So, this would apply to a patient in a coma, too, right? You wouldn't feel bad about killing them, would you? They have no conscious reasoning abilities, they are a "parasite" living off of life support and the money of others, so they have no rights then if I follow your reasoning. Why don't we just kill all of them and save a lot of money?

Sources? Those missiles are precision targeted to within two feet. They aren't blasting apartment complexes and schools, much as the peacnik leftists would like to propagandize.

Peace-time assassinations, yes. This is a war and Saddam is the leader of the Iraqi military. He is most CERTAINLY a viable target.

Massive? Omnipresent? I doubt that you have more than two or three members, four at most. So far we have only Nemesisz and you. In fact, most of the regulars on this board seem to be doubtful, if not outright opposed to a "secret council." If most are against you, then how are you massive or omnipresent?

Also, the Freemasons are a centuries-old fraternal order. I hardly think your group compares to them.

I don't agree. I think in a benevolent dictatorship, there would still be those underneath who thought they could do the job better. And if the guy doesn't have a huge success rate and the popularity to go with it, it breeds internal upheaval.

Hint: I am pointing out in my post that it there is a slim to none chance if that form of government coming about. Those with the means, ambition and mindset to become dictators are usually not "benevolent" people.

The best form of government is a benevolent dictatorship. The problem is finding an incorruptible, benevolent dictator.

Here's a historical note. At the Battle of Verdun (1916), the French commanders had to order machine gun detachments to set up and man guns behind the French lines to "handle" their "morale issues."

WWI? Battle of the Marne...

They won the First Battle of the Marne mainly because von Kluck of the German 1st Army left a gap between his army and the Second. The British Expeditionary Force exploited this gap and forced them back.

As for the rest of the war, they were quite incompotent. They didn't win, just held
on long enough for the other Allies to achieve a victory. Their troops mutinied, nearly all of their commanders were out-of-touch idiots (especially Joffre), Plan 17 was a horrendous failure and their fundamental strategy as laid down in their official doctrine was "The French Army knows no law but that of the offensive.", a terrible mode of thinking that would have terrible consequences in the trench warfare that ensued. The French were also undersupplied and in constantly low morale. They were not exactly, "successful" in WWI.

The New Regulars, the Council, etc. Posted March 19th, 2003 in Politics

Lemme 'splain something....

This forum has improved in many ways since I was gone. There is actual discussion of issues and less "grudge" type matches. I'm glad to see more informed people speaking out intelligently.

However, some new developments disturb me. This "Politics Council" is a major one. What is its function? Does it plan to wield any sort of "power" and if so, how? Why is it secret?

I think this is being caused by some newer members that are, perhaps, a tad bit arrogant. I won't name names, but they know who they are. They should understand that they do not own this forum. Any "secret societies" or elitist groups will quickly be quashed.

I am not against these individuals personally, for many post intelligent and insightful opinions, but there should not be any grabs for "power." As for the "Regulars Lounge Thread," I am not opposed to it in spirit, but I fear it will be merely a chat thread for these arrogant newcomers.

One individual, (I won't name names), mentioned recently that they consider themselves the "elite." My point is that there is no "elite"; there is only respect. Some have more than others and that is because they earned it. You can't come on this forum, post for a month, (yes, I checked posting histories), and then declare yourself the "elite" of the forum.

I'm not asking these people to go away or shut up. I just want them to think of their place. They do not rule the forum. I do not rule the forum.

I hope that there can be good relations in the future.

With the influx of NG clubs, crews and organizations, there should be a sig section specifically for listing what clubs one belongs to. This would be seperate from the regular sig block or photo.
