I want to play the old Xcom games on my PC, but my PC is vista, and the games are Dos...

I looked into Dosbox, but got an error when I tried to install, can anybody help me with my problem?

I've connected the controller with the USB cord, and it reads it, but when I press something, it doesn't show up, so basically, it knows its there, but it doesn't know what to do with it. Can anyone help me?

The problem with the smoke is that I plan on hand-drawing it and animating it in Flash. I really have no way to judge the movement or how I'd get it to loop without looking bad.

What I do for my smoke, I usually keep it simple, draw a "smoke like" blob, then shape tween it slightly, then have it go back, it'll give the effect that its moving even with a slight movement, good luck..

Heck, while I'm asking for help, I might as well throw in that I can't find a good site for sound effects that aren't terrible quality. I mainly need tank treads and whatnot. Military sounds, explosion, and all that jazz.

For the dust effect/smoke, Usually just find a grey or tan color, and use an alpha control on it, set it to about 40% and animate it that way.. but here's some tutorials...

I already know about find sounds and sounddogs, I'm looking for the list that he made so I can bookmark it, and use one of the music sound links he had.

I figured this would be best in flash, because he had mainly sound effects, and where is how to I don't think it would have been appropriate/

My friends and I just played a 3 way game, Tau, Tyranids, Space Marines, and the Tau won!!! YAY!!!

Game lasted about 4 hours, 600 pt armies each.

So I just got back from the beach...

I'm sun burnt as hell, I hate how we always seem to forget the sun tan lotion, and its not even the cool whole body tan, its just like half of my face and my forearms. Anyways, well I was trying to get out there and start conversations with girls, but it just didn't seem to be like my day, I was able to open up a small conversation with Three HB10's, but it was short and sweet. I invited three groups of girls that were sunbathing to come over and play some cards with us, but they didn't want to... bummer...

To summarize, I love the beach, in my town, you get one cute girl for 6 ugly girls ( 1:6 ) but at the beach, its quite opposite, you get 6 hot girls for each ugly girl ( 6:1 !!! ) pretty fucking awesome...

Anyways, I was peacocking while we walked around the town, and it seemed to work quite well, I got a lot of attention for wearing a tie with my apparel. If I was to actually get involved into a few sets, it would have been great for conversation.

The main reason I wasn't able to game was because the day seemed to fast paced for me, I was running on nearly 3 hours of sleep, and I just wanted to relax. I didn't feel as confident as I should have, and the sunburn I was receiving made things even worse.

On a side note, I got an interview for hollywood video :D

Like i said, I'm going off of this thinking your a girl, guys are more visual people, if you are kept clean, are well mannered, and sweet. Then guys will notice you positively, if you are dirty, slutty, and rude, guys will view you negatively.

Have you ever noticed how strange the holes in socks are? I mean, they are kinda just there, no threading or warn look to them, just a hole, at least in jeans when you rip them, you can tell... but not on socks. They just have a hole a chilling hole, that is annoying...

The reasons I didn't like the flash:

First off, the song was rather annoying, all of his songs are just about... him, nothing important, or worth thinking about, they are just about how he is "soulja boy"

Second, the animation was mediocre, he could have spent some more time on it, and added some facial expressions, and more animation than what there was, but I'm guessing it was his "artistic view" of it.

third, there is no general theme to it, its just pure randomness and stupidity, at least madness combat has a plot/moral "don't kill the sheriff"

That is what I thought of his flash...
