I love the concept, but yeah it's very poorly done, but could be great with the right code.

Response to: First person Shooter? Posted November 5th, 2005 in Game Development

theres cheap ways of doing it just draw the gun and arm and use the mouse to move it, I've seen it done before and most people don't notice the gun not moveing because they're focused on shooting stuff.

Response to: starwars game - good bad? Posted November 5th, 2005 in Game Development

i did take it as a compliment heh, thanks, and also thanks for the tips there I thought some survived I had no idea it was just obiwan and yoda. thats something to think about. and I'll also check out those site maybe then I can find out if they accually had tie fighters before episode 3, because I know if i release this and there are huge flaws like that I'll get like 5 billion comments telling me off heh

Response to: starwars game - good bad? Posted November 5th, 2005 in Game Development

you just made my head swell like 50 sizes, no thats not a clip from the movie heh, I animated it in lightwave, not my models tho heh, that would have taken me forever.

but you got the idea, i'm going to make a bunch of mini games with cut scenes in between following a story. so like after this you have to fight some tie fighters
and I'm thinking you get hit at the end of some fighting and then after that

you get a hit on your main power source or whatever and have to go down onto this planet, and that level will be tying to keep your fighter at the correct pitch and roll while decending so you don't burn up and explode, then I dunno where it will go

only thing is I don't want to follow any existing movies or games or whatever, I was the story to be original, you play a jedi that survives after episode 3 or whatever I don't know yet could use a writer lol
thanks for the comments, and some kinda light saber battle thing in it would be awsome, dunno how I'm going to pull that off

Response to: starwars game - good bad? Posted November 5th, 2005 in Game Development

I'm going to try and blend the movies seemlessly as possible with the action, kinda sucks that you have to lower the quality so much because of file size.

Response to: i gots me a new one Posted November 1st, 2005 in Game Development

I'm sorry I don't like the idea of "chicken people", your ideas are very insiteful in my opinion but change it to something more realistic, not based on anything that you could see on earth, ie, chicken, lizard, person, fish, something new!

and also a space battle, if you want some ships designed and shot in 3d contact me, I'm more then happy to supply anything like that. anyways awsome ideas, heh hated the chicken ppl.

Response to: As:performance & Optimisation Tips Posted November 1st, 2005 in Game Development

well heres my AS, processors require many steps in order to divide, no mater what it is AS VB C++ avoid division as much as possible.. etc. 10/5 could be described as 10 * 0.5

multiplication require less steps in the processor.

Response to: Haloween game ideas Posted October 29th, 2005 in Game Development

heh i'll try to clairify that, I left out alot of things so i can understand, I just thought it would be easier if you worked all the fine stuff out whatever it don't matter heh

the player is the headless horseman, in other words you control the headless horseman, if you don't know who that is it's from that story movie animation etc... sleepy hollow... that kinda deal, and you ride around on your horse maybe just a 2d scroller,

so the headless horseman would have two attacks, throw a flameing pumpkin and sliceing with the sword.

so anyway theres people walking through the forest town blah blah blah whatever background you want to choose and the point is to stun a person by first throwing one of those flameing pumpkins at them and hitting them. then your chop off their head and thats how your score increases.

and of course you could throw in enemies like I don't know, priests or something heh or just objects you have to jump over avoid etc.

I hope that helps.

Response to: Haloween game ideas Posted October 29th, 2005 in Game Development

how about a game where your the headless horseman and you have to collect heads. you throw flameing gas filled pumpkins at people on your horse which stuns them or something then you chop off the head. Could be a very spooky looking game I'm sure.
