Ok, point taken. Haven't anything about 2010 though. Anyways, for the theory to hold true the Big Bang Theory would have to be true. This is supported through sciences new understanding of the age of the universe (14.5 billion years old from what I recall) and continual expanding of the universe. Esentially from what I've gathered what the theory says is that when the total amount of universal energy is stretched to a certain point it will snap back into a single mass. Of course this can only happen at the speed of light (there's nothing faster than it) so we wont know till it's too late.
