Thanks :)
I'll try it later... it's 3 AM right now, just woke up and checked this, time to go back to sleep.
But, before I do, I have another question...
After I uninstall my current video card, it'll still be POSSIBLE to boot up, right?

You tried to install the new drivers before you put your card in right? That's why it says it can't find suitable hardware.
So in my second post I said to remove the old drivers, but don't install the new ones yet. Then shut down, insert your new video card and boot up. It will look horrible (600x480 resolution, or something similar), but thats normal until you install the new drivers.
Once the new card is in, and you don't have any video card drivers, you should be able to install the new ones without any problems.
Sorry for the confusion.
Ohhhh, okay. I'll have to figure out how to uninstall my current drivers...
Do you think you could assist me with that?
Sorry... This is my first time working with drivers and the like.

I said
1. Remove your old drivers and shut down
2. Insert the new video card
3. Boot up and install the new drivers
You can't have both drivers at once, and you can't have the drivers for the wrong card in your system (Since when you plug in a PCI card is supercedes the onboard one) so if you remove your old drivers, then put your card in, it should boot up fine, but it won't operate well until you install the new drivers and reboot.
If that doesn't work, post again.
Yes, you did post that, but I thought I responded to it saying that it will not let me install the drivers for the video card I'm trying to put in... the installer says that it cannot find compatible hardware.
Hi there.
I'm trying to install a new video card on my computer, but I'm running into problems...
Basically, this is what happens.
I put the video card in...
I plugged the monitor into it and booted up.
The screen displayed the manufacturer's logo, then went black, and stayed black for a half hour.
What's up with this?
My other graphics card is onboard, so I cannot remove it.
Any help?

It's like asking a retard who's on pills to make him more retarded.
And thanks, I'll ask in the computer hospital :)

You can't have both installed or it causes massive conflicts. Especially with onboard.
That's all it should take.

Hi there. Tonight at 12:00 AM, Adult Swim is airing the debut of the English dubbed version of the anime based on the popular manga series, "Deathnote."
This means that they're going to be dubbing all the episodes... I'm freaking excited. This is going to kick the ass of reading subtitles.

You would probably need some type of adapter.

I don't think that it's against the law -- I think that the lawbreakers in this case are either the websites hosting the videos or the users who uploaded them, thus violating the TOS, not someone who's just linking to it.

Yeah, pretty fucking ridiculous that now you can get arrested just for fucking LINKING to files. This is an infringement of justice.

I don't think so :S How can I do that?
Anyway, here's what I always tell new linux users who don't know what to do.
Don't reboot into Windows. Leave linux on, and use it for everyday things like you do with Windows. When you don't know how to do something, get on google and look it up. That's the only way you'll ever learn linux to the point of being comfortable with it.
So in my case, I found Firefox pretty quick, so I can browse the web. Amarok for music, Kopete for MSN, Kaffeine for movies, GIMP for photo editing and creation, KDevelop for programming, Ktorrent for bittorrent, and all sorts of desktop mods to make my linux desktop look better than Windows ever did.
You just have to force yourself not to reboot because you want to do something that you only know how to do in Windows. That's it.
Alrighty... Sounds like some good advice. Thanks :)
I'm probably going to learn how to use Terminal because of how many good things I've heard from it, and just because it sounds like something interesting to learn, and could help me out in a hacking game that I'm making.

I'm sure there are mirrors of the site though, just incase this would happen. I'll try and find one.

Hell, using that site wasn't even considered piracy!!! It just indexed!
If that's considered piracy, then everyone should be fucking arrested for watching shows on Google and Youtube.
Oh. Well, then I can imagine it being shut down, but that's not what THIS topic is for...
I personally think that Tv-Links being shut down is freaking rediculous.
Now it's illegal to distribute links?!?
"Hey man, I've just found a link to this cool commercial! Check it out!"
"No !! Don't send it! I don't want the FBI knocking on my door for watching a video uploaded by a user breaking the TOS on a streaming website!!!"

"TVLINKS has been forced to switch data center's from MPAA threats. Now we need your help. Please consider donating. Apparently it is now illegal to link to a website that displays illegal content. But what about the sites that are actually housing the video uploads? Oh wait, they're owned by Google, and sites like YouTube have already paid off the MPAA to turn their head."
Well, fuck... After about 10 minutes of using, this happened. :'(

I upgraded my laptop from win2k to xp, only to realize after my wireless card isnt working.
I also updated the driver but during the setup it said "we cannot find the device"
I have no idea what to do,
any help?
I would recommend just finding out the exact model for the wireless card and completely redownloading the driver (just google '*model* driver')
So, I just got finished installing Lniux Ubuntu 7.04 on an 82 gb partition of my 320 gig slave drive... On it right now, no huge problems so far, but I'm wondering...
What next?

Cartoon network gets suckier every new show they add, as well does about every other channel. In fact, just about the only thing you see on tv is Cartoons, comedy and re-runs. Except for the occasional new episode of something. But, lately that's about all......
Such as the new episode of "The Office" in a half hour.
I look forward to Thursdays every week, and NEXT WEEK, THE NEW FUCKING SCRUBS season starts. That's the best show ever created.
So I'm pissing my pants in anticipation.
As for Boomerang -- we ony have digital cable downstairs, and I spend (most of) my time up here, on the third floor. I mean, it's a decent channel, but we just have normal cable up here, so I don't get it up here. BUT I STILL GET FUCKING NBC FOR THE OFFICE AND SCRUBS.
I'm a bit addicted to these shows...
*twitch*
Anyone else a fan?

Yeah... But not only Nick. Just about every channel...
I mean, Comedy Central still kicks ass, but fucking, like... Cartoon Network?
That shit is shit now.
They used to play fuckin good shows like Cow and Chicken.
God, I loved that show...
I think it's the Disney channel that's bringing all the other ones down...
All their success (somehow) has made the other companies go "Wow, all we've gotta do is play the gayest shit, and kids will watch!"

Worth a shot ;)
Everything is excellent with that computer with the exception of the graphics adapter, so I see no reason why it shouldn't work
Sweet :D
Thanks
Hopefully performance will be good with it.
I'll try it out later, gotta go to school now, and not sure what I'm doing afterwards (probably going over my friend's house for a while).
I'll try it when I can.
Thanks!
Hi there.
My friend just gave me a computer yesterday (he's getting a new one and had nothing else to do with it) and I'm trying to think of what to do with it.
I figured I'd try installing Vista if it'll work, just to check it out, and if I don't like it I'll put XP back on there or something.
Anyhow, here are the specs for the computer...
320 GB HDD
2 GB DDR RAM
64 MB DDR SDRAM (Nvidia Geforce4 MX420)
2.26 GHz Intel Pentium 4 Processor
Would Vista work on this system? Thanks.

That's a lot of work. I'd imagine at least the programming side of it would be closer to a thousand, excluding any UI design work.
It doesn't matter whether it's from the ground-up or not -- when finished, it will be conceived as a myspace clone.
And also, I agree with different.
If you expect someone to code a whole new Myspace from the ground up... That's a fucking SHITLOAD of work. There are so many things... There's no way you're getting it for a 'few hundred'.
Try again.
