No, we don't "deal with it" - in 2000, there was a mass protest for the space of a week, blockading refineries and so forth (although thery lost sympathy with go-slows). In fact, there was going to be one this week, but it was cancelled due to "good dialogue with the government." Which essentially means the price per litre will be dropped by 5p, then raised by 7p soon after.

Think of it like this - in 1945, the only nation that could be said to be Anti American was the USSR (after all, German troops were climbing over each other to surrender to the Americans, rather than risk being cuaght by the English, French or - worst of all - Russians).
