no, you dont. you dont have to study realism. you can study form, function theory and history. you can have realistic attributes to your work. you can study concept and principles, but you dont NEED to study realism. you can UNDERSTAND and APPRECIATE realism but you dont have to study it. you dont have to do it either. many people think you do, and that botheres me, because why is fountain by de champ considered art. he knew art history and theory, as with most if not many of the da da-ists did when they made ready-mades. they were still artists and even if you dont think that, they were still very influencial to the art world

sigh, dont start with me umree ;) it falls more under seurrealism rather than abstract. and while i am doing slightly more real sketches for parctice, you dont NEED to study it. you can justify work without anatomy or realism

very good:D shadings good, shapes are good, drawings good
the one of the lefts head is way to big, but other than that its great

i love the little details tho
the front sight, the bayonette stud at the front, gas pipe. the clips also good

pretty good, only gnit picking from me:)
the breech should be in front of the sight, the barrel and hand gard should be connected, and its lookin pretty flat. also, i dont really like the handle if your goin for a WWII look, becuase those were on the Browning deployable M1919s and german MG42s like i said,gnit picking
