What I don't understand is why people are so opposed to war? What good is it going to do just sitting here waiting for Saddam to attack again? So he, along with people like Osama BinLaden, uses terrorism to scare people into letting him get his way. He is, and has been for some time, working on building dangerous weapons, which could do a great deal of damage to our world. Letting him do that, and not taking any action to stop him is foolhardy, and people need to understand that. We can't just sit here in America, and hope that it will all go away, because it won't. Like most people, I sure as hell don't want to go fight in a war, but if it comes down to it, I will, because defending my country for the people I care about is more important than my selfishness. It should be important to you too. WHat person can really say that they don't want to protect their country? And if they do, why the fuck do they still live in that country? If you don't like the US, get the hell out, because we don't need you and your self righteous views. Protection ourselves and our interests is our first priority, and ignoring a very real threat to that just because some people might die in the process, defending our freedom as a nation, is foolish. Some must die so that others might live. That's the way it is, and has been forever; and no amount of your bitching is going to change that.

There are so many basic, childish, and factual errors in your argument, I'll just use bulletpoints to save an hour or two;

1. This is not a war. Look at the definition;

A concerted effort or campaign to combat or put an end to something considered injurious.

Yes, in 1991, Iraq invaded Kuwait. Note the fact it was over a decade since this happened. Since then, has Iraq shown any sign of aggression to another country? Compare to the US in the first couple of years of this Century; not popular in Serbia, Albania (Kosovo) or Afghanistan, who they bombed to shit for no gain, while China and Palestine aren't exactly the most US-friendly states either, courtesy of spy planes and selling Israel cheap weapons, and not doing anything about Sharon's genocidal campaign. Who are the aggressors?

2. "What good is it going to do just sitting here waiting for Saddam to attack again?"

Attack who? The US? Jordan? Kuwait? Iran? Be specific.

3. "He won't listen to negotians or peace talks, because he really doesn't care."

Bull-fucking-shit. Twice Saddam has agreed to the terms and conditions of the UN to let weapons inspectors into the country, three times the terms have been changed by Bush. Have you noticed a pattern yet? What is Bush so afraid of finding; all his talk of these so-called "Weapons of mass Destruction" is, in fact, a huge lie?

4. "Saddam is a Dictator, and he wants absolute power. Not just in Iraq, but anywhere he can get it.'

So does Bush. So does Sharon. Note these are the leaders marching armies into other countries with no real justification.

Anyone with an iota of intellect (as in not watching primetime news and swallowing Government bullshit so readily) will realise Sharon is the aggressor, and just wants a little more territory to go with what he owns, especially if that means steamrolling over a different culture, with whom he doies not appear to appreciate in one part. Has anyone else noticed he has the remarkable power to change his appearance at will?

Seriously, think about it. Last Monday, the police were looking for a Hispanic guy, by last Friday he was "of Middle Eastern descent" (OH NO!!!), and today, it's a black guy.

What the Hell is going on??? Are the authorities trying to further persecute every minority in the Virginia/Maryland area, or is it a case of every ethnic minority rising up, simultaniously, with sniper rifles, to fight back against white oppressors at the exact same time? Soon it'll be a Liberal, anti-gun, anti-Capitalist hippy that's doing this, in order to make the NRA look like a bunch of incompetant rednecks with nothing else to do when a KKK meeting isn't scheduled.

But even more seriously, if I had a sniper rifle, in the general vicinity of Washington DC, I'd head for that big white building and make myself a shoe-in for the Nobel Peace Prize. At least they should prioritise...

Personally, I think his little bitchfest is going to backfire on him, when UN Inspectors are allowed into Iraq when Bush fails to move the goalposts in time - twice Iraq have allowed them to enter the country, three times Bush has changed the stipulations - which in turn will lose the US many allies.

Take into account that the Middle East is a volatile place, and having this jumped up little shit running around declaring war on anything with a towel on its head will rapidly create support for Iraq. If the US go it alone (oh yes, and Tony sends in our army to help the PR exercise), they won't get such an easy ride as they would think. Carpet bombing doesn't work, unless you want a high civilian body count (look at action in Kosovo and Afghanistan for that).

This bee in his bonnet about deposing Saddm will fail miserably. The US tactic of killing the head of state, thus ending the tyranny, has failed spectacularly in the past. The new Afghan President has had several attempts on his life already, and let's not forget that Chile used to have an "Evil Liberal" in charge...until the CIA moved in, blew his brains out, and put in a far more preferable leader, going by the name of Pinochet if memory serves correct. Similarly, Saddam has a network lined up in his place, from his son downwards, and they can step into the breach and carry on regardless.

After rattling a few sabres, Bush is going to have to face up to the fact he will face stern opposition from the UN, especially if the weapons inspectors are actually allowed to venture onto Iraq (again, it's Bush holding them up), and prove that he is making all this shit up.

Carrying on where his father left off is what we can oly hope for. No, not Persian Gulf Distraction Mk.II, but getting his ass voted out of office at the next election.

The truth is, he won't act on his intentions, he just wants us to believe he will. The possibility is that other countries will turn against the US, not Iraq, and that is something that his cabinet of horrors do not want, even if they will not admit it.

