3.93 / 5.00 4,634 ViewsAh, I figured it out, I was refering to the movieclip as boolet instead of "boolet". Such a silly mistake. Thanks for the help anyway.
I'm sure it's not the problem but here's an image anyway: [Link]
That's not the problem, the registration point is right on the tip of the gun, I made sure of that.
So, I'll try and keep this short:
I'm trying to make a gun spawn bullets at the tip of the gun when I press space, however the bullet movieclip does not align at all.
onClipEvent(load) {
i = 1;
}
onClipEvent(enterFrame) {
if(Key.isDown(Key.SPACE)) {
this.gotoAndStop(2);
duplicateMovieClip(_root.bullet, "boolet"+i, i);
_root[boolet+i]._x = this._x;
_root[boolet+i]._y = this._y;
i += 1;
}
}
What's wrong?
I'm used to using flash 8 pro and I've used it for years.
But, I can't find anywhere to download it.
Don't say 'Google it', I tried.
No torrents please.
I'm using flash 8, so this might not be the same for you.
Go to, file>import>import to library and find the song you want to use.
The, select the frame you want to start it on, in the control panel at the bottom, you will see some options.
Hope I helped.
The only way you can get better is by practicing.
So go and practice, practice, practice.
Try this:
[link]
That didn't fix my problem.
Well, I was editing an old game i flash, when something boggled me...
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (Key.isDown(Key.LEFT)) {
_x += _root.speedtext;
}
}
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)) {
_x -= _root.speedtext;
}
}
Now, the problem is, it works for when you press the right arrow, but not the left, speedtext is the variable of a text box.
Any ideas why.
NOTE: AS2
I'm using AS2.
function camControl():Void {
parentColor.setTransform(camColor.getTra nsform());
var scaleX:Number = sX/this._width;
var scaleY:Number = sY/this._height;
_parent._x = cX-(this._x*scaleX);
_parent._y = cY-(this._y*scaleY);
_parent._xscale = 100*scaleX;
_parent._yscale = 100*scaleY;
}
function resetStage():Void {
var resetTrans:Object = {ra:100, rb:0, ga:100, gb:0, ba:100, bb:0, aa:100, ab:0};
parentColor.setTransform(resetTrans);
_parent._xscale = 100;
_parent._yscale = 100;
_parent._x = 0;
_parent._y = 0;
}
says "{" expected athe the start of each block of coide and unexpected "}" at the end of eahc.
Help?
I'm recreating this because none of the answers in my last thread helped.
I need a VCam that will follow the character in one of my games around the screen,
because at the moment I can only fit a few platforms in a level, I want a nice big level, a VCam would help with this.
I'm using AS2, help please?
I need to know how to make a V-Cam for a game I'm making, any help?
I don't get what you're asking, describe in better detail please.

Would you happen to be talking about Americans?
I really have to read through pages -.-
I'll join AFTER I make a part, if I bother.
Bump,
when is this getting released?
Your template kinda...sucks.
I suggest either making something in PS/GIMP or using flash effects.
Ok, open your file.
Then on the toolbar go to:
File>export as image.
When this loads, select animated gif from the drop down menu and save it.
:D
Ok, so, when my character jumps air = true.
I was wondering how I could make it do an air attack when I press space and my char is in the air (air=true), I have no idea how.
I want it to gotoAndStop in frame 5 of my 'man' movieclip, so if you'd include that in the code, it would help.
help with Tutorials/code?
it's just a motion tween of a bunch of squares, I remain unimpressed.
I wish I was old enough to go, damn 13!
worst year of my life!

If you don't want people insulting you for being twelve, you shouldn't use your age to brag about your achievements.
Your batting average is only 2.11, it needs to be 3.
