It's not exactly the same, but it's similar overall.
Oh right yeah I see exactly what you mean. I try to do those on guitar with Holy Wars. It's still mega hard for me, im not fast enough.

that still isnt right, but my yogurt is delicious. Sup?
YogHurt.
LMAO.
Actually there was a legislation passed a few years ago where it could only be called yoghurt if it came from Belgium or something. If not, it has to be referred to as 'Framented Milk Snack'.
Lmao.

I really dont see the point in it. I know it's a reprise but I would have thought he could change it a bit more. It's only slightly faster, with a few added female vocals and a different solo.

The entry actually used for the album cover was the 11th place entry. I think the 1st place got some guitars or some stuff.
At 4/22/07 06:24 AM, SpeedMetalSandwich wrote: Also just the other day, i was listening to Sleepwalker, then to Holy Wars...
The two songs sound similar.
You reckon?
I think Sleepwalker's pretty awesome, and I predict it'll probably be one of the best from the new album, considering some of the reviews!
Also, i've been learning High Speed Dirt on guitar, pretty much learnt it now. It's not to hard, but it's fucking awesome. Currently my new favourite Deth song. I just love the little acoustic blues solo in the middle of the song.
At 4/20/07 09:27 PM, SpeedMetalSandwich wrote: Since when was Megadeth ever Black Metal?
On-topic.
Lmao, didnt you know? Megadeth have taken a turn in musical style with united abominations. Pretty fucking brutal!!
You dont have to be drummer savy to know that Portnoy is the king.
But i do agree that prog metal can be pretentious, but that doesnt matter to me cos i fucking love it.

I listen to most of it,, its just I only listen to a few bands more regularly. I could still be abit more metal though :P
I don't like the stuff after Ok, Computer, when they went all faggy and electronic. Fuck that >:(.
Yeah that was shite. I thought The Bends was awesome.
Yeah... I forgot to mention Pop, and cheesey stuff :). Its ace. I got Michael Jackson's 'Number Ones' on Friday :).
Haha ive got his History album. It's ace. The other day I stumbled across this old video.

I got the nostalgic rush of a lifetime.
Heh, this discussion is more fitted to metal hell than here :P

Besides them I love Instrumental music (Buckethead), Classical (Beethoven, Parchebel), Acoustic (John Frusciante, Jeff Buckley), Funk Rock (Chili's - though I do enjoy the less Funky stuff more), Prog (Mars Volta, Radiohead), Alternative (The Cure, The Smiths), Rock, Blues, Comedy.
I love everything. Making me better than you :P.
Haha. There's only a select few netal bands that make me enjoy metal too. Dream Theater, Megadeth, Blind Guardian and Helloween.
D'you not like Joe Satriani? He's probably my favourite instrumentalist.
I used to bum Radiohead, but I find them a bit mundane now, especially since I discovered the more powerful stuff in metal music.
But im still a big fan of those old 80s disco classics, new wave, britpop and other nostalgic stuff.

I think it's more of a case of branching out your music taste more, rather than being more of a Megadeth fan. I dont believe in liking stuff just because it's by a certain band.
Thing is, im probably not as metal as most people who post here and the Metal Hell. My music taste changed dramatically over a year, so I still enjoy stuff I used to listen to, and other stuff you wouldn't expect metalheads to listen to. That's probably why I like Risk.
At 4/19/07 10:03 AM, PenisClown wrote: Because you like Risk you fucking loser.

Heh, Risk is only awful to the ultimate metalheads. Im a bit more open to different varieties of music, and im pleased by different sorts of music. But i'd still say metal is my preferred taste.
Nevertheless you should check out Sleepwalker.
At 4/19/07 08:22 AM, PenisClown wrote: Ok, I don't believe you about Sleepwalker's killer riff now.
Why not!?!
I prefer Youthanasia to The System has Failed.
Ah ive not heard that you see, of The World Needs A Hero.
Mine would be.....
Well, the only time they get more plays is if I stop in the middle of an album. So it wouldn't really mean anything.
Yeah I see what you mean. I usually listen to albums entirely, but on the odd occasion I listen to a particular song.
Ashes in Your Mouth is still my favourite Megadeth song.
For some reason that song reminds me of Holy Wars. Its like a slower version its got kinda the same verse pattern.

Perhaps a topic of conversation is in order, so allow me to update you with all things Megadeth in my life:
Haven't listened to them for a while, then heard the demo for Sleepwalker from the upcoming album. I must say it has a bloody killer riff! I prefer it much more than Gears of War, which is just meh.
So yeah started listening to the guys much more again, and some may be suprised that i've been listening to Risk quite alot. Its not half bad. Of course I dont listen to it when im in the mood for metal, it does good in other moods.
I was trying to comprise a list of my favourite Deth albums in order, from best to last, but I havent heard anything post-Risk so it wouldnt be a definitive list. No doubt Rust In Peace goes at the top for me, though.
I was also thinking that Youthanasia could possibly be my least favourite, if it weren't for A Tout Le Monde, Reckonng Day and Train of Consequences. They're the only songs I really enjoy on that album. Some of the songs towards the end of that album are so awful to me.
Most played song for me to date is Sweating Bullets, at a play count of 10. I know its a pathetic amount, but recently my iTunes library was fucked so play counts were erased.

I dunno. I think i'll be lurking around the C&C quite ofte, for Metal Hell and DT crew aswell as this. We'll see how it goes. If I feel i'll be leaving for good then i'll sort it out, and I probably will stop coming altogether in a month or two.

Ah im glad i've crossed some people's minds still :)
I'll stick around here for a while, until the summer, when you probably wont hear from me for quite a while...

