Anyways, she is back to making some cookies, I hope that things will be alright this year, I have gotten a job and I have saved up $5,000 I am going to send my mom on a trip, with us and we can escape our life from here for a while. I'm not sure where I would like to take her, I am thinking of down south, not like Texas, but like Cuba or something. That would be a great chance to escape memories...

Oh Jesus! Posted December 22nd, 2006 in General

Alright this is tricky to write about, my hands are still shaking from after this terrible accident. Anyways it started like this...

My mom was in the kitchen getting some stuff ready for Christmas (she likes to do things early) anyways, she was cooking and had some Christmas songs up full blast. I was in the next room playing some video games, and I had some Iron Maiden blasting like, really loud. If you must know what song it was it was "The Trooper" Anyways, my mom comes in and goes "What the hell are you listening too?" I just stay focused on the game and reply without looking up "Iron Maiden, you should know that" She just shakes her head, and I actually start to hear her singing under her breathe the lyrics... But that is besides the point. Anyways, she continues and I then put on my favorite band "As Cities Burn" I was listening to the song "The Widow" And the lyrics came on "...Did you think of me? Did you even for a second hesitate in the doorway, it's just something that I like to know, though I'd still love you if you told me, if you just walked away My God, what a world you love where men bury their sons
And without thought just walk away
" My mom storms in, she is outraged the fact that I was listening to a Christian band. You see, my dad has left us a while ago and since then she does not believe in God. She used to go to church everyday, it was wonderful, you see? I am a Christian, I love God, I trust in God & I have tried to tell my mom that God is there for us even though dad isn't. It's a shame my mother is too heart broken to continue or believe. Anyways, while she was in the room the lyrics come on "Dead man, is it being high that makes you alive? It makes you leave behind three boys and a wife in '89, As the track marks inched their way up your arm. My mother taught my brothers and I not to call you daddy, But to call you father She just burst in tears, and I didn't know what to do. I shut off the game, the song still playing, and I whispered in my moms ear "Even though dad isn't here, God & I are, and we love you more then any words could say" We just sat there, and my mom was still crying so hard, it's almost Christmas, and my mom is in a state where she can't even hold a tray without it crashing to the ground, I don't know what to do. I am in a state where I am honestly heart broken, not for myself but for my mother. I love her so much, she is incredible, waking up every morning to a great breakfast, opening my lunch bag when I was in elementary school and seeing a surprise (a chocolate bar, a toy etc) with a note, that said "I love you Brad, Don't ever forget that".... I love my mom it kills me to see her like this, I'm not looking for sympathy, I just feel for my mom.

I still find this really hard to believe, there is still the fact that you thought the BBS as intimidating, you would not post that in your first like ... not even 100 posts... you would talk it over with someone you know, and can trust.

My brother bought me the new iPod nano, in silver... it is pretty sweet

Response to: Coming out to your parents Posted December 22nd, 2006 in General

I've just noticed that the topic starter hasn't been here in a while... could this be because I was right? Quite possibly, secondly this isn't me trying to be "against you" this is just me finding this thread hard to believe, if the BBS is intimidating, then I wouldn't post this as one of your first couple... Secondly, I'm sure a Doctor or something would be better to help you through this, not Newgrounds.

Response to: fire fox or Opera Posted December 22nd, 2006 in General

I personally use Firefox, it seems fast, and it is just ... a nice, smoother more "user friendly" browser. I suggest you just do some reading on both of them and see which one suits your needs better.

That is quite rude, and I am sure you would either just get slapped, punched, or kicked. Then on top of that reported for sexual harassment. Oh, you must be a complete fool to actually think that would work.

No, I'm not an alt. I just didn't make an account for a long time because I didn't have the patience too. But since I'm always blamming and protecting and stuff, and figure I may as well get points for it.

You see? This is what I am not understanding...

BLAMS: Involved in the termination of 3 crappy entries.
SAVES: Assisted in the protection of 10 quality entries.

Those are your stats, yet you say:
"But since I'm always blamming and protecting and stuff, and figure I may as well get points for it."
That makes no sense at all, Obviously if you have been here for a while "blamming and protecting "stuff"" then your sign up date would be earlier. Although, it is not and you have only "blammed" 3 entries... I could go do that now, and 10 protection points? that can be done in less then a day...

Plus the BBS is a bit intimidating for people who haven't posted before. Not to mention the high idiot population. No offense to anyone. :-P

You seem to be posting fine, and with confidence for someone who could be "intimidated"

I'm just wondering... by the way you post, and how you knew how to quote more then one person (page one) It seems to me that you are an alt account. Now, either you could be an alt account and this could be a joke, or you an alt account to take away... getting made fun of on your main account, either way, are you or are you not an alt?

Do you have a scroll bar. Posted any code used could help too.

no scroll bar, it is a button that scrolls a dynamic text box..

that wont help.. anyways..

Creating a Grassy Field:
The following instructions will help teach you how to create an interactive, grassy field:

1. Create a new document in Flash MX by going to File | New. A new, blank Flash MX movie will be displayed. Set the width and height of the movie to 300 pixels by 200 pixels respectively.

2. Now, we need to draw the grass. Click the Pencil Tool from your toolbox. Select a green line color and draw a smooth, curved line near the bottom of your Flash stage:

3. Once the blade of grass has been drawn, select the blade of grass and press F8 (or go to Insert | Convert to Symbol). The Convert to Symbol dialog box will appear. Enter an imaginative name, select movie clip, and press OK. The blade of grass is now a movie clip.

4. Select the movie clip you just created. In the Properties panel, give the movie clip the instance name grass:

uplicating Grass
Instead of copying and pasting the grass movie clip hundreds of times, you can use Flash to copy the movie for you. To duplicate the movie, first, right click on Frame 1 and select Actions. Copy and paste the following code:

for (i=0; i<300; i++) {
_root.grass.duplicateMovieClip("movie"+i,i
);
}

Making Grass Position and Visibility Random
Now that the duplicating portion of the animation is through, we need to work on placing the grass in random locations. We also need to account for depth, varying sizes, and visibility that occurs because of it.

Right click on the grass movie clip and select Actions. Copy and paste the following code into the Actions dialog box:
onClipEvent (load) {
this._x = Math.round(-10 + Math.random()*350);
this._xscale = (50+Math.random()*350);
this._yscale = (50+Math.random()*150);
this._alpha = (10+Math.random()*90);
rxn = Math.round(2+Math.random()*4);
}

Making the Grass Move
If you previewed your movie, you will see a nice field of hundreds of grass blades. In their current form, while nicer than what we created a few minutes ago, the grass is lifeless and static.

It is time to make the grass move:

1. Right click on the grass movie clip and select Actions. The actions dialog box will appear with the code you pasted from above.

2. Now, make sure your Actions dialog box is set to Expert Mode. Press Ctrl + Shift + E or press the little icon in the top-right corner of the Actions dialog box and select Expert Mode:

[ ensure you are in Expert Mode ]

3. Once you have selected Expert mode, place your cursor after the last line and press Return. Copy and paste the code from the following box into your Actions Dialog box (after the first section of code):

onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
x = (_root._xmouse+50)/rxn;
this._xscale = -x;
this._x -= x/10;
pos = this._x;
if (pos<-50) {
this._x += Math.round(290+Math.random()*100);
}
}

Yay for Kirupa.com (worth the bookmark)

frame by frame,
or duplicate animated movie clips eg.

make a straind of hair or grass, Frame by frame it, in a movieclip. then duplicate that movie clip however you need it.
