedback again about what they already did nicely. (Not to mention that the way you say something makes a giant difference as well)
Example:
- 'this leg is too short, that arm is too long, the fingers look as if they are sausages,...' <-BAD!
- 'I like your overall composition, the character looks dynamic that way. However please take a look again at your anatomy. The leg is too short while the arm is too long on the right side. Another advice of mine: try making the fingers more slim and add the jolts so it looks more natural. The fingers remind me a bit o sausages just now ;) But again, I really like how you put the picture together! You are getting there, just keep it up!' <- GOOD! This is a kind of critique I'd actually listen to. The person giving the critique considered my picture as a whole and seems to actually try to help me, so I will keep an eye on that next time.
Another thing you mentioned is the skill-level of the person giving out the critique... It is true. If someone can't make something right themselves, how are they supposed to tell us how to make it better? But look at your own art. For me if often happenes that I am so concentrated on my works that I don't see obvious mistakes anymore. Like one arm is about... 1/3 longer than the other. I am so blind for what mistakes I make myself that I don't notice them either until someone points it out or if I lookback at the picture again after some days/weeks, gaining some distance from it. (If you see something is wrong in the beginning while drawing, you wouldn't draw it wrong, right?) Even a newby-artist who barely can draw anatomy themselves can tell though that something is wrong there. They might not be able to give a closer critique on most points, specifying things, but they are able to tell if something is wrong too to a certain degree ;) So if a beginner tells you that one arm is 1/3 longer than the other, compare them. You might be surprised how blind oneself can be sometimes xD
Oh well, guess I'm talking totally off topic again but... I just felt like stating that, sorry.