Heh i've not heard those albums at all, and DT are one of my favourite bands!
Dunno if you'd call me an 'untrue fan', but i've not heard much of their earlier stuff. I really need to check it out. I've only heard a few live tracks from that era, which includes of course Metropolis.
At 4/13/07 11:45 AM, PenisClown wrote: And where the fuck have you been? We pretty much appointed Nev as this clubs leader!
I left the internet about a month ago, cos I had a load on. I still have technically left, but I just popped back to see what's on the discussion in the C & C. General forum's got nothing for me anymore though.
Im glad people still kinda care about this thread, as it keeps needing to be re-bumped. :P
By the way...
Fucking 11 out of 10 for todays user of the day!!!!

Bahamut fucking despises it.
I think it's great.
This is what I cant stand about you bloody hardcore metalheads though, you've sometimes got such picky standards!
You'll often find me listening to some old 90s pop music and 80s disco and synth pop.
Anywho, about the song. You've gotta have a balance sometimes, not just loads of the same stuff, especially since it's a concept album. It's a beautiful song, and one of my most listened to from that album.
Led Zeppelin are awesome. Ive liked them for ages, but have recently got back into them again.
1. The Battle of Evermore
2. Jimmy Page
3. Not sure, definately one of my favourites.
I want to get a mandolin, just so I can play The Battle of Evermore.
Hi guys. I left the BBS about a month ago, but im back briefly, exclusively for you guys :D
I just wanted to ask some questions and stuff.
Basically I haven't been putting enough into my guira practice lately, with endless work and such, I wanna get back into it before I loose it all. I've managed to keep myself at the same level I left off at, if not slightly lower, by doing the same stuff, jamming to songs, learning a few new simple ones.
My strings are knackered, worn out and shite rusty, and due to various snappings ive got strings in places that they shouldn't be, like a G string as a lower e for example, and it's just terrible.
I've only got a crappy Fender copy, with all the usual shite on it, and terrible action. It's pretty tattered and im sick of the sight of it basically. So I want a new guitar, fresh start and all that.
im looking at getting an Ibanez; i've noticed alot of my idols use these (Satriani, Vai, Petrucci etc). Im not sure which to get. I wanna squeal some mean harmonics and manage tapping better. Im basically looking for a Petrucci-esque sound more than anything.
What do you guys suggest?
At 3/15/07 03:27 PM, subpar wrote: Fact: If this thread gets a lot of replies, he won't leave.
Not really. I wouldn't expect much replies seeing as most of the people I mentioned dont come here much themselves. I was just thinking aloud and spreading some thoughts...another reason I wouldnt expect much replies.
That's not what matters though.
At 3/15/07 03:00 PM, TheBlackDahliaMurder wrote: I don't think it's that the BBS changed, it's that your perspective changed. At least that's the case for me.
Yeah that's true. What I mean by it is that what does go on on these boards isn't important to me anymore, sad to say.
At 3/15/07 03:08 PM, Hycran wrote: My final gift to you is not reading your pissy little cry baby good bye speech. If you cant handle it, then gtfo my web. You are a nobody, you will not be missed.
No one had to read it. I just did it for the sake of it.
Im not bothered if im a nobody, or if I will be missed. I've got more important things to worry about.
And it was never about being unable to handle it.
I was gonna wait til my 10,00th post to do this. But I really can't be arsed.
The amount of topics that are not worthy of posting in has reached an all time high. These past couple of weeks i've been checking out the BBS, and post more in the C&C more than the general, which used to be the other way round. So if I waited for my 10,000th post i'd be on here for ages just doing nothing worthwhile.
The fact is, i've pretty much cut the chord with Newgrounds. It used to be quite an important part of my life, social networking when I had nothing to do, and being creative through computer generated media. I'm not sure whether I regret making NG a regular thing or not, because I met loads of cool people on here. I also learnt quite a bit through here, through the net in general really.
So I hope people see how kinda important it has been. More than 50% of me wishes that I never came on here, all those years ago, and signed up. But I did, and I can't change that.
But it's not really just NG itself, it's me too.
Sure NG has gone to piss, and at risk of sounding like another moaning thread, it really is full of idiots with cretinous discussions about nothings, and you can't deny it, it's so true.
But it's not my problem now. I've seen loads of people complaining about the shittiness of the BBS. Some have made their own private forums to escape it. I can't see how it can be better though. Just get on with your life.
At the end of the day there's more to life than this. On one side I can say that there's so many fools on here not doing anything with their lives, and talking utter crap. On the other side there's the people complaining about it. None of these people are better than any of the others. So just stop complaining. there's so many other things you can be doing, enriching your life.
And I mean completely unrelated to computers and that.
I know most people won't even take any of it in, but I feel like getting it off my chest. I've been on NG for too much time. I'm not into this kinda thing anymore. I used to think I could balance it out with my life, but aswell as not being able to, it's come to the point where I don't want to.
I'm concentrating on better things now. Really I want to spend alot of time with my friends who I won't be seeing for a long time after the summer. I don't want to be wasting my time.
However it's been a great experience. And ive met some awesome people on here, like deckheadtottie, Zef, BBM, MickTheChampion, PinkBeer, TheMaster, Dawsdani, Bahamut, Earfetish, TRA, TriNitroToulene, LongDistanceRunner, MrEulogy, McPaper, idle, Chrispington, cool_penguin_0, TheDoctor, TheAbominableMatt, deurwaarder, HilariousGenocide...and so many more.
So I suppose it is a goodbye in a way, but I don't want people to think im being a whiney bitch. It's more of a topic about getting stuff off my chest, and making people think more. So it's goodbye...for a while. A long while i'd say.
Peace.
