Hey look I know that back then that the laws of Brittian were the laws of Canada but this is the modern age. If Brittian passed a law right now it would have no effect on Canada, were not discussing the past since I know that Brittian had a big role in our government but nowadays there government can only try to influence ours not control.

Is our adaptation speeding up? No way to know since everything we've created n invented, it was already here, the raw materials used to make these things has been here, the only this that was missing was the time it would take to stumble onto it. Evolution is simply a lie.

Okay buddy first of all if you dont believe in evolution then why the fuck are you in a forum with people talking about it. Secondly I dont know about you but id rather believe theres a reason why there is so many different organisms than just the simplicity "God did it". Id rather believe that we evolved from other organisms than just "God did it" and the reason why we have so much in common with the great apes rather than "God did it."

English Westminster Parliament actually possesses (as in, it is above) the constitutions of Australia and Canada. Since the English law is Common law (unwritten mostly) they can pretty much come up and say "Today we abolish the Canadian and Australian constitution" which would mean that these two countries would CEASE TO EXIST.

I dont know where you studied law but I am Canadian and in the sixties our government fought for the possession of our constitution and won so as Canadians we are in possession of our own constitution. As for the Queen being in power, She has no real power in Canada the Governal General is supposed to represent her authority in the government but in the modern government the Governal General and the Queen are purly for ceremonial purposes.

Very true. But let me ask you a question, do you ever see fusion as a affordable energy source or to you is it just nonsense?

The biggest problem with fusion is the amount of heat necessary to create a fusion reaction. That heat is difficult to create economically without first creating a fission reaction. Once created that heat is difficult to control.

Well true but that why I said it is a very real future of energy. Right now scientists are experimenting with magnetic walled reactors that force the particles away from the walls, plus I know fusion seems like a longshot but so did going would telling someone were gonna go to the moon in the 1800's.

Also, the concern about stealing nuclear waste isn't so much that it would be stolen during shipping, but that it would be stolen during storage. During storage they are left in concrete containers underground, with shovels and jackhammers you could probably steal the waste. To steal the waste from the shipping vehicles would require overpowering/eluding its guards

Ill give you that nuclear fission reactors are rather unsafe energy. But you said earlier on that it has no future but nuclear energy has a very bright future, I am reffering to the concept of Nuclear Fusion Power Plants. In a fusion power plant uranium isn't used for fuel but instead deuterium water (Heavy Water) and the way it works is the nucleus of the Hydrogen atoms are literally fused together resulting in astronomical amounts of energy. ANd the best part is that is produces no emissions, One plant can produce LOTS of energy and it has no hazardous waste since the byproduct is unradioactive helium gas which is already in our atmosphere.

If you need more proof about the power of fussion reactions look up in the sky and stare at the sun, the sun is on huge fusion reactor and I don't have to tell you how much energy it produces. If we can produce fusion reactions on a much smaller scale than the sun, then the whole energy crisis would be over for more information look at: http://www.pppl.gov/fusion_basics/pages/

Response to: Humans Posted January 1st, 2009 in Politics

As humans we have an amazing abiity to imitate what we see around us. When we are children thats when we form our behaviour and morals, other animals do this to but not to the same extent. But even when we are adults if we are placed in a different culture we adapt their language, views and lifestyle. Our behaviour is based on our surrondings, the people we are with, and the way we were raised.

Response to: Is Atheism logical? Posted December 27th, 2008 in Politics

This whole arguement is about the meaning of atheism but atheism is not a religion it is the conclusion people have come to from the facts, the facts are there is no strong evidence either way about god. The reason people are atheist is because the modern person can no longer relate to religion, whether religion preeches tolerance or peace its not whats written down on paper its what the religion does in practise. All religious zealots have done is persucute anyone who thinks differently and because of that there has been more wars and bloodshed caused by religious views than anything else

I think we can all agree that it doesnt matter what something means in theory but in practise is where its important. All religions preach understanding and tolerance but this cannot be acheived through murder and persucution.

I BELEIVE that we should focus less on the "isms" in life and focus on the similarities between us, both my religous and atheist brethren can agree that there has been too much fighting over the "isms" in life and isnt it the lord Jesus Christ who said "love thy neightbor".

I am a atheist but i do not persucute those who beleive, they are my brothers of a different faith and I accept that because it is they're choice, just like its my choice to be a athiest and the most amazing thing we have in life is the freedom of choice, and I choose like how you choose so we all need to understand that.

Response to: goods and bads of communism + demo Posted December 26th, 2008 in Politics

Communism and democracy people have been fighting over this for decades. The fact is no system of government is perfect or works as good as it sounds. The major differences is the economic policies (referring to socialism and capitalism) each have their advantages, in socialism the economy is more stable since their is no fluxuation in loans or the stock market and there is more distribution in wealth since in capitalism 2% of the population own 80% of the wealth. But capitalism also has it perks mainly the freedom of choice, and the effeciency of the workers. Neither system is flawless so maybe the answer shouldnt be either socialism or capitalism but instead a mixture of both systems.

Response to: Canada to power Posted December 26th, 2008 in Politics

Everyone here is assuming that if Canada became a power they would attack the United States, you know theres a big world out there. If we really were destined on becoming a superpower than we could start by invading countries like greenland who always threatend our northern sovereignty, no countries would really stop us; United States has a economic crisis and many wars in the middle east, Russia or China wouldnt care, and the EU & UN is more preoccupied in whats happening in Georgia and Africa.
