God knows when something and or everything happens, but that doesn't mean animals have souls. It says somewhere in the Bible what the qualifications are to the human soul, and animals do not meet them. Something about the Holy Spirit inhabiting them or something like that.
Then why create something with consciousness if it's only point is to be born, live, mate, and die? And why let us humans get so emotionally attached to them if we will never see the again? To me it stands to reason that any conscious being must have a soul. Regardless of species, gender, race, or whether they are an Earthly being.(Yes, I believe in alien species. I doubt they are some of the things we conceived them as though.)
