Man, he looks dumb doing it. So, to make it up to you, here's some Photoshopped nonsense.
"We haven't changed direction, we've just changed gear." - Tony Blair trying to smokescreen the general tonking his lot took in the recent elections, thus sounding more and more like Jimsween by the day.

"I will destroy the EU Government." - Robert "Kilroy!" Kilroy-Silk, upon being elected in the EU Elections.
"Who'se this jumped up little shit that thinks he can do anything? Let's just freeze him out and destroy him in public." - Every other member of the EU Parliament...including the other elected Brits.

Because Murdoch doesn't own the UK, does he? No, it's a different Rupert Murdoch that owns the best selling newspapers in the country (The Sun for builders, The Times for commuters), and all the Sky channels - which just so happens to include a stranglehold on football...or "bread and circuses", as a Roman senator put it, when describing how to placate the mob and keep them from your door.
As for being progressive, what do you mean? Blair tried to do with postal votes what Dubyuh did with Florida just last week.
Also our Empiare was the greatest te world has ever seen, at the start of the last century we OWNED 1/4 of the world. our island is impregnable from military forces. yet our politcal power is weaning due to the fact we are in Europe, i reckon if we left the EU we could become the 3 rd or 2nd largest economy in the world instead of 4th
I still pull for the Romans. Mostly as it winds up my Missus (who'se Greek), as well as the fact they advanced the world, only for it to step back once they left. And in no country was this more evident than England. After all, there weren't any Dark Ages before the Romans arrived, or during, but they sure didn't take long to arrive when they left. They seem to return when England lose a football match as well - as Croydon, Birmingham and Cambridge witnessed after Zidane executed the donkeys last night.
As for our economy, it would help if we had industry. Thatcher put paid to the main money making ones (coal, steel) 20-odd years ago.

Yeah - typical, really. No talent, but has friends in the right places. Even if imitating Hitler (or any other National Socialist Party member) is illegal in Germany, which is what all the fuss is about. As well as it just being a stupid idea to begin with.
Or, to put it in a n00b way: Basil Fawlty --> JBL.
However, one thing failed spectacularly, and no-one noticed - whilst Nu-Labour were thrashed left and right, only one main candidate stayed in place, and in place comfortably: Ken Livingstone.
However, I doubt that was the plan, was it? After all, he didn't want Ken to stand in 2000 (he won as an Independent), and brings him into the Labour fold again just as their image is being torn to shreds in the opinion polls? Are voters actually getting smart as well as spiteful?

