i was wondering, how do you programme these little cute icons in the web browser for your own site?
It's some sort fo HTML? Right? if it is, then don't just paste it, i could use some explanation, my career in developing
sites isn't very long...

I wanted to download flash, but when i opened the wizard it said "the system couldn't find given path" and then another window popped up wich said something like "FL_Client_Installer.exe" and then the last window that popped up said "Unable to execute the specefied command line! "

could any one help me, cuz i'd really like to have flash and make my own movies, maybe anyone could reffer me to another download page or something?

Well, i designed my own site in Dreamweaver, and i got myself a web host (free) and it is able to upload a html file to your site, but that doesn't includes the pictures etc. and thats where a FTP program comes in the picture right? I downloaded WS_FTP 2007 and i'm asking if anyone can help me with this, i've used the tutorial but i still don't know what i have to enter at the connection wizard box (that means server adress etc...i haven't gotten anything from the web host that looks like i have to enter it in there, i.e.; ftp.mywebpage.aol.com or something)
Does anybody know what i mean, and more inportant, can anyone help me?i thank you on advance

Waw, i never expected that much help, thanks all you guys! i'm getting the hang of HTML now(it's still a really big basic, but i'm getting there) will take some time and experementing to make a propper site, but oh well, it was the same with flash, and with evrything; Practice makes perfect!

The first thing I would recommend doing is learning HTML. You can learn HTML here.

I just got myself a new site, for free, and i'd like to adjust it , but the thing is, i know nothing, and i mean nothing about programming these things, i would just like to have a decent site to call my own. I'm not new to flash, so i could use that, i heard something about using a notepad (dunno; how where what it is), also dreamwave is involved (don't own it), and i am able to create banners and stuff. If you are willing to help me you can use the PM that's just been installed here, or a chat adres, because i will probably be asking questions, and i'd hate to over post the BBS. I hope this is the right place for this question (otherwise you may point me to somewhere where i could get some help, not mentaly...)
I have a small idea for my site to look like (if it is any help);

-A nice inro made in flash (i would like to use flash alot for my site)
-Other pages
-Beautifull navigation buttons for other pages
-A page with flash animations and one where i can place some pictures,
-Banners and little link buttons for sponsering other sites
-maybe a background texture

what i'm trying to do is to make a little piece of a movie (a WMV file or something, like the ones you play in media player) and put it into flash, so you can make a GIF file outta it...

yeah, i would say that "the Simpsons" is the best cartoon, really, i know nobody that doesn't like it, but the new episodes are starting to lack good humor, it's a shame....

well, i'd like to have an avater but one that does a little animation(on a site, u know with a profile and stuff) i tried exporting a small .fla file into a GIF file (movie and imag) but it doesn't work with both, i keep getting just an image of the first frame of my movie...can anybody help me, i know someone can, i'e seen some Profiles here on NG with an animation as their Display Picture....
