I've not listened yet... just got on the PC.... time to rip :D.

The album cover keeps scaring me... I keep thinking the wire holding up the traffic lights is a crack in the case.

Haha, cracks in case always let me down.
If need be, I usually swap the case for another CD which has no cracks, and is less important than the one that has a crack :P

Progressive/Neo Classical and sort of American Power Metal.

New Dream Theater album tomorrow (for us Brits).
Anyone picking it up?

Tomorrow? Thought it was the 6th...
Unless you've preordered it then I guess you get it sooner.

I'll get it either this week, or when my exams have finished, the special edition one that is :D
I've got the cover art of the special edition album as my desktop wallpaper. It's damn hot. Much better than the standard edition.

Would have loved a 20 minute epic like The Odyssey though :(

I love how there's a harsh system for users to come in, and all we do is talk about crap we already know about.
This place should really welcome newcomers to metal. They would obviously realised if nobody wanted to talk about bands whicha re considered shit here.
Dunno what it is about this exclusive club complex.

If you do and can pass the links on it would be appreciated :-)

When I look for albums I just type in the artist name, the album then the word "rapidshare" or "megaupload" into google, and sites like that pop up all the time.

Cockroaches can live for a week without a head.

That's pretty metal.

Not sure if they're worth checking out, but then again there's only one song to go by when it comes to judging his singing (for Ayreon).

Aye I know they're not celtic, but I was just referring to that song.
I love Universal Migrator, probably my favourite album of Ayreon.
Human Equation is pretty hot with LaBrie and Akerfeldt as guest vocalists.

You should repeat that, except you should actually say it directly to James LaBrie and Mikhael Akerfeldt, being guest vocalists and all.

This is probably the best example of celtic metal I could name...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtAhlPcdh9c

Would be better if the lyrics were more celtic based themselves, but check the violins n shit, the main riff is orgasmic.

By the way the video is shit, but the song rocks.

Response to: Dream Theater Crew Posted June 2nd, 2007 in Clubs & Crews

Im listening to Live Scenes From New York.

Man it's hot.
There's this additional part before Through Her Eyes which is like a duet between Petrucci and the female vocalist Theresa Thomason, which is totally orgasmic as it leads into Through Her Eyes.

Really is a great song.

Out of that, i'd definately wanna see:

Megadeth
Porcupine Tree
Hayseed Dixie
Iron Maiden
Dream Theater

So that's like, none at all on Saturday.

Nevertheless, it's the best lineup out of all the British Isles' festivals.

I think I agree. I wasn't too keen on getting into death metal, but now I like progressive and melodic death, but not the brutal chugga-chugga riff style bands who are inaudiable.
As for black metal it's worse, having heard a few groups.
Pretty poor quality music in my opinion.

I also read somewhere that it's considered among the black metal community that the more worse the quality is, the truer the metal.

Plus he isnt a pirate.

When I think of pirates, I prefer to think of the island of Tortuga, if we have to associate everything to do with pirates with that film. But it is a great series nonetheless.

Anyway I enjoyed the episode. Good cliffhanger and that, it was very "Lost".
The scarecrows pissed me off though. I dunno, I just hate those silly cheesy nonsense things they have in Doctor Who, like human-pigs and all that. I'm suprised they even bother getting them all done up well, they may as well just have shitty facepaint jobs.

The two complete opposite arguements annihilate each other in a dramatic collision, and create pure energy.

Perhaps they can use it to make a new album...

It hasn't been proven. Like I said before there are different possible fates of the universe. The masses of galaxies attract each other, so the universe expansion rate is slowly decreasing.

Depedning on its density, the universe might expand forever as an open universe, or contract into a closed universe.

Response to: New universal theory!!! Posted May 19th, 2007 in General

It isn't possible to go past the speed of light in this theory. When particles increase in speed and get close to the speed of light, their mass increases so much that it's own inertia prevents it from accelerating.

Plus the topic starter is a fool for saying the universe is infinite. It isn't expanding at the speed of light, you fool. It's entirely possible for the universe to compact in on itself again due to the critical density. It can even continue expanding forever.

I can understand the differences in opinion here. I think it's quite obvious that fans can love Dream Theater for many different reasons. they're both very different albums representing the different styles DT have.

I think I like to describe Six Degrees as the best of the "new style" and Images & Words as the best of the "old style".

Nah. That's a different one. There was some instrumental leak thing I saw somewhere that could be downloaded from rapidshare, but it's not the proper album.