Nationalism, perhaps, wasn't the best word to use (I keep getting different defintions from different sources). Chauvinism is more accurate to what I was describing.
I veer more towards Tribalism. "My tribe/country/city/football team/taste in music is better than yours." You're right about the self-preservation aspect, in other words. Look at the BNP and UKIP - they don't want other tribes to move onto our territory, stealing our women and making us obsolete.
As for what country I feel is the best in the world... Well, I don't see it in terms like that. I am an American, I am proud of what I am. I love my country and I would defend it and what it stands for, to the death if I had to. (Note I said my country, not my government! There are cases where a patriot will fight against his country's government to defend his country)
Which reminds me - what did happen to all those before the Iraq "War" saying they'll sign up ("you hippy/Commie/Saddam loving bastard" usually following)? That's the thing - people still revert to that tribal state, but seem to be less concerned with fighting for the ideals, and prefer watching it on TV.
In the case of Great Britain, there's also problems. Scots hate the English, the Welsh hate the English, the Irish hate the English...not exactly the most united foghting force. Mainly due to the tribalism of previous centuries, which generally involved the English using the Scots/Welsh/Irish as target practice or a way to see if their swords ned sharpening. or the Scots/Welsh/Irish starting it.
Just don't get started on South America...
At 6/10/04 09:56 PM, TheInfamousTM wrote: Oh, and before I write off this thread, I got one more thing to say to you, D2K.
Wrie it off? What, am I "PWNED!" now?
You claim that my labeling you prejudiced is just a buzzword and then (in obvious sarcasm) say "My, how RATIONAL you are." Obviously, it's an attempt on your part to question my wits.
You don't have any, as you've repeatedly proven yourself to be witless and unable to recognise subtle shifts in tone, instead reading everything flat and at face value. Which, by the way, gets on my nerves since so many people do it. Type first, think...when you want to complain about being flamed for general ignorance.
So, let's do a little test.
In the context of my arguments here, prejudice is defined as "an irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, a race, or their supposed characteristics."
Or a buzzword whipped out at the first opportunity to try and one-up yourself in any debate where America isn't being hailed as The Great Saint...
I'd say you are quite hostile to Americans; your posts regarding American citizens are thick with sarcastic jabs at their intelligence, such as this gem here:
Easy - it's what I've been calling Rational American Thinking forRight, so we have laid down this much. Now, most people probably do not consider hatred or hostility towards people of another nation to be prejudice, but it is. People of one nationality or another are just groups of people, much like those divided by ethnicity, or religion, or social choices.
some time. The person isn't just incorrect, oh no, they're either:
A. An idiot.
B. A Communist.
C. Osama bin-Laden's buttboy.
That isn't prejudice - that's a result of research (hey, I've been called a bin-Laden lover before on a few occasions, Saddam supporter on more - all because I'm not saying "Bomb the bastards to Hell" at the top of my lungs). You want to call it hatred, but that's because you want to paint me as the bad guy in this, and are trying every method in the book to do it.
However, to make a point, let's take all references to Americans from your posts and replace them with another group.
Easy - it's what I've been calling Rational Black Thinking for
some time.
Oh, right, now I'm racist. Couldn't see that one coming, could I?
Another whining Rational Black Thinker is bitching about
Michael Moore, making a complete ass out of himself in doing so,
and reminding us that there's more idiots ( ... ) in the black
community than any otherWhat the fucking hell is "the straight dope"? A heterosexual moron? Oh, right, that'd be 98% of blacks, then...
My God, you really are so desperate to make a point, despite not having one. By the way, Americans aren't a race - get that into your thick (and getting thicker, by the looks of it) skull. And if they can't take a little truth, LEAVE. I hear General is a nice place to hang out if you're inept...
I think most people would agree that statements like this would be rather prejudiced. I don't think many people would tolerate such remarks being made.
Me especially, as they're a waste of memory space designed to make you feel as if you know something.
Groan about it and make counteraccusations all you want, but I think this puts your remark and your attitude towards Americans in perspective, does it not?
No, it makes you sound like a vindictive brat with no sense, but a nice big flag to wave around come July 4th. Besides, WHAT ATTITUDE??? Is it wrong to wish ignorant fools would just shut the fuck up if they have nothing to sayand leave it to people that can put two and two together, rather than keep claiming that it's five because they say so? That's the method so many people take, and you're doing the same. You went for option (A), I'm an Idiot, and you didn't realise it. Instead, you try to make something of it, and failed to have any impact, apart from rolling eyeballs.
You just keep that in mind, bud. I believe it shouldn't be any more right to be hostile, hateful, or contemptuous of persons simply because they're of a particular nationality.
Hostile, hateful, blah blah blah. I've read it before, because you have nothing to add, but can't leave it alone. And once again, you assume that I hate all Americans, just because it's the only way your plan could possibly work, and that's where you fail MISERABLY. Yes, I hate all Americans, so therefore...Christ, just shut up. It's tiresome and predictible, and guess which three words can be put into action for you? R-A-T-I...
Aaaand that's all I've got to say on this.
That's rather arrogant - assuming you had something to say in the first place. You didn't - you just wanted to prove all Michael Moore supporters hate Americans. Especially the ones that see through this flag waving, chest beating crap perpetrated by you and countless others.
Go back to the herd.