Nice try, Dub-yuh Posted October 17th, 2002 in Politics

So, the latest highly sensible utterence from the mouth of George W. Bush (and the pen of Dick Cheney...) is that the bombing in bali was, of course, perpetrated by al-Qua'ida (or whatever this week's spelling is).

Now, for anyone who's head isn't firmly rammed up their illiterate, incompetant, Christian Fundamentalist, warmongering ass, this statement is another entry to bulging file of terrorising the US citizens into getting a better rating on the opinion polls.

If you don't believe that statement, here's a dictionary definition;

TERRORISM - The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

Every time he says there will be another attack on the US, or makes shit up about Iraq having "Weapons of mass Destruction" (another buzz word), is that not threatening the people with intended action?

Anyway, as I was saying, the attack in Bali on Monday was perpetrated by, to quote Jello Biafra, Osama bin-Werewolf, because we know for a fact they are the only terrorist group in the world that will do such a thing. Certainly not the IRA, those lovable Irish scamps, with a history of such acts, as well as being harboured in the US in the past, and supported by Blair et al straight into Whitehall. Clearly, the Birmingham Bombings were just a harmless prank that went wrong.

But for all his flapping that Ossie's back to his best/worst, he's making himself seem more desperate than ever. even his little bitch, Tony Blair, has momentarily grown a pair and gone on the record to say it was more likely Jemaah Islamiah, an Indonesian extremist group, although he then said, because they're Muslim, they're linked to al-Queda.

But why would bin-Laden's cronies bother bombing Indonesia? Bali is hardly an example of Westernised culture, due to being in the Pacific rim last time I checked, and I doubt their President ordered Afghanistan to be bombed at any time to divert media attention from the story that he got blown by an intern or two - yes, I remember that one, and the strange incident when Pakistan reported bombs hit them, then mysteriously recanted the report about 4 hours later. In fact, most of the victims of the attack were Australian, with a couple of Brits - hardly a worthy target, unlike The Pentagon or World Trade Center.

The only surprise is that The Puppet didn't use this as a shining example of Iraq testing out their "Weapons of Mass Destruction" on unsuspecting Balinese. By the way, a nuclear warhead (which the US has 22,000 of) has a range of 500 miles at best. Unless Saddam gets in the good graces of Castro (terrorist/Communist, same difference), the only worry is a stray missile might destroy the shipment of weapons coming into Sharon's possession for his own personal Holocaust, which neither Blair or Bush is batting an eyelid to, apart from the rare instance of saying they killed a few too many Panistinians this time, or the rental on their bulldozers just ran out.

Besides, if Saddam somehow reduceed Sharon to a pile of ashen dust, how could anyone claim he's evil, after oing millions a favour - although the deficit in the US economy will mysteriously start growing again...

New Report Seen Slamming U.S. Music Industry

By Sue Pleming

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The music industry is expected to come under fierce criticism on Tuesday in a new U.S. government report on the marketing of violent and lewd entertainment to children.

The Federal Trade Commission study, due for release on Tuesday at around 10 a.m. EDT follows a scathing FTC report in September that said the entertainment industry ``aggressively'' marketed adult-rated films, video games and music to under-age audiences.

A source familiar with the FTC's progress report said it came down hardest on the music industry, while the film and video-game sectors were found to have made some headway since last September but still had work to do.

``The music industry comes off looking the worst of all three in terms of progress they have made since the last study was done,'' the source said.

He said the report did not propose any specific actions to be taken against the industry, preferring instead to rely on self-regulation and public pressure.

In the past, the FTC has balked at policing Hollywood, citing constitutional hurdles.

Last September's FTC report on the entertainment industry was ordered by former President Bill Clinton after the massacre in April 1999 at Columbine High School in Colorado raised new concerns about the effect of violent entertainment on young people.

The music industry, in particular, has been criticized for not providing ratings according to age for the sale of recordings with sexually explicit, homophobic, misogynistic and violent lyrics such as those by Grammy Award winning rapper Eminem.

Music Likened To Books

Amy Weiss, a spokeswoman for the Recording Industry Association of America, and other music industry sources defended the music business ahead of the report.

``Music is unique for the same reason there are no rating systems for books. The works of musical artists are not rated. It's virtually impossible to rate words,'' Weiss told Reuters.

For 15 years, record companies have been placing ``parental advisory'' stickers on albums that have profanity and explicit lyrics but have never suggested an age limit for albums with ''parental advisory'' stickers.

Connecticut Democratic Sen. Joseph Lieberman is expected to introduce a bill later this week aimed at punishing firms that market violent media products to children.

The proposed legislation would target ``false and deceptive advertising'' of adult-rated films, music and electronic games to under-age audiences, an aide said.

The bill, co-sponsored by Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Herbert Kohl, is likely to face opposition from Hollywood lobbyists who say it amounts to cultural censorship and is contrary to First Amendment rules protecting free speech.

I propose a new law.

Any organisation containing the letters "TC" making up two thirds of their abbrieviated title should be ignored, told to fuck off, then shot out of a cannon into a Chinese airspace.

All they do is bitch, moan and bullshit us thinking thy're important.
