I don't know what homeless people are like with regards to their homelessness, I don't know if they're all upset about it or accept it and don't care. Today I saw 2 guys sitting in the town park near me, I was sitting there for a while and noticed that they were wearing scarves and had bags of what looked like clothes. I assumed they're homeless so I was going to buy them food, but I realise it's possible they aren't homeless and might kill me for trying to offer them food.

How do I tell if someone is homeless and how do I ask them politely? "Hello, I have money and I want to pity you, are you homeless?" might not go down too well.

Topic: a question of Opera

Posted: 11/04/09 09:50 AM

Forum: Where is / How to?

That won't have any effect on the problem (removing cookies). The problem is, in my opinion, most likely (like, 99% sure) linked with javascript. I had a firefox extension a while back that fucked me over with javascript, it would lag massively because it was trying to do some silly things and the forms here rely heavily on it.

Do you have any extensions installed on opera? Also have you tried over input forms? I found my problem was consistent across quite a few websites, including the input boxes here on newgrounds. How does the search bar for the forum and portal perform, do you get the same lag?

It could be an underlying problem with your install though, if neither of the above are applicable, have you tried a reinstall?

As mentioned briefly above, invites are not instant. If invited you're added to a big list of people, every week or so google go through the list and "invite" most of the people to use the service by enabling it on their accounts. So even though I invited you you're not instantly eligible to use the service.

Yes, it sucks.

oh man, google wave sucks. I was clicking stuff and I just managed to spam Wades wave thing, this won't end well. That's something I dislike; there's no sort of confirmation for an action, I clicked a button without seeing the result and that result will notify (I assume) others and there was no confirmation. I guess this is for ease of use though.

also feel free to add me, I think I'm on your list. if not, citricsquid@gmail.com

programming a forum from the ground up unless you have a reason to is pretty silly, if you just want a forum then use something like phpbb or fluxbb which is a simple install and you can modify it how you like.

The thing is, we're all full-time students, we're all doing this on a voluntary basis alongside school, without really getting paid ourselves.
We're not in a position to be able to pay people, not yet anyway... but that's not really the point of the initiative

That's the problem, you're in a position where you're looking for someone good enough to produce the final result you're after but you're unwilling (or unable) to provide pay for. This is fine if the person interested has a passion for your project but if you're after someone to join up for the work and then leave, you're going to have problems. As web developers it's possible to be paid quite a bit of money for the work you're after and we as people need money to survive.

I'm sure you'll get some interest, but don't expect to get good web developers on board, if you do you're very lucky.

Boomer bile is AWESOME. I've been very impressed by the demo so far, I really can't wait for the full release, definitely worth the money.

I don't like the reviving though, both in L4D1 and L4D2. I don't think that the players should be revived during a chapter, because it ruins the feeling of trying to survive. At the beginning of the chapters, sure they can be respawned, but I think that dead players should stay dead during a chapter. A skilled and smart team will already know to stay together and defend eachother no matter what, and if they do, there shouldn't be any trouble.

I assume this was their original intention but this game is online and a lot of people are impatient, chapters can take so long. Hell, I played L4D1 loads and there were chapters from safe room to safe room that took well over 30 minutes, some closer to an hour. I'd not like to be a player who dies after 5 minutes and has to sit out doing nothing.
