See this is my problem, it's meant to abstract, in abstract, if the point isn't clear, it's good.
Way's to make good abstract, color theory, varied brush stokes, and some composition.

Happy colors are bright and abundant, but both pics are rather dull and dreary, other than that punk, fist?
It's also a problem that I cant make out what things are supposed to be, the disintegrating mushroom for instance, WHAT IS IT?! i DON'T KNOW, what does it symbolize? Why is it there, it seems totally pointless to be there.

I'm still really confused about why there is happiness in domestic abuse, I can understand that the other end may not know its abuse, but that doesn't mean it'd be happy.

I want to see something else, to really see how you can draw, not all this smoke and mirrors abstract stuff, I want to see what you can do.
No hidden meaning.
No colors.
Just a drawing, a person, a dog, anything.

That's because I'm frankly sick of people who come in here, and if they aren't filled with absolute praise, they throw a hissy fit. You are not the first, and you will unfortunately not be the last.

I gave you a fair critic, it wasn't what you wanted. simple as that.
Joe was a bit more of a dick about it. Simple as that.
You are basing your opinion on 3 people of the art forum is that not the definition of pretentious?
I'm not twisting your post in anyway, I'm responding to it with my opinion.

So, should I make the gun more simple? that's what you're saying?

I think he means put the same amount of effort you put into the guy, as you did the gun.
Both simple fine, both with effort fine. But don't have both, it doesn't look good, consistency is key.

I see a ninja about to get punched.
See this is why I don't like abstract, because you need to be able to convey a message, and you need to be able to convey a message well. You sir, have not done that.
Abstract requires colors that make sense, bold strokes where needed, angry strokes so to speak, if it's angry, which I'd assume abuse would be angry) it should have bold strokes and a dark tone, not bright pinks and the like

Put them together to make a house, or a tree, or like a lamp, come on man, it's pretty simple stuff. It shouldn't be something other people have to spell out for you.
Also shading is needed to show the illusion of depth and 3dness

You definitely deserve to be scouted, being unscouted could be from a number of things you yourself didn't do, such as someone who scouted you did something wrong and got unscouted, you get unscouted. or someone you scouted, etc.
3d I don't care much for really, but sculptures I like. The level of detail and the texture you put into this is fantastic, do you ever paint your models after you sculpt them?

I'm not too good at digital painting, so to remedy that, I need to practice, right?

Not bad for not being used to it, though I'd suggest a wider amount of colors and the reflected light being a bit dimmer.
A trick I'd suggest, and should probably start using myself, is smudge a bit where the colors meet for a smoother transition.
The cast shadow looks a bit puny, this doesn't work for everything but I think its pretty good for spheres is that the angle the light is coming from, should also be the angle for where the shadow ends.

if you don't get what I mean I'll do an edit to show you.

Response to: So how is my art? Posted January 27th, 2010 in Art

I don't like it when people use cartooniness in their style as an excuse to completely ignore anatomy. I draw stuff in a cartoony style, and I use anatomy. And I (try) to keep the shading consistent too.

Do you watch cartoons where people just stretch out there arms like they have no bones? Damn right you do, but most of the time they are consistent in their proportions.

The first one you posted the one on the floor's torse is twice as long as the one on top (hehe, innuendo) and has no legs, his arms are also very noticeably different lengths.

Though I like the head, the rest of him I'm not too fond of for the same reasons as the first.

I don't like the anerexic style of drawing. Because the way most people use it, the bodies are noodles, arms are noodles, everything but the head usually are just glorified sticks that are impossible to put detail into.

I don't like the legs either, but everything waist up looks pretty good to me. much smoother than the legs.

it looks like one leg is shorter than the other, I think thats one of the main problems.
