It's hard being an actual dragon.
It's hard and no one understand.

Do I even want to know what an otherkin is?

Unless you payed like 4 dollars for it, I'm assuming you took it back for a refund, Felis?

Response to: Ng Sketch Book Tour -resurrected Posted July 23rd, 2011 in Art

The point of the sketchbook tour was to showcase the artists that frequented the forum. The reason Luis stopped it is because it was getting bigger each year, and by extension more of a hassle to put together and produce. Also with the art portal, that showcase isn't necessary as there's a readily available portal for it now.

Would I like to see it come back? Yes, I'd like a chance to participate. Do i think it will, probably not.

They need a programmer to do backgrounds for the card game of coarse, makes sense to me.

Response to: moving from pen and paper to tablet Posted July 16th, 2011 in Art

It's not really as simple as doing exercises because it's different for everybody.
I got a hang of it fairly quickly, while a friend of mine got his a year ago and still has difficulties with it. Just keep using it and you'll be fine.

Response to: [art Collab] Self-portrait Collab Posted July 13th, 2011 in Art

Do the portraits have to be made for the collab specifically, or can they be older submissions?
I ask because several people are submitting pieces from months ago.

Response to: Need your opinion on my drawing Posted July 12th, 2011 in Art

The ribs? next to the abs seem a bit too defined to me, it seems really weird that the guy would be just saring straight ahead rather than focusing the girl over his shoulders he's supposed to be holding up.

Other than that, lovin the lines.

Response to: Art Forum Lounge Posted July 12th, 2011 in Art

I'm not asking for a fucking louvre quality piece.
These threads don't even have art in them half the time.
Quality over quantity isn't exactly relevant if there's no substance to compare.

Response to: Art Forum Lounge Posted July 12th, 2011 in Art

It's been a pretty steady stream of mostly bad for a while now actually.

Response to: Art Forum Lounge Posted July 11th, 2011 in Art

70% of the new threads being made are making me depressed.
70 is probably a bit generous but there are a few gems in there.

Guess who's living the dream motherfuckers.

There is no way this is a joke.

Response to: my so called art Posted July 7th, 2011 in Art

Oh hey, laughably huge circle tits.
All these look really quickly done. (sketchy coloring, copy paste eyes, wobbly line art) Let alone the missing body parts.
There's aesthetically missing body parts to send a message, and there's not drawing them and calling it done.
This is the latter.

Response to: Avat Discussion Posted July 6th, 2011 in Art

I'm confused about how this works, is this only for people who did not advance to the second round or does everyone need to?
That said has the 2nd round roster been released yet?

Response to: Need Art:dark Style Art For Game Posted July 6th, 2011 in Art

You need to realize that artists don't just shit out time and effort, the amount your asking for in the time allotted would be the artist working near constantly, for 9 days straight for anything of any quality, and for pay that I'm guessing would not be worth the effort.

On the topic of MMO's with pay to win gear, spiral knights has none of that noise. You can pay to make the process to getting good gear easier, but you still have to work for it.

I think why you seem to be having so much trouble is you're sticking so closesly to the 7 heads thing.
It's really not as necessary as you're making it out to be.

Response to: Avat - Art Signups Posted July 3rd, 2011 in Art

Please, just stop changing the rules and go on as originally planned.

Response to: Avat - Art Signups Posted July 2nd, 2011 in Art

Half is still a pretty solid turn out.
the entire time I looked at the first round as a preliminary. To seperate out the people who either will participate, or for whatever reason not go on to the next round. Be it dropping out or work not up to snuff.
Next round I imagine is when shit's gonna get real.

Once I realized it was looking in a mirror, it became a lot clearer. That said, I'd give the mirror some kind of border to emphasize that it is, in fact, a mirror.

I would love a $10,000 dollar canvas with a description of what should be on the canvas isn't.
I'd imagine the 20 dollar ones are along the lines of, "A sunset on a beach" and, "A wooden bridge covered in overgrowth"

For 10 grand you'd better get a novel of a description.

Response to: Any good Programs for art Design? Posted June 29th, 2011 in Art

In less words: An expensive art program is not a shortcut to good art. The person that made your example has taken the time and effort to hone their skills, that isn't photoshop doing the work for them.
