Timetravel
Even if you time travelled somewhere but did nothing everything would still change because for example the Butterfly Effect.

Every little counts. As stated by the chaos theory.

Response to: Mechanics Engine Posted May 2nd, 2009 in Game Development

For terminal velocity just go...

yvel*=0.9

...and then you'll have a terminal velocity.

Gravity works like so...

gravity = 2 //Not the real gravity constant but you get the idea.
yvel+=gravity
this.y-=yvel

Note: Not real code only pseudo.

if (velocity < terminalVelocity)

Yeah, this right here makes no sense.

}
particle._y += velocity*grav;

velocity*grav?
Why?
Why not just make xvel and yvel and add gravity to yvel?

24 is my number of preference for animating.
It's not amazingly smooth but i have a short attention span so it fits.
As for games 30.
It runs well and is still smooth.

My ng goals are to get a good forum reputation for the right reasons, get a reputation for making good games and to possible be able to use that built up rep for getting employed in the flash industry somewhere. I doubt it'll happen though.

I think you could improve your style greatly by using shading AND lighting on the focus of the joke and the rest can just be shaded like you normally do.

Im not saying you don't need to improve. But there's a difference between just making a picture look good and making it look good with a focal point in mind....am i being too cryptic? I dunno....i don't get much sleep e_e;

No you're not too cryptic. You're just pretty much saying that I need to emphasise the main object with better art, I'll work on it cheers.

Fair enough I'll try and go for more punchlines.

Response to: How can I Improve my comics Posted April 22nd, 2009 in Art

Thanks everyone so far.
So pretty much I think this is what everyone's said.
- Make art less basic. More detail I'm guessing. Also, no stick-figures.
- Jokes aren't brilliant need improving. Need to develop my sense of humour.
- Comics are art.
Fair enough, made a mental note of all of these.

How can I Improve my comics Posted April 21st, 2009 in Art

I'm not a very good artist but I want to improve, so i was wondering I anyone can give me some pointers. I mean comics aren't really art but some help would be much appreciated.

Here's one of them. It's very basic but that's how I like drawing. Oh, and just ignore the stickmen.

Oh and the attached piece isn't a carton in itself it's a cartoonish style drawing of a wolf thing.

It would've probably got you more experience if you'd drawn from the start.

Your point? People can't like and dislike different things?

Actually, I think the word you are looking for is can.

"For you", you should look into that.

For most, he shouldn't look into that you should. As the author part of your job is to make sure the thing actually works for everyone.

Obviously, once again you can have difference of opinions, if you don't like the main aspect, I doubt you would like the minor aspects.

You've got to listen to this if you really want to improve.

Who's fault was that?

Yours because you obviously have no sense of humour.

Once again, you provided no real criticism that would help me become better at Flash.

Actually, he did.
Basically improve your humour and concept.

All I see is a very ignorant person who went into the movie with a present mindset and is wondering why he is disappointed.

Stop being an asshole and think about how to improve your movie.

I was surprised by how many great positive and well written responses I got that were both positive and negative but at least listed why.

He just did you n00b.

Thank you for wasting my time, I have to remember that I am on newgrounds after all, I almost forgot.

You just insulted newgrounds, you went too far, look mate your face shoved so far up your own ass you can't see far enough to see the pile of steaming crap in front of you face called your flash.
So shut up and listen, pull your face out of your ass and get off newgrounds.

Feel free to post true criticism, at least it will add to another view on my flash since you stated earlier you did not watch it all. And its pretty silly for someone to review something before its over.

It's silly to make that pile of steaming crap.
You are welcome to listen to true criticism someday but until then get off newgrounds.
