I'm getting a bamboofun myself. Getting a medium one is only $200, and works very well. Look into that.

Yes, I used to work with a tablet and I'm already saving up now for a decent one. Old one basicly got busted, and atm...I haz linux (= does not support *sad face*

Yes, I'm honestly considering taking Windows back...But it's alot of hasstle =(

I have to admit, it does also takes time for that to get used to.
It's truly amazing though what you can acomplish after only a month with a tablet.

But indeed, good one on the practice part ;)
I've been practicing alot though...So my skills have definatly gone up a level or two ... But I want to get better, and better...AND BETTER.
So I'm just lurking around atm to get some good guides to help me more =)

Although, yeh..Those bamboo ones...They look awesome....I'm gonna get a cheaper version though

Drawing with a mouse tips? Posted July 23rd, 2009 in Game Development

Ok.

SO....After a good amount of expierence in flash...I'm coming to the constation that drawing in Flash with a mouse is VERY hard, and takes alot of patience and time to get things right.
Using the brush tool etc that is.
It's true that when not having a tablet for you to use...Its best to avoid the brush. No? BUT....I really enjoy working with it, and well...Im not this "designer" type of guy....I like sketching and fooling and everything.

BUT....If I'd draw out characters or an enviroment or anything in flash..By the use of a mouse....Would there be anyone who'd have any good tips/guides that I could keep in mind or use?

I know Luis is an animator that never used a tablet in his life (well....I presume its still like this...No?) and his animations looked superb (with just a mouse omg).
So I know its possible to get nice results out of a mouse.

Anyone care to help me out?

So is it better to just draw the rain as such in flash or would you use some sort of repeated image of raindrops or something?

Obviously rain is kidna transparent too isn't it (you couldn't have full trans'd pics as rain over an animation say of a person in rain), so how would you tackle that kinda thing? :)

Again, appreciate the replies here !

I learned how to animate rain from this animation.
And I never needed any guidance after that.

Besides the script...that shit is awesome...Thx again xD

No fancy AS required.

Although the AS does look nice, and I must admit I'm going to use this in future animations...Saves me alot of time as well I must admit.

As much as this idea is awesome (NO IT IS NOT)

Yes it is. But if the man likes to work in CS3....Then I have this;

I have another proposal. I too have came across these things, and the best option there is...Is to basicly import .SWF files into flash 8.

Do you understand?
Everything your friend with Flash 8 needs, he will get in .swf format, and he needs to open a new file...select "File>Import>import into stage" (or import to library if thats easier for you to work in lolz). And wham...there you have it.
The only things that get lost, are the tweens and the symbol names. (Don't worry, the tweens are replaced by frames)
No data loss occurs, and it's basicly the only way to activly share files between the two.

Whats so great about CS3 anyway?
Response to: Flash Vs Photoshop Vs Illustrator Posted July 23rd, 2009 in Game Development

Every single webcomic is basicly made in illustrator.

It's a great program if I say so myself, and easy to get the hang of. BUT I do love flash more for named above reasons.

My advice is very simple; Use em all. Adobe made their software specificly so you can easly drag one file into the other without much complications.

If I think of starting a webcomic, it'd go like this;

- Sketch out (paper/pencil)
-Trace out the roughness in Flash
-Create a blank document in illustrator and prepare it with borders etc.
-Drag characters and everything you did in flash into the ill. file
-Tweak and adjust to your needs
-Finally, export it into a PS moddable file (png/jpg/pds/...anything you prefer)
-Import in PS and tweak the colors/burn/texture/extra effects.

Save as... AND ur done.

Thats the way I'd like to work, and gets the best out of every program.

BUT...There are so many other methods out there for you to explore to create something you desire.
IMO, the best effect is gotten when you use all of the programs together.

I could talk about my love for adobe all day.

It might be time-consuming, but it looks pretty good. Bear in mind you would have to use the feet as a reference point too in the same way.

Although this is one of the best guide I've seen in a lifetime....Have you tried drawing a stick out first?
And then just build the original image out of it?
That's how I like to do FbF with people....

And backgrounds, yeh...I've been through that as well...If the event happens that I need a good detailed and enviroment, I like to rely on other software like Photoshop, illustrator everything you can think of that has to do with designing.

Also, i like the brush alot too, and like to use it for everything basicly...But if you don't want a simple background, and you have no tablet, then the best thing to use is the line tool.
Circles, squares, hell...even the pen tool....Just brush out, and trace over it with the lines.
Use shading plox.

Shading ==> instant awesome.

Response to: How do you express anger? Posted July 7th, 2009 in General

I don't really get angry mostly, I tend to get very frustrated, to a point of anger basicly.
Still a difference.

I'm this type of person who also bottles those frustrations deep inside, just swallow it.
Sometimes I smoke a joint afterwards when I cooled off and rethink the entire situation to see what and where it went wrong.

There are only a few people who seem to get me "angry"/frustrated.
Mostly this seems to be because of failing to accept criticism, when this occurs outside of RL...I tend to either get a bit irrational or blind for other comments and build up the frustration as the conversations evolves.

IRL its far more horrible, tends to get me really demotivated and inhance the lazyness I posses (e.g. Go "fuckit" on every responsibility I have), and all of this without outing the anger/frustration..It might be spotable on my facial expression, but it will not be discussed.

Sigh....And this is getting worse day by day.

I could use some help....

Just got frustrated a moment ago.

Yeh, I like firefox alot, its easly for googling...It's good in its own way, but still...I've seen die hard FF fans (with alot of comp exp) enjoying, and loving opera for its handy user interface and its usefull features (who aren't just for fun, but are functional and speed up the browsing/lurkin).
Also, media works smoother and better in Opera (solid fact...On any OS, on any PC...Seen it on work on a Mac and on a PC with GeForce)

But this is all before the beta.
And screw the beta...I'll wait till the stable version comes out =D
My FF works just fine now.

Morons who use the arguement of Add-ons + the speed are forgetting one thing.

TOO MANY ADD ONS = SLOWER BROWSER.

Btw, idiots forgot one browser who actually beat FF. (I don't know about the 3.5, but I bet it is at the same level atm)

OPERA 9.5 JIGGAH JIGGAH.

No really, I use FF as well, but Opera is still my main browser. Why? Because of its simplicty, or if you don't like simplicity (like you Add-on freaks) you can make it as complicated as hell.

Hell, you can even browse two websites at the same time.

Pic for proof.
