I'm really surprised that "I Am A Loser" didn't place. It was really well done. Will that one be rolled over to the next month?

Just didn't seem to get as many views.

Ahh, cmon static, I would have added you regardless!! Who do you think scouted you? LOL Anyway, sorry I've been gone the last few days. Had to spend time with the girlfriend.

Need to finish re - recording this damn song though. I'll get started on that tomorrow. I want to be fresh and ready to rock!

I've been working on other songs as well. So, in case you thought I may have been slacking. I'm really excited. We need business cards!!

I would like to hand them out to bands I see live that may be interested. It would be great to throw small concerts in dive bars from 5line some day.

Glad to see all the love!!

Also I heard some stories about people who were born blind and got their vision in their 20s. Their perception of the world was fucked up beyond recognition.

At First Sight - Val Kilmer movie (1999) - He couldn't distinguish between a real apple and a picture of one. Couldn't perceive glass. Pretty good movie.... sad at the same time.

You don't necessarily NEED music theory, but it won't hurt anything. If your hard up on cash, like most of us are than you might want to visit ultimate-guitar.com And check out their most viewed tabs. If you start out with tabs, eventually you'll learn your chords by using the same one's over and over again. I think they have lessons as well. There is also plenty of how-to videos on youtube.

It's going to take a lot of practice just to get your first song down.

Your fingers will be sore as hell and you probably won't be able to play for more than a few hrs a day. I've heard of people using superglue on their fingers to act as a callus, but I don't personally recommend it. Eventually you will build calluses and lose most of the feeling in your fingertips.

As long as you know chords, you'll basically be able to play along with anything. If you learn your scales than you'll be able to bust out badass solos . If you want to do it the "right" way and learn THEORY, and remember it is a theory and not a law, than I might suggest looking for a college that post lectures online like on youtube.

It's not an easy instrument to learn, and you'll probably get pissed off a lot. You sound like you have a pretty solid backround in music, so it may come a bit easier for ya. Anyway, good luck.

At 9/4/10 01:29 AM, blackattackbitch wrote: Are my methods bad? Possibly. Regardless though, lots of people liked the song, and, to me, that's all that matters.

Well...... I look at it this way. If you don't believe in your music enough to 5 rocket it. Than how can you expect other people to?

TRUST ME if your bad...... people will let you know.

I've released some pretty steamy turds on newgrounds. Even after you 5 rocket your own music people will vote according to their tastes. And if it's not that great, it usually gets downvoted. It may take some time for people to catch on to a crappy song on the front page, but once they do. It's done for.

I like to think of it as getting HONEST feedback. Hurts sometimes, but can only make you better in the long run. Unless your a chicken shit and can't handle the truth and wallow in your own self pity. I think the trick is to not take yourself so seriously and to have fun.

Just don't do something stupid like go on american idol because your family said you were a good singer. That always seems to end in failure. Or, do it and become famous for being a horrible singer. It's happened!!

Yeah.... I think we should all agree upon one chat messaging system. It's been brought up a few times.

Also, apparently the song was in such poor quality that Gravey wouldn't even look at it. LOL Guess I need to start re-recording! Just hope I can produce something that sounds better. Time to change the guitar strings and set up the old microphone. Wish me luck guys!

Loki, we need to get a contract ready for pillowmint. I know you said that you had been talking to him and I'm not quite sure if he was signed or not. Just want to make sure we have his info so we can pay him once the song is posted and what have you. Still waiting anxiously for a remastered version. I'm hoping Gravy is sprinkling his Gravy magic on it. No rush no hurry...... just excited.

Response to: Post Count? Posted September 3rd, 2010 in General

I really don't take post count all that seriously. Age has more of an effect than post count. Also, looking at the sign up date can be impressive as well. I guess it all depends on the forum topic really.

The people I take more seriously as far as newgrounds related topics would be those who have a high blam/protect rank. Even if they never created anything, it pretty much means they know their stuff and have watched tons of flash and they are really in tune with what pleases most everybody.

Response to: Hello Everyone! Posted September 3rd, 2010 in Audio

Well, I closed the voting for it. I got enough votes from facebook and another thread in the general topic. Maybe you guys can vote in on the next one. Would be nice to have the support. I'll let you guys know which piece of art won if anyone is interested.

It has everything to do with 5linerecords because I am a signed artist. Besides, i didn't say you HAD to participate, I actually asked very nicely if there were a few people that didn't have anything better to do. I come in peace bro. Let's have people think we're a bunch of pricks now.

Album Art Contest Vote! Posted September 2nd, 2010 in General

I did a contest with 10 different newgrounds artists. 3 of them responded with great art and now I am looking for votes. The winner of the pseudo-contest will be featured with my music and will even have t-shirts and posters made some time in the future. So..... if you don't have anything else going on, do you mind visiting my user page and casting a vote via the comments section? I appreciate the help and plan on announcing the winner some time tomorrow. Thanks

Response to: Hello Everyone! Posted September 2nd, 2010 in Audio

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could possibly help me out. I've been running a pseudo contest thingy for one of my songs and art that goes with it. Eventually I am planning on having posters and t-shirts made to go along with the music.

So, if you have the time, do you mind visiting my user page and voting on the best art piece? There's only three of them and I am taking votes via the comment section. I would appreciate the help. All of the artists are newgrounds artists btw. Thank you!

Yeah...... I think it is. Unless a mod says otherwise? Unless you wanted to open a collab thread... but wouldn't that be pointless to do until you had everyone that was working on it? Anywho, i would really like to help, but I'm kind of smacked in the middle of working on album art. And still waiting on a song to be mastered as well. Maybe I should get Loki on the horn tomorrow to see if things are still moving along......

If you are having writers block, try writing a new genre. Also, write atleast a tiny bit every day, like 2 or 3 measures. That might help.

Funny you should say that, the last song I've written was done in the middle of the night. So yeah, maybe there is something to that.

Response to: Why the hate for Slipknot? Posted September 1st, 2010 in General

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfPiAz8iC cw

This music video and song was plenty to make me a slipknot fan. Such a sad fucking song. My interpretation is that it's about a woman that all men wish existed. But she doesn't, she's a myth. So yeah, i like slipknot because unlike some of the screaming garbage out there the lead singer can actually sing. They yell and scream to convey emotion in their music. Every song that I've heard from them has a message to it. Unlike some garbage that I've heard that's just screaming to sound "cool" Slipknot has my vote.

Some people don't bother to listen to the lyrics of a song to try and understand why they are screaming. They just hear loud noises that displeases them. But, that's what it's supposed to do! It helps you convey the emotion that they are screaming to you.

First, I would sit him down to give him a nice close shave. Than I would make idle conversation with him to gain his trust and cause him to relax. Maybe talk about how well the new game release is going.

Than I would grab his neck insert the blade into his mouth and extend his pretty little smile. Afterwards licking the blade to absorb his essence so that all the pretty girls will enjoy my smile like they adored his.
