So we need to get the ball rolling. Just tell me what to do and I'll start working.

Me thinks it'd be best to make a list.
---We need a solid plan out of the level progression, looping depending on what part you are on. I like the idea of going from nature to city theme.
---We need to start picking what concepts will be worked on more and what falls by the wayside, we have a lot of variety to pick some from courtesy of Re2deemer
---We need a solid player ship design, I don't know if we have one yet and I don't feel like looking cause it's 1:30.
for now I think that's what we should focus on.

Well for not having done any art for a while, this isn't too bad.
And it's also good to see a newbie to the forum actually reading the rules for once :P
One major thing you need to work on is your anatomy, it's pretty bad. It's good to know skeletal structure and face structure so some of these tutorials may help you.
Your pencil shading is a tad too dark, it's hiding all that nice detail I'm sure is under there. this might help. I think.

Actually I struggle with this one quite a bit - could you give an example of something and why it's beautiful please J-qb?

Well, one thing I learned in school about things that are supposedly pleasing to the eye is the Golden ratio.
I'd go in to detail about it, but I'm lazy and just woke up. So click the link.
Unrelated, I might have convinced my art teachers (Since we haven't done many drawings/painting in my class as of yet) to do some caricatures as a project.

We're doing plaster molds of our hands, yeah, you know that thing you did in like 2nd grade.

Yeah I know, at first I was gonna make the bathrooms a pinkish maroon like at my work, but other tha that I'v never seen red bathroom stalls, so it's probably going to be a beige-ish color.

I can put in at the top or something, but a reminder for people, watch out for the edge clipping, it'd look kinda strange having some crap on the wall and it suddenly cuts off at a 90 degree angle.

Are you gonna be colouring it as well?

Yes, when I said about 1/3 done, I just meant the sketches

oh man i just had an idea - if people want they could each colour themselves to make it into a collaborative piece, then you could put it all together which should be simple enough. Plus it'd mean less work for you if you were gonna colour it an' all : )

Possible, but like i'v said before, I'd prefer to keep this all done by me. Partly to keep things regular, mostly to push myself. I don't take on many ambitious projects so I want to do this to see how much I can really do. I know this'll take a long time doing this all by myself which is why I said for the next couple of months I'll be doing this.
Perhaps once I'm done with the sketches or when it's all said and done, if people wanna give me their own versions of themselves or someone else or something, but for now this is my project.

I have no problem with people giving ideas or there opinions on this, or opinions on other people opinions or ideas, should this thread turn into a huge argument, so be it. This is a forum, "A meeting place typically used to discuss opinions"

Umm, well 1 thing that this project has made me realize is we are a MUCH bigger community than any of us really give credit for, I'd say the finished product will have roughly 60 people in it, so I'm about a third the way done(I still gotta retouch some of the sketches)