No, this forum. Jeez, READ (note bold and underline there).Uh, okay. Yeah. Whatever. My comment and the meaning behind that comment went right over your head, it seems.
Not really, considering that ever since Oscar night, I've been reading reams and reams of like-minded (if havign a mind is an issue, which I doubt) comments, many of which in this thread. You don't get the idea that calling a thread "Michael Moore Sucks Ass" has anything to do with this, do you? It's like calling a film "Michael Moore Hates America", since those comments are on the same intellectual plain.
Would you stop with the buzzwords (which are all so predictible) please? Prejudice? It would help if people stopped proving me right, you know. Again, go through this thread for a few choice soundbites, then casually click a few on this forum.Heh. 'Prejudice' is a buzzword? I'll refrain from using it if you refrain from using 'Rational.'
Yes - it's one of the words you're guaranteed to see within two posts from anyone trying to defend "their" country. Trust me, I know the patterns, since I've seen them play out time and again for quite some time. It's the same with "If you don't like it, LEAVE" sentiments, or "You're jealous of us", or just plain old "Fuck you, you're from Canada." Clockwork.
So, lemme get this straight ... because of a handful of idiots on the internet, you think you are proven right that 300 million Americans are meatheads. Fuggin' swell there, D2K.
Not really - opinion polls usually add to the argument. The kind where it shows that 70% of Americans couldn't find Iraq on a map, but still want the place bombed to shit (see also: Sarajevo, Kosovo...). Again, you're just reeling off the clockwork responses.
Apparently, I hate ALL Americans now. My, how RATIONAL you must be if you think this. What the fucking hell is "the straight dope"? A heterosexual moron? Oh, right, that'd be 98% of Middle America, then...< sarcasm > Oh, geez ... *sob* I'm so sorry for labeling you a hateful person when I clearly didn't have any evidence of it! *sob* You only look down your nose at 98% percent of Middle America. Geez, man, I'm so, so, sorry. *sob* I guess you aren't prejudiced at all, huh? < / scarcasm >
Well done, you just made a complete ass out of yourself. I bet you didn't think I threw that line in because you'd go for it like the diseased scavanger that you clearly are. I have to have my fun when I'm getting bored of such tiresome debate.
Hateful? Yes - of people that waste my time with such inept whining and expect to be taken seriously. It's not my fault that, on this board, that does seem to be the Rational American Thinking contingent.
You see, there's where the probelms will set in,. because he'd have to skip over a lot of material, evidence, facts, logic...That's only if you disregard all the debate over whether or not all that material, evidence, facts and logic are fabricated or spun...
Or "He made it up, Miss." The same reasoning you get in Junior High. So, now you say Michael Moore is fabricating his material? By the way, it's a bit off saying that, when you consider the topic of his film fabricated stuff about Weapons of Mass Destruction, Niger, links with al-Qu'ida...
Moore is getting people off their asses to do something. Bush is putting them on their asses with a bullet in the head for no realistic reason. So, who is the one that deserves to be exposed?
What - people that do it are FUCKING MORONS. How is that negated? Show your working for that one, please.Damn, I knew I should have added a followup post clarifying that statement. I knew you'd pounce on that one.
Well, if you have to just say "I won a point" without any explanation, I would like an action replay. People are fucking morons, why else do the BNP have seats?
Alright, clarification. Your attempt to attach the label of "moron" to the director in that instance is baseless. Yes, people who bitch about a movie they haven't seen are muddled. And yes, IF the director was making his film solely about Farenheit 9/11, it would be rather idiotic. However, he is not; he is focusing on Moore in general.
Which part of Moore, pray tell? I seem to recall listing all the things he should consider, which I don't see in that little spiel. And the thing about focusing on Moore "in general" is that it's easier to focus on Moore "by generalising." How can he hate America, when he spent many years telling Americans that the people running their lives, and their country, are not going to consider them or their best interests over profit?
And that's the thing - how can you "hate America"? The statment itself is meaningless, because there is no definition for America apart from Big Counrty Between Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. THAT is what America is, so step back for a second and realise how that statment is just emotive crap on a childish level. What, h hates a two foot square piece of rock somewhere in Arizona, now?
Seen them all or read them all. Wait, are your sterotyping? Have you noticed a direct corrolation between Moore baiting and his Oscar speech? Were you put on this planet to try my sanity?Hmmm...
< D2KVirus > HAH! He mentioned "Bowling!" He obviously hates Moore because of the Oscar acceptance speech! What a rational thinking American!
That's what your comment looks like in my eyes, D2K.
Don't try and act clever - it doesn't suit you. Especially when you're stuck in a spot where you can't salvage anything, bitchy comments or...well, that's the only option, isn't it? I told you, tick, tock, tick, tock...
How's this - I never have heard Moore's oscar speech, nor read a transcript. My dislike for Moore comes from the amount of spin and deception that is in his work - and the fact that, despite all this, he won an award for it.
So, will you list the amount of Moore's work that you're familiar with? By the way - bullshit. So, am I to assume you don't watch the news, read newspapers, download headlines, or read this very board (where there is a full transcript somewhere)? Wow, that's a way to make yourself look well-informed...
By the way, it's always good to say you were wary of Bowling beforehand. Hindsight aids blatant falsehoods as a means to strengthen an argument.

Yes, although I'm not entirely sure why.
I seemed to know less about the candidates policies and more about the congestion charges. we were given very little information about them and expected to make a choice on that little info, a choice which will affect us all for the next 4 years
There was a booklet posted (well, I got one) with the usual policies, many of which were so ludicrous they were worthy of being put in the Dumb Things thread (the BNP wanted to stop expansion of Heathrow, which has already started).
Most people I know voted for Respect: The Unity Coalition (George Galloway) - yes, that is their party name - and after that it was a smattering of Ken and a few Greens. So, no UKIP or BNP...but on the other hand, I know a few non-voters.

Note: sarcasm. Take half a second off occasionally, rather than just hitting "Reply with quote."
Furthermore, Moore has put out a lot of other works other than Farenheit 9/11. I mean, we all know him for "Bowling for Coulimbine," practically.
TV Nation, The Awful Truth, Roger & Me, The Big One, Downsize This, Stupid White Men, Dude: Where's My Country?

Moore films such as "Bowling" and the highly
anticipated "Fahrenheit 9/11," which will be released June 25
and which Wilson has not seen.
And? Note the point he hasn't seen Farenheit 9/11, so is unable to comment. Note he can't think of any other Moore material (which is odd, since his last two books topped the Bestsellers list) - got any way to bold and underline that, considering it isn't there?
From what I can tell, "Michael Moore Hates America" is not focusing merely on the aforementioned movie. How can it, when it isn't even out yet?
No, it's a generalisation to play up to dumbass patriotic robots across the nation. And that's just the title, since it won't have any content to speak of. Well, can you see any mention of it, or is it just being sold on the title?
In short, the guy wants to bitch about ALL of what Moore does, not just a movie that practically no one has had a chance to see since the release is still half a month away.
Oh, right, so that makes him an authority on Moore and brain usage? So, he'll be saying Michael Moore is an ass for sticking up for the working man against Corporate America (which is everything until Bowling, if you didn't know)? You see, there's where the probelms will set in,. because he'd have to skip over a lot of material, evidence, facts, logic...
In that light, your spiel about people bitching before products are released is largely negated.
What - people that do it are FUCKING MORONS. How is that negated? Show your working for that one, please.
Strange nobody seemed to bear a grudge against Moore before that, isn't it?I can't speak for others, but my dislike for him started once I read about the straight dope behind many of what Moore put into his films like "Bowling." Beforehand I was skeptical of the movie, anyway.

Come on, calling a film "Michael Moore Hates America" sort of gives the game away to what the guy's aims are, doesn't it? Somewhere between A and C, to be exact. The guy hasn't seen Faranheit 9/11, yet wants to bitch about it?
That's the same as all the Fundamentalist Christians complaining about Dogma before it came out, but for some reason were very quiet after it was released. Hey, we have that in England, too - the Brass Eye paedophile special in 2001, or Derren Brown's seance last week getting plenty of complaints...many of which before the shows aired. You can't omplain when there isn't anything in front of you but commercials without coming across as a complete dick, can you? If so, please tell many, many people how, as they need to know if they ever want to be taken seriously, or at the very least not ignored for being a bunch of morons with nothing to do but complain and whine.
Then again, you seem to party to Moore's works ... Perhaps you see any sort of opposition as "whining" and "evidence that Americans are ignorant hicks?" I really hope that ain't so, but I see hints of it. "Oh look, someone wants to expose Moore, typical of those idiot Americans."
No, I see whining hicks making films called "Michael Moore Hates America" like I view a lot of the posters on this thread - barely worthy of my contempt, let alone my time. The guy isn't exposing Moore, he's acting like a sad dick with a hair in his ass because he dissed the President at the Oscars. Britain is the best country!!! Even if Scotland, Wales and both Irelands failed to qualify for the European Championships, and if there's any justice in the world England will be sent packing by Croatia. Well, anyone with half a braincell knows France'll have a field day...
